A black Atlanta man died after he was shot by a white police officer in a fast-food drive-thru late Friday night.





The victim, Rayshard Brooks, 27, was shot during a struggle and died after surgery at a local hospital, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. One officer was treated for an injury and discharged.





Brooks had been asleep in his car in a Wendy’s drive-thru, causing other customers to drive around the car, the Bureau of Investigation said. Police were dispatched to the Wendy’s around 10:30 p.m. and conducted a sobriety test on Brooks, who failed the test, according to the officials.



“During the arrest, the male subject resisted and a struggle ensued,” the Bureau of Investigation said. “The officer deployed a Taser. Witnesses report that during the struggle the male subject grabbed and was in possession of the Taser. It has also been reported that the male subject was shot by an officer in the struggle over the Taser.”

J. Martins has weighed in on the ongoing contract controversy between Cynthia Morgan and Jude Okoye, the CEO of her former record label 'Northside Records'


Taking to his Instagram page to react, the singer said Jude did his best to help and support Cynthia Morgan and May D, who also accused the Okoye brothers of not fully taking care of him as an artiste under their label.

Cynthia Morgan has fired back at her former label boss Jude Okoye and her former manager, Joy Tongo over their rebuttal to her disclosure days ago.



Speaking in another Instalive video session with former Miss Globe Nigeria Cassandra, the dancehall singer averred that she never said Jude Okoye took away her Instagram account.



Cynthia Morgan who insisted that the music executive took over her VEVO account, said she should be suing him. She stated that if Jude Okoye is saying he took over the account because she owes him money, then he didn't do his job well because she was a big brand while still with Northside Entertainment. The singer further recalled how they turned down a gig because those in charge of the show only wanted to pay N3.5m while they wanted N4m.

She went on to reveal that she was not happy in the first three years of her contract, as she had more issues with Joy than with Jude.

A tiler and father of two, Adetayo Rasaq, has been arrested for allegedly sexually molesting a minor in the Agunfoye area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

28-year-old Rasaq was said to have lured the victim into his room with a biscuit after her father left her in the care of her siblings on March 31, 2020.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, said Rasaq allegedly had carnal knowledge of her, adding that the victim started complaining of stomach ache after the incident.

The PPRO said upon interrogation by her father, she told him that Rasaq had sexually abused her, adding that the victim had been taken to hospital for examination and treatment.

A Chicago woman has been sentenced to prison for the brutal beating death of her 5-year-old son in 2018.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday filed an application to stop social media celebrity Ismaila Mustapha, aka Mompha, from travelling abroad to see his family.
