Well-tarred roads only Abuja can boast of.
Good electricity supply.
Tech city. Perfect for remote workers.
The most secure and peaceful state in Nigeria.
Best ease of doing business in the whole of Southern Nigeria and number 4 as whole.
Great night life.
Akwa Ibom is built as a tourist city. Every Governor must follow a blueprint.
I have all of these on offer and I'd settle for the madness and insecurity of Lagos? God forbid! Interesting. Lagos mad true true, but na the economic hub of Africa. |

larride: Well as right as you are, the constitution accord every citizens the right to live and do business in any part of the country they like. That right is sacrosanct and must be respected.
It is on those that come to other people's land to respect the culture, tradition and way of life of the owners of the land. That I sell land to you does not give you the right to say the state as a whole belongs to nobody. It is a fallacy that cannot stand.
All we should be preaching is respecting each other and know when to draw the line, if not the state govt will be pressured to take a stand and it can all goes sideways from there. No, keep encouraging people to sell all their ancestral lands and later be claiming rights. When they overtake your land for your stupidity, you only have yourself to blame. Some greedy people no know say no be everything you dey sell. I gave you examples of how countries like the US, the UK, and many others limit immigrants coming into their country. Soon, Lagos will adopt the same method to solve the problem of population explosion/congestion and prevent many people from a particular ethnic group from dominating the state. I don't have to explain this point further to any smart person. |

liveLongNprospa: You think an inability to speak your native language shows you are a slave and you don't value your culture or said language? Mostly, but not always. GRV's own is inexcusable. It's inexcusable if you grow up in Nigeria, and as an adult, you detest your language and culture while you promote the foreign ones. However, if you're raised overseas, that's understandable. Still, don't expect people to support you if you come back home and want to run for a gubernatorial post without being able to speak the local language fluently. |

larride: Theres really nothing bad about selling lands and accommodating people especially in a cosmopolitan city. Everyone is welcome.
It is when you start thinking because the state is a cosmopolitan one then you can spit on the tribal owners of the land that it turns into problem.
Inclusiveness does not mean weakness. When you take in some many people from other ethnic group and sell most of your ancestral lands to them, they'd overtake your land. It's a no-brainer. It's this same reason that countries like the US, the UK, Canada and many others have a maximum of number of immigrants they accept yearly. Also, it's for the same reason why they make it hard for immigrants to become citizens. They do so to prevent nonsense like "Lagos is a no man's land". You can be inclusive and accommodating, but know where to draw the line. |

DissTroy: This isn't about GRV. I barely know his antecedence and leaders have to be judged based on antecedence.
It's about Obi and the seething hatred anyone seemingly from his tribe who leans twoaeds him has been getting.
These people are campaigning against him because GRV has an Igbo mother. Chinedu is being used as rallying call against him and not him not speaking Yoruba (which he should). His affiliation with Obi is making him being labeled IPOB.
The Governor of Ondo State has an Igbo wife. Are you saying his children with her are less Yrouba because of their mother? Gov. Adeleke has Igbo maternal ancestry so did it make him less Yoruba? Even on Facebook and Twitter, GRV's Igbo maternal link is being used against.
Even Kemi Adeosun couldn't speak Yoruba but it wasn't an issue.
The kangaroo packaged herbalist A.K.A Oko Oloyun can keep going with his hypocritical tribal hatred but he should know some of us saw the ruse in his hyped neutrality long ago and called it. His continued prayer should include people he deals with oflline not finding out he's a hateful tribal bigot online. The key issue here is GRV's inability to speak Yoruba fluently. Kemi Adeosun didn't serve as governor of any Yoruba state. The important thing is not him marrying a Fulani or Igbira or Igbo or having an Igbo mum, if you want to serve as governor in a state, you need to be able to speak the language of the people you want to lead. He can be a Chinedu. It doesn't matter. The main thing is being able to speak the language fluently. Those Nigerians that won electoral posts in foreign countries understand the language of the people they want to serve. The local language is a key requirement in serving as governor in a state. I know many Yorubas (myself inclusive) that supported Obi despite the fact that he's an Igbo. He wants to lead Nigeria, not an Igbo state, and he's qualified to lead the country. However, GRV isn't qualified to govern a people he doesn't understand their language. I always see people that can't speak their native language as a disgrace. |

Better to lease lands for some time to them so they don't start claiming ownership of other people's heritage while guarding theirs jealously back at home.
