Happy new year Mamas. My silent mode deactivated and I've forgiven you all for not asking after me.
Let me get familiar with all the operations here again. I know Monday is for prayer session, when are ranting session and "ThisBabyNeedsASpank" or something like that. I came across it one time and was laughing all alone.

Help a first time mum.

Didnt even knw lo is meant to poo every day until I saw mums complaining here. We are on EBF, lo takes like a week to poo after her last poo. What can I do to help her poo everyday or is it normal for EBFers.
For the first time in 20 weeks, my lo has gone for 4 days without poo. He used to poo up to or more than 3 times a day before now. I know its normal to go that long without pooing but he grunts like he is trying to poo....I can't tell if he is just playing. Does your lo grunt too?

I thought I was the only one that still has a four month old that poops at least twice a day even though I know it's normal for them not to poop everyday while on breastmilk. My baby is a master "grunter" (is that even a word? cheesy) and he started when he was around 3 weeks. I was concerned about it before but now it doesn't bother me anymore. Sometimes he goes days without grunting. Sometimes he grunts nonstop like a Hog. I don leave him to do as he wants grin

Its never easy, especially in the first few weeks after they are born. You and wifey can make up by working with your son's timetable; sleep when he sleeps and stay awake when he does. Hopefully he adjusts soon so thinks can go back to normal. Sorry.

Good evening mamas in the house, am a ftm my 2weeks old baby breath fast why sleeping sometimes, apart from the fast breathing every other thing is ok because he sleeps very well and also feed well. I took him to the hospital yesterday and doctor said I should give him these drugs nospamin, ampiclox, multivitamin, paracetamol and vitamin c he said I should give my baby 0.5ml 3times a day.
Please experienced mothers is these drugs not too much for a 2weeks old baby.

What did he give you all those drugs for. Pls it's normal for newborns to breath fast while sleeping. My DD is also 2wks and she breaths fast while sleeping, its normal, my first son was also like dat. U can google it and read for yourself

Well done mama. Pls custard is not meant for that age but you can try Semo in thick pap form and add formula. It helps baby add weight

What did he diagnose to come up with all that prescription? Please call and ask.
Also which of the drugs are you to give thrice daily? Please don't tell me it's all of them shocked angry.

Don't give him any till you hear what the diagnosis is

Meantime bath him with warm water at night, feed him warm milk if on formula and apply Shea butter on the nose! Observe him and see if there's any difference in his breathing, if same please go see a paediatrician.

Nospamin-is used for colic.

Ampiclox-is antibiotic used for upper and lower respiratory infection.

Your breast milk and formula contains vitamin c! Why does he want you to offer multivitamin that also contains vitamin c? alongside a vitamin c supplement? Isn't that over dosing?

Paracetamol for what? Is he running a temp or has a fever?

Abeg ask your doctor questions before accepting and administering drugs on a newborn especially when you don't know what you are treating.
