It was not a sweet day though my friend thought Tuesday break will be for fun for himself not to talk of his family.. After winning a game yesterday night and bouncing to ATM machine to withdraw his winning from ATM machine, luck was not on his side when he discovers that sportybet have already done justice to his winning by withdrawing #8100 from his account and the remaining money was placed on other bets. FIFA on Sunday, rejected a British media report, alleging doping cover-ups among Russian national team football players. The world football governing body said it had not found any evidence of doping among Russia’s players, as the country hosts the 2018 World Cup. Reiterating a statement it made last month, FIFA said, “insufficient evidence was found to assert an anti-doping rule violation by any footballer.” It added that the investigations opened last month against players named in Russia’s preliminary squad had been closed. Rubin Kazan defender Ruslan Kambolov, investigated by FIFA over alleged doping violations, was named in Russia’s preliminary squad last month but later sustained an injury and was left out of the final selection. “In the course of the investigations, FIFA looked at every possible evidence, leaving no stone unturned,” the global football governing body said. Abuja – Musa Talle, Chairman, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Football Association (FA) on Wednesday said that Morocco’s failed bid to host the 2026 World Cup was a big disappointment to Africa. President Buhari and Prince Moulay Rachid, King of Morocco Mohammed VI Talle, said world’s football governing body, FIFA’s decision was a dash of Africa’s expectations. He said that expectations for a second World Cup on African soil had been brought to a momentary halt. NAN reports that Morocco lost the hosting rights to Canada, U.S. and Mexico, who presented a tripartite bid. Morocco polled 65 votes against 134 votes polled by the three North American nations to emerge winners. The voting which was done at the 68th FIFA Congress in Moscow had 200 out of 211 FIFA member-nations participate in the balloting. The 2026 World Cup will be the largest senior global soccer fiesta with 48 countries playing in 80 matches. (NAN) Source:www.empiregame.com.ng

Since Gernot Rohr stepped into the Super Eagles job in 2016, the team has progressively climbed heights in both team spirit and discipline. The togetherness fostered in the squad has seen Nigeria adopt a strong mentality that allows them to thrive against the odds. A young team bears the imprint of its manager, who has created a resilient counterattacking side that is capable of many surprises at the World Cup. Although Rohr has flirted with some different formations – including a 3-5-2 used in November’s 4-2 win over Argentina – it is clear that Rohr will opt for his trusted 4-2-3-1, based on defensive resilience and efficient counters. While the Super Eagles are a team greater than the sum of its parts, their strengths are pinned on the individual brilliance of a few. Rohr always looks to the collective, though, preferring in public to downplaying the importance of those who truly stand out. “We do not have such great players as Kanu or Okocha, who then shone, but the strength of this team is the teamwork,’’ Rohr told Przeglad Sportowy. “Our captain Mikel Joh Obi or Victor Moses are not the players who will decide the fate of the game themselves, like the stars from the 90s.” However, Mikel’s influence on the team is immense. The former Chelsea midfielder coordinates Nigeria’s play and dictates the pace of the game with his calm and intelligent ball distribution. Behind Mikel are two ball winners, Ogenyi Onazi and the talented Wilfred Ndidi. They operate at the base of the midfield, acting as human shields for the back line. Both excel primarily in breaking up play but are far less convincing going forward as pivots. It is the major criticism of Nigeria’s midfield anchors: distribution and transition from defence to attack is often poor, a situation exacerbated whenever Mikel is unavailable. Rohr’s solution was to get Mikel as close to Onazi and Ndidi as possible – playing closer to the pivot than the centre-forward, Odion Ighalo, whose ability to alternate his movement keeps him from being isolated. His ability to combine smartly, dropping deep to hold up play while still managing to ghost into good scoring positions, has placed him at the spearhead of the attack. Kelechi Iheanacho remains a potent option off the bench. The attack is heavily reliant on the pace and guile of the Chelsea wing-back Moses. In Nigeria’s colours Moses is a virtuoso, adding verticality to the team’s play and speeding down the wings. Playing as a more out-and-out winger for the Super Eagles, he is the the most important player – capable of magical moments but also, at times, prone to overplaying. Rohr has stated the need for “great discipline” and “a great deal of mutual solidarity and communion”. Those traits are best embodied by the central defensive pairing of Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong. The pair share a deep bond and their relationship has created a solid defence that is difficult to breach. Balogun’s ball-playing abilities, matched with the imposing and physical style of Troost-Ekong, fit perfectly into the team’s style. Probable XI (3-5-2): Uzoho Balogun, Troost-Ekong, Ogu Abdullahi, Ndidi, Iwobi, Mikel, Idowu Ighalo, Moses Which player is going to surprise everyone at the World Cup? Francis Uzoho. For a goalkeeper that has just two made senior appearances for Deportivo La Coruña, Uzoho is perhaps fortunate to get into the World Cup squad but has a good command of his area and impressive shot-stopping ability. The 19-year-old is very likely to start in goal for Nigeria – putting him in illustrious company with the likes of Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu and Vincent Enyeama. Which player is likely to disappoint? Alex Iwobi’s poor form for Arsenal will leave many wondering if he can deliver for the Super Eagles. After a breakout season in 2015-16 the attacking midfielder has failed to kick on, often stuttering when presented with opportunities. Too often he appears on the fringes of a game, and will need to be more assertive this summer. What is the realistic aim for Nigeria at the World Cup and why? Given that they face arguably the toughest World Cup group there is the overwhelming possibility of an early elimination, but it is plausible that they can beat Croatia and Iceland to qualify for the round of 16. Much depends on the first game against Croatia. Source:https:www.empiregame.com.ng

Nigeria B will slug it out with Europa League reigning champions, Atletico Madrid at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo. The encounter tagged the GOtv MAX Cup is a hybrid friendly organised by MultiChoice Nigeria in collaboration with LaLiga. This is the first time the first time the Spaniards will be visiting the country, and they would be hoping to teach the Super Eagles a very harsh lesson. For Salisu Yusuf’s men, this is a fine chance for them to stake a claim for a permanent shirt in the senior national team - albeit they will play no part in the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia . The clash is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 pm (West African Time) on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Barcelona star Lionel Messi has retained the European Golden Shoe as the top scorer across all leagues in Europe. A little over a month ago, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah was the firm favourite to outscore all of his rivals but the Liverpool man scored just four Premier League goals after the end of March, and Messi has answered that with eight in La Liga. With 34 goals in his domestic league, Messi finished ahead of Salah by two. Tottenham's Harry Kane is third and finished on 30 goals. Lazio's Ciro Immobile, Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi and Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich were joint fourth with 29 goals. The Golden Shoe table is ranked on points rather than goals, with goals scored in Europe's top five leagues worth two points. Jonas of Benfica has scored 34 league goals this term, but strikes in the Portuguese league are only worth 1.5 points, which places him ninth in the standings. Messi had already won the award four times. Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has won it four times -- the first coming with Manchester United in 2007-08. Since 2008, La Liga has now provided 12 of the 13 winners, with Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan the other player from Spain to top the chart in 2008-09. This season, Ronaldo finished eighth with 26 goals. Barcelona's Luis Suarez who rounds out the top 10 with 25. The top 10: 1. Lionel Messi, Barcelona, 68 points (34 goals) 2. Mohamed Salah, Liverpool, 64 points (32) 3. Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur, 60 (30) 4. Ciro Immobile, Lazio, 58 (29) 4. Mauro Icardi, Inter Milan, 58 (29) 4. Malaria kills faster than any other sickness or diseases if not treated at the right time. If not well prevented it can lead to majority of the death rate recorded is caused by malaria. Young children mostly babies are prone to the effect of malaria and it's a devastating factor in the United States and all the countries in the world. Malaria is a disease that is spread by mosquitoes and caused by a parasite. It always result into what we called high fever. The feeling you have when your body temperature keep increasing and the inability to eat i.e non-appetite. Malaria is caused by parasite known as Anopheles mosquitoes which is a plasmodium that has several sub species. These parasites transport into the liver bloodstream and kills the red blood cells. The female anopheles travels to all countries and caused what we call Malaria . One thing about malaria is that it is not a disease that is contagious, person suffering from the infestation of this disease cannot spread it to another people. Malaria is never a Zoonotic disease that can be spread to animal from human. Mosquito is typed biting and chewing insects. They bite their host before their act is been noticed. It takes one to thirty days before incubation. There are majorly five types of these plasmodium disease that causes chronic infection. P.vivax is example of such and it's effect can not but put into consideration. HOW TO KNOW IF YOU ARE INFECTED There are some noticeable signs you will see between seven to thirty days after being bitten by female anopheles mosquito. The following are the noticeable signs; 1. Fever 2. Headache 3.Vomiting 4. General weakness 5. Body ache After bitten by these insects the first stage is cold which start with shivering and leads to mild fever, headache will follow and within 24 hours it leads to vomiting, if care is not taken the body will become weak and aching will be followed. Malaria if left untreated after the following noticeable symptoms then it leads to endemic one which later results into ; 1. Anaemia 2. Kidney failure 3. Cerebral malaria 4. Collapse 5. Low blood sugar TREATMENT The best treatment is to go for medical check up where your physician will put you under diagnosis in order to ascertain what is really wrong. Medication given includes: 1. Chloroquine WAYS TO PREVENT MALARIA malaria can be prevented if the following are properly practised. 1. Sleeping under treated mosquito nets. 2. Use of insecticides. 3. Wearing of protective clothing before going to bed e.g socks, overall etc. 4. Clearing all bushes surrounding the house. 5. Making sure that their is no stagnant water in the environment. www.empiregame.com.ng |
Manchester United claim three points from their arch rival on Saturday afternoon to stop them from crowing them as champion. Just like Fergie time United fight back to win the game after ist half shambic display from United players which allows Man City to take charge of the game earlier in the first half. I actually don't know what was going on on the pitch at Etihad in the first half because Manchester United didn't have any shot on target. Manchester City rested their key men in the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and also Sergio Kun Aguero. But they were still able to score their goals with Guodogan and Kompany just like he scored in April 2012 when they won the league. From crowing them as champion. Raheem Sterling misses some chances which would have been goal if it's other player, City dominated in the first half in the expense of Mourinho men. After the break, inside the dressing room we don't know what Mourinho told his player but one of my friend here said that he called Klopp to ask for the tactics that he used to finished them in the first leg of Champions League, that sounds funny and I can't stop laughing. Immediately after the half time break United produced their shots on target. Pogba scored two goals to change his name from Mourinho bad book through the help of Andre Herera but much credit will be given to the new no 7 Alexis Sanchez who is just adapting to what is called Manchester Derby, Chris Smalling finally nailed it all when he scored a volley to put the game to and end, city were beaten in their home soil. Had it been that city win this game they would had been crowned Champions this evening in front of their rival but the defeats leave them with six points to win the league for the third time and Pep first league in England as coach. Am so sad for him though. Manchester United will be challenging the league next season since they can produce some come back, it will boost their morale though little lapses need to be worked on. City main concern will be to make some upset against Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday. But I don't think that they will be able to knock out Liverpool so easily like that. www.empiregame.com.ng |
1. THE HONEYMOON STAGE: This is the first stage. We actually called it first stage because the two partners called couple are still new to each other and they can still tolerate so many things. They sleep together on the same bed, wear the same cloth and communicate very easily. At this stage the man is mostly in charge of the kitchen and he makes sure that his wife is satisfied in every aspect including bathing together. Sexual excitement is high and there is never an argument at this stage. Bringing coffee to the bed early in the morning is welcomed here and they tolerate themselves. They play games together, attend dinners and go out with the same outfit because they are still new to each other. No weakness is known here because they will have each other back and no flops or weakness is known. I can say that the love is still hot here, killing an ant by the woman will be difficult, calling the man is necessary since they are close to each other. If they are the working type, they tell stories about work and talk about their salaries. 2. THE WEAKNESS STAGE: This is the second stage. Little mistakes are easily noticed at this stage by the couple, the couple are getting fed up little by little. Self opinion will come out here. Most of the house chores will be done by the woman. Cooking and other house activities are outlined and individual will be assigned to which work to do. Going out together will be reduced, answering phone calls will be secretive. Salaries will be hidden from each other. Cooking must be done regularly at this stage and if the woman can't cook then that's a serious problem to the marriage. 3. THE ANNOYANCE STAGE: At this stage, they easily get anger and annoyed with a little thing. The introvert guy speak up his mind and same thing applicable to the woman. Serious of questions keep coming out like "why are we married in the first place", "who joined us together", "he or she is older than me", "am going back to my parents". Each and everyday, the love they profess at first will now be diminishing to the extent that to the couple nothing is new again since they have seen each other unclothedness. 4. THE SOLUTION STAGE: this is the fourth stage and at this stage the couple begin to know the essence of marriage. They begin to work out their differences and third party opinion is also seek for. Individual differences are noticed here. Since the couple knows their problem, opinion on how to resolve it are always welcome, changing your partner becomes easy. Problem identification and strategy to employ in other to solve it are listed out and the way out are provided but can the couple make use of it? 5. THE TOLERATING STAGE: When you realised that the only thing you can't change about your partner is her/his attitudes then you will just leave it like that and let her/him realised that you can't change the attitudes but in the midst of the flaw you still love him/her. You stay together to fight against the weakness and invite love back to the marriage because without love the family can't be strong and they are prone to collapse. Love will outshines each weakness and make the marriage stringer than what it is. 6. THE RELAXING STAGE: This is the last stage that you will allow your nerves and everything to relax. Agape love is shown between the couple in everything that they do. Loving unconditionally is make to stand here, loving in flaws, weaknesses and in pretense because you must allow peace to reign in your home so that you also will enjoy the reason for marriage and also for couple goals to be achieved. You allow God himself to reign over your marriage and be spiritual towards building an empire where your unborn child will come and stay and enjoy. People do say that they want perfect marriage butt I will tell them that there is no perfect marriage except you yourself build your marriage with these six stages and enjoy it for better. Marriage has flaws, huddles and disappointment but don't because of that quit or look for second wife. Like the proverb "except the Lord build the house, the builder buildeth in vain" Let God be at the centre of your marriage and you will enjoy it. Marriage should be handled with God wisdom. www.empiregame.com.ng |
Pollution can simply means the act of contaminating the environment by harmful substances. It can also be said to be the act of making air, water, land and the environment dirty and unsafe for use. When some things are introduced artificially into the environment it constitute what we call pollution e.g light. Pollution is a major barrier that must be addressed because it reduces the lifespan of human in so many aspects. Babies are given birth to with defects which arises from pollution and over 2 million people are affected nationwide. Toxic substances released to the environment add to what is known as pollution. TYPES 1. LAND POLLUTION Land can be polluted in so many ways. Garbages and industrial wastes are the major constituent of land pollution. Most of the wastes are gathered in landfills yearly making the land to be polluted. Paper waste, food waste, yard trimming, plastics, glass, metals, woods, leather and other miscellaneous materials made up what pollute the land on everyday basis. Commercial or industrial waste is a significant portion of solid waste, some of the waste are classified as hazardous and non hazardous. The hazardous waste is any liquid, solid or sludge waste that contain properties that are dangerous of potentially harmful to human health or the environment which includes waste from mining, petroleum refining, pesticide manufacturing and other chemical production. The nonhazardous includes construction material (wood, concrete, bricks, glass, etc.) and medical waste (bandages, surgical gloves, surgical instruments, discarded needles, etc.). 2.WATER POLLUTION Water pollution take place when chemicals or dangerous foreign substances are introduced to water, including chemicals, sewage, pesticides and fertilizers from agricultural runoff, or metals like lead or mercury. All these renders water unsafe for fishing and swimming. Most water contaminants includes bacteria, mercury, phosphorus and nitrogen. Most of the water that are available in little quantity are contaminated and make unfit for drinking, the rural people are seriously suffering from this problem. Adequate sanitation helps to keep sewage and other contaminants from entering the water supply. It's not only human that water pollution affects it's also affects the Marine life like fish etc. Sewage encourages pathogen growth. Warming water is called thermal pollution because most of the water are warmed by big factories towards cooling their power plants in the process holding oxygen which kills the fish and wildlife that is present inside the water. The sudden change of temperature in the body of water can also kill fish. Nutrient pollution, also called eutrophication, is another type of water pollution. It is when nutrients, such as nitrogen, are added into bodies of water. The nutrient works like fertilizer and makes algae grow at excessive rates, according to NOAA . The algae blocks light from other plants. The plants die and their decomposition leads to less oxygen in the water. Less oxygen in the water kills aquatic animals. 3. AIR POLLUTION The air we breathe has a very exact chemical composition; 99 percent of it is made up of nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor and inert gases. Air pollution occurs when unfit substances enter into air. Air is polluted during sweeping of floor because some tiny dust particles are added to air which make it difficult to breathe. Another common type of air pollution is dangerous gases, such as sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and chemical vapors. These can take part in further chemical reactions once they are in the atmosphere, creating acid rain and smog. Other sources of air pollution can come from within buildings, such as cooking smoke. Finally, air pollution can take the form of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide or sulfur dioxide, which are warming the planet through the greenhouse effect. Most life are lost through air pollution yearly according to world health. An irritant (e.g. particulates less than 10 micrometers) may cause respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular disease and increases in asthma. "The very young, the old and those with vulnerable immune systems are most at risk from air pollution. The air pollutant may be carcinogenic (e.g. some volatile organic compounds) or biologically active (e.g. some viruses) or radioactive (e.g. radon). Other air pollutants like carbon dioxide have an indirect impact on human health through climate change. 4.NOISE POLLUTION Noise can't be seen but we can still feel the effect on human and in the environment. Noise pollution happens when the sound coming from planes, industry or other sources reaches harmful levels. Unexpected noise from vehicle(ambulance), beating of drums reduces human lifespan on daily basis. |
Climate is known to be The long-term manifestations of weather and other atmospheric conditions in a given area or country, now usually represented by the statistical summary of its weather conditions during a period long enough to ensure that representative values are obtained (generally 30 years). Changes in climate poses a fundamental threat to animals, humans, oceans, livelihood and work that human engaged in. Climate change is a threat that we all must stand up and address or else we will be carried away by the devastating effects of it in our community and largely our nation's. To address this issue we must begin with reduction of carbon pollution and educate the people about global warming which is already in action. CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE the following are major factors that contributes to the way in which Ozone layer is being depleted as a result of climate change: 1. FOSSIL FUELS The rate at which different gases are being emitted is very pivotal in climate change, gasses from fossil fuels that are burnt continually in excess must be checkmate in order to curb it. Human add carbon dioxide Co2 to the environment by burning fossil fuels(coal, oil and natural gas) in exchange for energy. This acts results into weakening the thick blanket (green house) which doesn't permit the sun from reaching us on earth. But due to excessive burning of all these gas is damaging the blanket and the temperature reaching earth is becoming alarming and if care is not taken the whole blanket may be gone. The excessive burning is responsible for increase in global temperature which is responsible for unpredictable weather, drought, heat waves and intense rainfall. 2.DEFORESTATION The process of destroying a forest and replacing it with something else, especially by an agricultural system. The forest serves as a source of Oxygen and production of green house gases which helps in making the environment convulsive for both human and animals. In supplying oxygen it also destroys carbon dioxide that are emitted to the environment but when all these trees are destroyed it renders the environment useless and make life unbearable for both parties. Deforestation leads to climate change and it destroys the outlook of the environment and also damage the greenhouse that we are protecting. Logging and clearing land for agriculture or livestock release huge amounts of carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. It also diminishes those regions’ ability to absorb carbon pollution. It exposes the soil to direct sun intensity. REASONS FOR DEFORESTATION The major reasons for deforestation is as follows; 1. Construction of roads, bridges and schools. 2.Construction of industries 3.construction of houses 4. Felling for use as fire woods 5. Felling for use as raw materials for industries. Deforestation exposes us all to the devastating effects of the sun 3. GAS EMISSIONS Carbon dioxide are emitted in almost every aspect of human life e.g emissions from vehicles, and industrial chimney have a major role to play when it comes to climate change. All these acts destroys the greenhouse and set death trap for human and animals as the day go by. WAY OUT With majority of the problems cited the solution to climate change lies in our hands because scientifically humans are the major actor in climate change. It is human acts that results in what we named climate change. The way out are: 1.Deforestation must be combated, in order to curb deforestation afforestation must be strictly practiced and if possible it must be prohibited. 2. Engage with businesses to reduce gas emissions 3. challenge everybody to prepare for global warming 4.help people to formulate policy that will reduce gas pollution 5.Use satellite images and aerial mapping technologies to track illegal logging 6.Study the vulnerability of forests to climate change and explore ways to help them adapt. 7. Secure access to fresh water during drought 8. Carbon pollution should be reduced. www.empiregame.com.ng |

The Managing Director of Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Engineer Buhari Bature, has said the Goronyo Dam water level has depleted by 90 per cent and that this is the worst in the dam in over 25 years. He explained that the water level was noted to have depleted by 90 percent of its installed one billion cubic meter capacity, and that the problem had affected water supply to water board and irrigation farming in Sokoto and Kebbi states. Speaking when he conducted Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal round the dam site, the SRRBDA MD attributed the prevailing situation to shortage of rainfall in 2017, climate change and lack of desilting of the dam. In a remark after inspecting the dam, Governor Aminu Tambuwal described the depletion as alarming. “The reservoir of Goronyo Dam was constructed to hold one billion cubic meter of water but as we’ve seen today, the water in it is just about 100 million cubic meter. This has resulted in inadequate supply to the water board and in effect, we had to resort to rationing water to the people,” he stated He however said proactive measures had been taken to boost water supply to the people pending when the rains would come and increase the volume of water in the dam. www.9ralands..com

On behalf of the Government and good people of Benue State, I welcome the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari to Benue State, the Food Basket of the Nation. As a helpless child in trouble looks forward to the rescue by a father, so the people of Benue looked forward to seeing you. Welcome sir. Benue people have always believed in you which is why we voted massively for you in the 2015 General Elections. You are our father and we appreciate your visit here in the hope that our lingering challenges will be over. You are known as a man of integrity and uprightness and you have always fought for justice. Your Excellency, on January 11, 2018, we buried 73 citizens, including women and children. All of them were brutally slaughtered in their sleep by armed herdsmen in the early hours of the New Year 2018. At least 65 more have been killed in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas after the mass burial. Just a few days ago, 26 of our men, women and children in Okpokwu Local Government Area were killed. Also over 5,000 people were displaced in Mbatoho Community in Makurdi Local Government Area. Attacks by armed herdsmen have continued in various communities in the State leading to the displacement of over 170,000 people. More than 60 percent of this figure are children who have been forced out of school. These and many others now live in the eight Internally Displaced People’s Camps scattered across the State namely: Abagana, Daudu1 and 2, Gbajimba, Tse Ginde, Anyiin, Abeda and Ugba. Their homes and farms have also been destroyed and taken over by armed herdsmen. Mr. President, thank you for your response to these attacks. You quickly directed the Inspector General of Police to relocate to Benue and stop the killings. Issues of capacity and integrity may have accounted for the disobedience of your orders but you responded swiftly. At your directives, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) also distributed some Relief Materials to the IDP Camps. Given the enormity of the situation, this was like a drop in the ocean. Thank you for the deployment of the Police Special Forces which proved useful in reducing the attacks. Some of the gallant Police and Civil Defence Officers paid the supreme price in trying to keep the peace. Our sympathies go to their families and loved ones. Your Excellency, we plead with you to take steps to reduce the suffering of the over 170,000 of our countrymen in the Eight Internally Displaced Camps. The Federal Government should compensate them and assist in the rebuilding of their homes as promised by the Committee on Displaced People headed by the Vice President. The Primary and Secondary Schools, Churches and Health Centres destroyed in several communities should be rebuilt for use again. When I was sworn in May, 2015, one of the first things our Administration did was to organize an Amnesty Programme for youths who had armed themselves and were creating some security challenges in the State. The Amnesty was done in the open and over 700 weapons and thousands of ammunitions were returned. The Presidential Committee on Small Arms and Light Weapons and the United Nations contracted the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) of South Africa to supervise the destruction of weapons and ammunitions surrendered by the over 900 persons under the Programme. The Amnesty Programme was our own way of telling everyone that we cannot condone lawlessness in the State. We set out to reform our youths and stabilize our rural areas as we promote agriculture. Our conviction is that the formation of militia does not bring peace. It only promotes lawlessness, impunity and instability. We have also eliminated thuggery in our Government. The challenge we have however, is about Terwase Akwaza, alias Ghana, the notorious gang leader who has been terrorizing Benue and Taraba States. He has been declared wanted and a bounty of N50 million has been placed for information on him. We hope that Exercise Ayem Akpatuma or its upgraded version will help us arrest and bring him to justice. Indeed we request that the exercise be upgraded to an operation with the capacity to chase away the invaders so that those who have been displaced can return to their homes. Although concerted attacks on communities in the State commenced in 2011, between 2013-2017, Forty-Seven attacks were recorded and over 1,878 men, women and children were slaughtered in cold blood across 14 Local Government Areas of the State. Another 750 were seriously wounded while 200 were missing. Over 99,427 households were affected. We have lost an average of 47% of Internally Generated Revenues due to attacks by armed herdsmen in the State. This underscores the problem between herdsmen and farmers. It was clear to us that increased population, shrinking arable land, global warming and desertification as well as the need to diversify the economy through farming, all make open grazing unattractive. Through consultations and research, we discovered that the global best practice for animal husbandry is Ranching. Top countries in the global cattle business such as India, Brazil, USA, South Africa; Kenya and Zimbabwe, are known to practice ranching. It takes proper care of Livestock to ensure quality meat and dairy products and minimizes cattle rustling. Your Excellency, this is the logic behind our popular Law, “Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law, 2017”. I urge anyone who has a superior method other than Ranching to bring it to the table. The Law duly passed by the Benue State House of Assembly reflects the wishes of the Benue people. On 30th May, 2017, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore in a ‘World Press Conference’ held in Abuja, opposed the Ranching Law. They called on Fulani herders in all of West Africa to come into Benue to help them reclaim their land. In the same vein, Miyetti Allah Cattle Herders Association in their Press Conference declared that more blood will flow in Benue if the Ranching Law is not rescinded. Your Excellency, as a President that supports the Rule of Law, you will most certainly be offended by these Hate Speeches that may have crossed the red line. Your Excellency, how can a group claim responsibility for the killings that happened and are going about scot free? How can a group make public these inciting and criminal declarations in an organized society and are not arrested by the Police? Your Excellency, kindly order the immediate arrest and prosecution of the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and Miyetti Cattle Breeders Association for carrying out their threats to attack Benue on account of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law, 2017. Recent Security Reports before Your Excellency, indicate that the Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) are accomplices in the massacres in Benue State. If these Reports on Benue and other parts of the country are true, they have enormous implications for national security. There may be a need to strengthen the enforcement of the ECOWAS Protocol by directing the Nigeria Immigration Service to do the needful. Your Excellency, distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not good time to tell you about our spectacular achievements in the area of education where over 711 Schools have been renovated and 16,000 Teachers retrained. We need not recount strides in the Health Sector where the moribund Schools of Nursing and Midwifery as well as College of Health Technology Agasha earlier closed down have been renovated, accredited and reopened. After 12 years instead of the normal 6 years in MedicalSchool, we graduated 152 students of the Benue State University Medical School. We wish to appreciate the partnership between Federal Government and our State in the area of Sustainable Development Goals as well as Universal Basic Education. We have empowered youth and women through effective collaboration with Central Bank of Nigeria and Bank of Industry. We have massive rural development in terms of rural roads, rural electrifications, bridges and Skills Acquisition Centers. We have also completed various projects in the areas of Water and Sanitation. Your Excellency, to reduce the burden of the State Government, we ask you to take over the running of some institutions in Benue State. We plead that the Federal Government takes over Benue State University Teaching Hospital. Benue State is the only State that does not have a Federal College of Education and Federal Polytechnic. We request the take-over of the College of Education, Katsina-Ala and Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo by the Federal Government. We also plead with you to direct the rehabilitation and dualization of Makurdi – Otukpo – Enugu Road; Makurdi – Gboko – Katsina-Ala Road and Gboko – Vandeikya – Obudu Road that are each in a terrible state of disrepair. The Makurdi – Agasha – Wukari Road will ease our communication with Taraba and Plateau States and a Bridge at Buruku on River Katsina-Ala will link other parts of the State and Taraba. These have large population of the State that is engaged in farming that has turned Benueinto the Food Basket of the Nation. The people of Benue identify with the reconciliation efforts by Senator Ahmed Tinubu who is carrying out your mandate. The Benue people also appreciates Mr. President for the appointments made from the State, we still hope that more appointments will be made so as to cement the relationship between Mr. President, the Party and the State. The issue of backlog of Salaries remains intractable. Part of the problem of Salaries was inherited from the past Government. In spite of your efforts with Bailout Funds and Paris Club Refunds which we appreciate, the challenge still remains due to the high wage bill in the average of N7.8billion which we inherited. We request for a grant or soft loan to be able to pay the arrears even as we have taken steps to stabilize regular salary payment with effect from January this year. Your Excellency let me conclude by calling on the Federal Government and States, to support and promote the Ranching Law, so that together, we will stamp out the menace of herdsmen and farmers attacks and cattle rustling in Nigeria. There is no known better and credible alternative to Ranching. Once again, welcome to Benue State. www.9ralands..com

The move would allow the current President Xi Jinping to remain as leader after he is due to step down. There had been widespread speculation that Mr Xi would seek to extend his presidency beyond 2023.

I put together a list of indisputably successes, from movie stars to scientists, who experienced great failure before they found fame and fortune. Weaker people might have given up. Instead, these folks remained focused on their goals. Some of them even change the world. 1. Oprah Winfrey was publicly fired from her first television job as an anchor in Baltimore for getting "too emotionally invested in her stories."But Winfrey didn't give up as she later, she tried again and became the undisputed queen of television talk shows before amassing a media empire. Today she is worth a cool $3 billion, according to Forbes. 2.Colonel Harland David Sanders was sacked from several jobs before establishing a fried chicken empire. He traveled across the U.S. looking for someone to sell his fried chicken, and after finally getting a business deal in Utah, Kentucky Fried Chicken was born. KFC is now one of the most recognizable franchises in the world, with over 18,000 locations . 3. This one looks so funny, Sir Isaac Newton's mother pulled him out of school as a boy so that he could run the family farm. He failed miserably but failing is not the end he later went to school and became a guru in Physics and Mathematics. 4. Thomas Edison's teachers told him he was "too stupid to learn anything". That's enough to stop him from making it in life but he didn't allow that one to discourage him but it motivated him to succeed. He was later fired from his later two jobs for not been productive but that didn't stop him. Edison went on to hold more than 1,000 patents and invented some world-changing devices , like the phonograph, practical electrical lamp, and a movie camera. That's awesome. 5.Albert Einstein's communication and behavioral problems were not indicative of a lack of intelligence. He went on to win the Nobel prize in physics for the discovery of the photoelectric effect , and his special theory of relativity theory corrected the deficiencies of Newtonian physics. Finally, Steve Jobs was a college drop out, a fired tech executive and an unsuccessful businessman. At 30-years-old he was left devastated after being unceremoniously removed from the company he founded. In a 2005 Commencement speech and Stanford University, Jobs explained, I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life". After his return to Apple, Jobs created several iconic products, including the iPod , iPhone and iPad which have changed the face of consumer technology forever. And Jobs became one of the richest in the world. Benjamin Franklin once said: “The man who does things makes many mistakes, but he never makes the biggest mistake of all - doing nothing.” Many of the world’s wealthiest people have failed in business, some more than once. What sets them apart from other ‘failures’ is their ability to learn from their experiences and put failure behind them. We should never be afraid to fail; only to fail to learn from our failures. Failure can be a great teacher – it teaches us what not to do. Our lives are filled with goal-setting and working to achieve those goals, and when we do something that doesn’t get us where we want to be we can choose to either give up or to try something else. And at that point we already know one approach that won’t work. Failure is a motivator. Nobody likes to fail and it can make us even more determined to find success. Failure is never seen as the end result of a drive toward a goal; it’s only a setback. This ability to fall and rise again builds character in a person...Culled from Cornerstone Business solution. Don't doubt yourself. Obstacles are out there. They are meant to be overcomed. No adventure worth undertaking is easy. Everyone who achieves success faces obstacles. What makes (or breaks) a person is how they react to the obstacles and road blocks in their life and what they do (or do not do) to overcome these setbacks. Take a hint from the successful people who have failed and do not let these obstacles hold you back. Remeber!! 'if you have never failed then you have never lived'. Now let me know about YOUR missteps and failures. What have you learned? Perhaps some historic figure has inspired you that way that the successful people who have failed above have inspired me.
