The members of the reps are so concerned with the implementation of the budget not for national interest but for the release of more funds so that they can collected their cuts from the contracts that have been heavily padded by Ministries and Parastatal.

Their modus operandi is to make ministers and heads of parastal pad the contract sum for specific projects during their budget defense at the national assembly. They also expect speedy implementation so that they can collect the money meant for the contracts for their constituency project and then frolic with it.

Telling us that they want to impeach they are doing it for national interest is like telling us we have horns on our head.

Telling us that they want to impeach the President for national interest is like telling us we have horns on our heads. If they re acting in national interest they should first and foremost cut down on their numerous allowances and entitlement, suspend the members that have been found wanting in their midst and account for all the monies that have collected for non existent constituency projects. Then we can start believing them.

The nation's budget is the appropriation bill for the fiscal year. Non implementation or selective implementation is a flagrant violation of the law which no healthy nation should tolerate. It is only in Nigeria that budget implementation can be as low as 30% and those responsible for the abysmal performance smile all the way to their homes and to the banks. In sane polities questions must be asked and appropriate punishment meted out to whosoever are the laggards. This is because the national budget has bearing on the lives and livelihoods of every citizen. For some citizens, it may even mean a matter of life and death.
So for government to be lackadaisical about budget implementation is to say the least criminal. But does GEJ and the people around him know this much? If they do activities in goverment circles would be clock-work affair right from the begining of the fiscal year. But because they do not know and do not have a clue, they have all the leeway for the type of criminal corruption that is going on within their ranks.
Yes the legislators are the watch dogs charged with meting out appropriate punishment to the guilty including impeachment of the president if he so deserves it. But going by their antecedents can they muster enough integrity to pursue the national interest right through? Are they not merely prodding GEJ so that he would begin to package ghana-must-go for them? It would be interesting to use this impeachment threat as a stress test for the National Assembly. September is just around the corner!

Thank you! I don't think in Nigeria, people understand what non-implementation really means to the Nation.

Nigerians, make up ur Fucken minds! If GEJ is useless and the NASS is corrupt does that mean we should just crawl between their colossal legs like meek dogs and die in pathetic graves?

If we kick GEJ out there'll come another bastard; Sambo whom we must kick too. There is no resting point in this, this a battle, this a war, this is our country. The struggle will continue till everyone of us dies, so stop looking at the small pixel and beating ourselves down even before we try.

I'm going to start carrying a strip of green to show that I support the motion to impeach GEJ. We need to start a revolution, a green revolution!

If you are really convinced that GEJ is the problem of Nigeria, then you are simply day dreaming. There is more to it all than the ordinary eyes can see.

There is not doubt that there is more, however, if as the president, the problems are too big for him to handle to make the nation habitable for her citizen, then, let him resign, enough of all these embarrassing Nigeria all over the world

With what you said up there, you just confirmed that we have a lame in our hands as a leader

It is now that ordinary eyes can no longer see the ordinary leaders that ordinary voters elected into office. I wonder how many more ludicrous excuses would be advanced to mask the incompetence of this administration.

maclatunji: Well said! The truth is that for Nigeria to truly move forward, the National Assembly has to be bolder and more resolute in carrying out its constitutional duties.

The House of Reps. is leading the way in this regard. The Senate has been a big disappointment especially with Sen. David Mark preventing it from exerting its full powers because of his selfish interests.

How many motions or laws have they made to affect our lives positively? How many constituency projects have they initiated? Can any of them boast of having paid students bursary or embarked on empowerment? Even collecting money from Otedola is for national interest. These people are just self centered. Thank God 2015 is fast approaching

...And Gbajabia etc turned out to be a thief like Farouk, the CEO of Nigeria's first ever dollar in cap bank. embarassed embarassed embarassed
How can a lawyer run away with his clients $25,000.00? You run to someone like Gbajabia etc to save you, then he sodomises you in the dark. Damn!

Nigeria is a funny country, where people don't look before they leap. The great thing is that the do-or-die opposition is now being rightly seen by the public for what they are; a pack of red-eyed winshes and thugs who would sell their mothers for a glimpse of power.
It is best for our rogues in and around power to allow GEJ to rule in peace than continually rock the boat for their wicked personal gain. The reps only say the budget is underperforming, because GEJ has very rightly cut off their unconstitutional "community projects." How much are we going to keep spending on these bastards, year in year out?

Will all winshes please stand up? Tell us if you are night pilot or astronaut. Lol! grin
