The Ondo state police command have arrested a forty-five year-old suspected herbalist, Idris Sule Shaye, for allegedly dealing in human parts.

According to a joint study by researchers from multiple Chinese universities, the new coronavirus has split into two distinct strains, with one appearing to be far more aggressive.
This new discovery could hinder attempts to develop a vaccine, as researcher at Peking University’s School of Life Sciences and the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, who looked at 103 genomes of SARS-CoV-2 and found the virus had evolved into two separate strains, known as “S” and “L”, with the “L” type being newer, more prevalent and more aggressive.

The older ‘S-type’ appears to be milder and less infectious, while the ‘L-type’ which emerged later, spreads quickly and currently accounts for around 70 per cent of cases.

Oshiomhole Fights Back After suspended As APC Chairman


The suspended National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has fought back after being suspended yesterday by a court in Abuja.

Oshiomhole has now filed for a stay of execution.


Commenting on the issue, the spokesperson for the suspended national chairman, Simon Ebegbulem, said:

“We have filed for a stay of execution and appealed the order. Comrade Adams Oshiomhole remains the national chairman.”

Oshiomhole appealed against the order for his suspended on Wednesday.

Oshiomhole filed four grounds of appeal before the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, praying for an order setting aside the interlocutory injunction issued by Justice Danlami Senchi of the FCT High Court.

Ihedioha Loses Again At Supreme Court

The apex court, in a decision by a seven-man panel of Justices led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, reinstated the judgment it gave on January 14, which declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as the validly elected governor of Imo state.


In the lead verdict that was delivered by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the apex court held that Ihedioha’s application to set aside the judgment that removed him from office lacked merit.


It held that the application was an invitation for the Supreme Court to sit on appeal over its own final judgment.


Though it dismissed the application, the apex court refused to award cost against the Applicants.


However, a member of the apex court panel, Justice Centus Nweze, disagreed with the lead verdict and gave a dissenting opinion that allowed Ihedioha’s application.


Nweze said he was satisfied that the judgment that declared Uzodinma winner was entered in error.


He held that the apex court has a duty to in the interest of justice, set-aside its decision that was given in error.
