-Herbal tea

Instead of using mentol to worsen the situation, try herbal tea. They are very very soothing to the throat. Ginger flavour or any other one should do the magic. If you have to use milk, make sure it's very minimal. Milk/dairy products in general cause excess production of mucous, so using too many may do more harm than good. Same goes for sugar (well that's if you can't take the tea without adding sugar).

NB: This tips are for professional voice users. It's not in any way trying to paint mentol as a bad product. It works but it has side effects. The side effects may not matter to a person who is not a professional voice.
