In a statement, Police said: "At around 10.45pm on Tuesday, 28 January, Cheshire police were notified of an incident of criminal damage that had taken place earlier this evening with a large group targeting a property in the Nether Peover area,"

A magistrate court in Nasarawa state today January 28th, sentenced to three years in prison each, a pastor of one of the new generation churches, Ujaku Emem Samuel, his wife, Mrs. Peace and two others, Opulani Sunupe and Umar Musa Sa’adu, for selling the e-PIN for the 2020 unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) above N4, 000 stipulated price.



According to a statement by JAMB’s Head of Information, the four accused persons were apprehended by men of the NSCDC in Nasarawa state selling the JAMB form above 4000. They were arraigned before the court today and they pleaded guilty.



The statement reads

“No fewer than four persons who are agents of accredited sale outlets arrested by officers of NSCDC, Nasarawa State Command for selling the ongoing 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) application documents above the prescribed price of N4000, have been sentenced to three years in prison each.

Men of the Katsina State Police Command have arrested a 19-year-old housewife, Rabi Shamsudeen, for allegedly st*bbing her 25-year-old husband, Salish Shamsudeen, to death at their matrimonial home in Danjanku.


According to a family member: “We were in the market when somebody called that my brother Shamsudeen has been stabbed to death by his wife. We have never heard of any issue between them.”

A 40-year-old man, Muhammad Bulala has been electrocuted while attempting to reconnect electric cables disconnected by KEDCO officials over non payment of bill in Jigawa State.


Incident occurred on 27/01/2020 at about 2:20 PM in Gamsarka village, Auyo local government area of Jigawa state.

“A report was received by the Police from Gamsarka in Auyo LGA that at about 1420hrs one Mohd Bulala 40 deliberately climbed electric pole wire to connect a disconnected cable caused by Kedco officials as a result of non payment of bill,”

He said.

Jinjiri explained that on the process to reconnect the cable the man was electrocuted and died instantly.

The White House and US State Department have announced that starting today, Friday January 24th, it will stop pregnant foreigners from travelling into the country to give birth to children in order to obtain American citizenship, a practice known as 'Birth Tourism'.
The new rules were sent from the US State Department to embassies around the world.

The White House announcing the new rule Thursday evening said that the State Department "will no longer issue temporary visitor (B-1/B-2) visas to aliens seeking to enter the United States for 'birth tourism.'"

A middle-aged man simply identified as Ifeanyi, has died after he was allegedly stabbed to death during a fight he went to settle at a beer parlour in Alausa, Lagos state on Thursday January 23rd.



According to an eyewitness who sent the story to LIB, a young man went into a beer parlour in the area to cool off in the evening. However, his attempt to smoke a substance locally known as ''Jedi'' was turned down by the beer parlour owner. This caused an argument between both men which soon degenerated into a fight.
