Hello Oreshade,

Because you're a student, I will advice you to go for low-risk investment. You can put #400,000 in mutual fund, #200,000 to buy shares in one or two solid fundamental companies and keep the remaining #50,000 in your account.

I know a lot of  people will tell you to put virtually everything into stock business because of the high profits/returns you tend to gain within a very short time but always remember that the risk in stock business is a bit high and being a student you may not be able to withstand the risk because you may lose all at once.

Peace.

Oreshade,

This is another good plan and I believe this will fetch you more money than the first one. Zenith bank will start selling shares to the public on 16th Dec. 2007. You can use # 389,000.00 to buy 10,000 units of shares for keep from Zenith IPO.

Then, invest #200,000.00 in mutual fund, you can go for ARM AGGRESSIVE GROWTH , FBN HERITAGE FUND, 1BTC ETHICAL FUND, UNION BANK TRUSTEES TRUST FUND. Just do your reseach on these Funds and choose one.

Keep the remaining #61,000.00 in your bank account. If you don't want to keep a lot of money out of the #650,000.00 in your account, you can use # 39,000.00 out of the # 61,000.00 left to buy 10,000 units of shares fron BAGCO PLC IPO and then keep the remaining #22,000.00 in your account. For BAGCO PLC, the offer will close on the 14th of this month.

Since you are a student, these two Coys will pay you as per long term investment and you will make a lot of money.

And always remember that every investment entails some elements of risk.

Peace.
