Goodluck Jonathan, was elected president of Nigeria in the 2011 April General Election, an election that was allegedly seen by both local and international observers as credible, free and fair. GEJ is a year and one month into his administration and commentators, political analysts, and oppositions alike have continued to assess his performance. While some claim that he is trying to deliver the gains of democracy, some hold a contrary view. But is it not too earlier to make assessment? Are forces not instigating this violence to distract or pull him down? Can one succeed in atmosphere of violence? How about some of the landmark achievements he has recorded?
