Aninri local government is a big construction site. This ongoing road project starts from Emudo Nenwe, through Agbada Nenwe, all the way through Oduma Achara till you hit Uburu in Ebonyi state. Ike Ekweremadu again? grin

This large swathes of land should be cultivated by mechanised farming tools. Government should go into partnership with local land owners and make the best use of these fertile lands.......

Nice landscape.....dotted with a sprinkling of palm trees here and there. A golf course would be perfect for this kind of topography.

The "Think Home" ideology is really working in Enugu. With the advent of modern technology, one can transact business in Lagos successfully without being physically present in Lagos.

The axle killer from 9th Mile to Enugu is something else. Otherwise, I enjoyed the Sight and Sound of Enugu when I visited. From Inyi-Oji-Udi is a well macadamized thoroughfare. Absolutely commendable. I still consider Enugu as a home.

Enugu propped up with the wonderful works done by Chime. The pace of development is outstanding. One can only imagine what Enugu will become if electricity becomes stable.

Thank you. It's all this uncoordinated and mad rush to develop that has left our land stripped of its lush vegetation, leaving it exposed to the threat of erosion.

Uncoordinated is the word. I was thinking 'wow enugu is beatiful, next post someone is saying they should plow it over for mechanized farming. We seem to not have the foresight or confidence in ourselves and to develop in a health way. Our lack of confidence makes us undervalue what makes our land special and we regularly destroy our land, cultures, bodies and minds in pursuit of nothingness

Mechanized farming will bring in a lot of dollars for Enugu. We need to develope Enugu aggressively to achieve high economic expansion and development. The local farmers will also benefit.

Mechanized farming is great but there's more to life than money. This isn't an abstract concept either. May of the degenerative behaviors Nigerians exhibit are the result of the hideous toxic environments our short sightedness forces us to create.

When we make said money what will we do? Build a big tacky house and cage ourselves in 10 foot concrete walls. Well cut down every tree visible in the process.

When the air is full of dust, when erosion strikes, when smog reaches, air quality declines, people start dying at 40 from natural causes, we'll blame government.

Ontisha was built with 0 consideration for health or environment in mind. Today it's the dirtiest city in the world and the people there act like pained animals.

Owerri is moving in a decent direction and takes beauty into consideration. Enugu too. Do you know why people in Aba and Onitsha act one way while people in Enugu and Owerri act another?

Our poor concept of development has us racing towards wasting our time on Earth in a miserable ugly concrete hell.

You can't look at something this beautiful and start thinking of how to destroy it. Besides, beauty generates more money than rice. If Amazon or Microsoft was going to build office you think they'll choose to do it in a treeless, smoggy dusty wasteland?

lol Aba and Onitsha, Enugu and Owerri differs indeed..
Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by oneeast: 8:01pm On Apr 13, 2018
I think it is the other way round. Owerri and Aba are the dirtiest towns in the SE and equally with the worst road roads.

Onitsha is among the neatest in the SE presently and equally most planned city in the SE. Owerri and Aba are at the same level. Onitsha like every other major city has different hoods, high density and low density, depending on where you can afford. You cannot compare Awada to 3-3 or Fegge to Omagba. The same is in Enugu, you cannot compare New Haven to Ogui/Asata. etc. Even Asata/Ogui hoods are even worse off than Obosi/Awada. Because Awada has far better buildings and equally planned while Ogui/Asata is what one will easily regard as slum.

I was in Owerri myself recently and i was shocked at the level of propaganda being dished out online whereas the reality on ground shows total disaster and mess.

The report is about industrial air pollution of which all the SE states were affected. I still have the report chart. It has nothing to do with dirt.

For instance, i took this pic at Owerri. Does this environment reflect what you mean by beauty? Meanwhile this is a road at center of the town that was just completed. You guys should stop spewing rubbish and go on ground to be well informed.
