We have been told time and again that man's the master of his fate.Is this really true?Anyone vaguely familiar with the exploits of the Olympians(in Greek myth)knows without a doubt that man is merely a plaything of the gods. This view again is supported in Soyinka's ground-breaking A Dance of the Forest.

To what extent can we agree that man has little control over what happens to him? Man has no control over the family into which he's born. He cannot help it whether his parents are rich or poor. We know it's defeatist to absolve man of blame but the odds against him seem staggering. So without letting your emotions becould your judgement, would you kindly contribute meaningfully and logically. Thanks all.
