I wouldnt use the word afraid!!, but more like very catious of IRAN!!, reason being  ISRAEL. If Iran implodes , Israel would definitely get involved, of which it is already getting involved , MOSSAD has been taking out most of  irans nuclear scientists. So the fear factor for the USA  is the middle east and its billion dollar interest in the middle east. Hence the peace has to be kept in the middle east and they  are keeping very close eyes on Iran and Isreal
