Besides the quantum of problems, issues and social skirmishes like the Boko haram attacks here and there, Nigeria still goes strong with finances though our leaders still act clueless at times. It is no longer news that our leaders are aiming for a vision 2020 that will place Nigeria on the list-20 most developed countries in the year 2020. Could this be that we are truly heading that way?

Nigeria's economic progress means nothing if it does not trickle down to the average man and woman

It just looks good on paper

Nigeria's GDP per capita is pretty unimpressive though.

Yes, there is growth but development is really slow.
Re: Nigeria Currently Ranked At 30 On World's Largest Economies' List by ektbear: 6:07am On Jul 22, 2012
Nigeria's economy is growing rapidly. But still quite a bit below its potential. Imagine if there was electricity, for example. So the progress is commendable, but more needs to be done.
Re: Nigeria Currently Ranked At 30 On World's Largest Economies' List by Nobody: 6:15am On Jul 22, 2012
If we can sustain the current growth rate, we can still break into top twenty within a decade. There is no reason why a country like Pakistan should be ahead of Nigeria.
Re: Nigeria Currently Ranked At 30 On World's Largest Economies' List by ektbear: 6:28am On Jul 22, 2012
I agree regarding Pakistan. Should in principle be able to grow more rapidly than them, given how much they spend on their military.
