I don't why most people here ll read d headline and run with it, without digesting the content of the message. From what I deduce from this message Obodo did not say police did not rescue him rather he gave credits to the operations who covered the nuke and cranies of the state. If d police had not been their his escape would'nt have been easy and am sure Obodo might not find it this funny. Pls endeavor to give credits when and where it is due.

Jesse Dimmick: Couple Broke Deal Not To Tell Police

Can there be no trust between a kidnapper and his hostages?

The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that Dimmick filed a breach of contract suit in Shawnee County District Court, in response to a suit the Rowleys filed in September seeking $75,000 from him for intruding in their home and causing emotional stress.

Dimmick contends that he told the couple he was being chased by someone, most likely the police, who wanted to kill him.

"I, the defendant, asked the Rowleys to hide me because I feared for my life. I offered the Rowleys an unspecified amount of money which they agreed upon, therefore forging a legally binding oral contract," Dimmick said in his hand-written court documents. He wants $235,000, in part to pay for the hospital bills that resulted from him being shot by police when they arrested him.

Neighbors have said that the couple fed Dimmick snacks and watched movies with him until he fell asleep and they were able to escape their home unharmed.


Dimmick was convicted in May 2010 of four felonies, including two counts of kidnapping. He was sentenced to 10 years and 11 months on those charges. He was later sent to a jail in Brighton, Colo., where he is being held on eight charges, including murder, in connection of with the killing of Michael Curtis in September 2009. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 16. No plea has been entered in the case.

Robert E. Keeshan, an attorney for the Rowleys, filed a motion denying that there was a contract, but said if there was it would not have been binding anyway.

The police should be commended for covering the whole area and being on their tail the whole time. Its good they were monitoring the calls and tracing the calls.

The same modus operandi should be used for every other citizen and not just for VIPs. People should not tell stories and make Obodo out as ungrateful.

Kidnapping wont stop with this case so we shouldnt ridicule the police for doing a good job this time. It could be you next time and you wouldnt want a disgruntled police force in charge of the case then.

The Igbos say that when you praise a child for a job well done, he will strive to do as well next time or even better....

Who covered the whole state,who was monitoring the roads and creeks thereby putting the kidnappers under siege,who was monitoring their calls and using it to close in on them that forced them to move from the forest to open town,who made a fake call to the kidnappers that the ransom was ready for which 5 of them left and left obodo with just one of them,from whom he was able to escape later.Before his escape,who arrested three of the kidnappers that had gone to pick the ransom money,I can go on and on and on.#
I know the NPF could be dissappointing in most cases,but on this occasion,they were VERY instrumental to Obodos escape.
