So bad that no African football club is financially empowered to pay top dollars for our African footballers with the long history of football in the continent.
How come Chinese clubs which only started few years back are now exploiting us to our face.
Apart from the North African clubs who invest heavily in football, the rest are just rubbish.
Real shame on the African continent.
Anyway good luck to Drogba and other African footballers plying their trade in China in their twilight age.

No reason why someone like Dangote cannot buy into a local club and take it to the next level. He has more than enough resources to create a top class club right there in Nigeria that can attract big name players.

why should he do it?, have he finish sueing Ibeto or look for any rising star to tarnish. all the travel he dose is to learn negative things. i don't care how his fans may see it but lets face facts.

the question IS: does Dangote have any interest in buying a football club?! does he even like football? or should that be a requirement to all Nigerian men with money?! lol

it can be profitable to run a football club abroad (with TV rights and possible CL fees), while in Africa it ISNT.

suicide bombers are "dribbling us" at relative ease... it is better we deal with that first before calling our african starts to come back and play at home

Everyone says this or that idea is not possible in Africa until one person tries it out, and then it succeeds, and then everyone rushes in to replicate the concept. I don't see how this will be any different.

One example is Shoprite. When they were about to launch in Nigeria, the usual negative brigade began churning out all those dubious statistics of ''90% of Nigerians live on less than a dollar a day'' etc etc. Shoprite ignored all that nonsense, and established outlets. Now they're raking in billions in profit, and recently announced they plan to establish 700 more outlets in Nigeria.

So I never believe when people say that this or that concept cannot work in Africa (or Nigeria as the case may be). ANYTHING can work here if you're serious and know what you're doing.

^^^^bro, let who has the idea AND money do whatever they please with their loot......just because Shoprite is making a profit in 9ja, shouldnt be a reason for any rich Nigerian to invest in such business, IF THEY DO NOT WISH TO DO SO. (abi na by force to invest in what YOU like)

it takes much more than just MONEY to run a succesful football club (or supermarket chain)......but hey, most poor people will be quick to tell you how they would do "this and that" if they had any money, forgetting that many rich people are busy investing their money where THEY believe is a more profitable and safe environment.

out of the gazillions of football teams out there, how many do you know are owned by a billionaire/millionaire AND profitable?! dont believe the Abrahamovic hype, and instead go and ask someone like the owner of Manchester City how much in deficit he is since taking over the team (last tme i checked it was £300millions)
