I had a lenghty arguement with a few friends and I decided to bring it onto this forum to know other people's views on the issue. the question is this: Who do you regarded as a football superstar and more to the point,are you of the opinion that Mikel John Obi has attained such statues. 2) In your assessment,who do ou think deserves to anchor the attacking midfield and central midfield positions for the Super Eagles? Obi is no super star, he can't even shoot at goal has he scored in a normal match for chealsea?

The one and only "Big Oba", Obafemi Martins. The fact that he plays for the football team that I support (Newcastle United, which is my hometown), means I'm down with him. 

Jay-Jay Okocha is probably better known, and has been (and still is) a great ambassador for Nigerian and African football. Babayaro is not really what I would consider a superstar, but is well known , and well established.

@ topic: Kanu and John Utaka, anyone? I had a good-natured argument with a Nigerian friend who lives in Canada as to who was the better striker. She made the point for Kanu, I staunchly defended the corner of Martins.
