Good day my fellow citizens of nairaland kingdom. What is your thought on the above topic? I am a graduate of applied chemistry,i have some working experience during the period i did my industrial training in one chemical allied coy like that. I was in the lab carrying out quality control analysis of raw materials,in process products and finally the finished products. I did virtually the same things everyday......
Doctors go to do hospitals and attend to patients who complain of almost the same ailment everyday........
Engineers,the same thing
Bankers...........same
Accountants,...............same
Now my question is; IS THERE ANY JOB THAT IS NOT MONOTONOUS??

Academic research, for the simple reason that you cannot publish the same idea all the time in a top journal. Something must be different, no matter how small.

Many jobs are not monotonous. Most sedentary (desk) jobs are.
If you're carrying out a repetitive set of identical tasks, or processing information with little or no intellectual input, chances are you will find your job boring. Which is what your IT experience sounds like.

True, many jobs are not monotonous but most jobs are and not necessarily the sedentary jobs alone. From field telecoms specialist/officer to office IT, they are all monotonous. IMHO, the only set of jobs that tend not to be monotonous are those in the line of R & D

I dont think consulting is monotonous.

Doing the same thing in a different and interesting way daily makes that thing non-monotonous, just that you need your thinking cap in order to achieve that.

Please let me do that. I manage projects and my major areas θf focus are procurement mgt, trainings and events (awards).

Monotony is non existent in my job! Even if I were to have several projects within the same industry to manage, it would never be monotonous because while its basically the same skill that is required to get the job done, there's always loads θf new challenges that surfaces and a requirement θf fresh creativity to get an excellent job done.
