If you and hubby can get 8777 in IELTS with your ECAs, you will be in 460. Try retaking the test
Okay, i guess thats the next step.. we both have to read more.. i tot i could request for a remark but again my handwriting isnt clear so a part of me thinks that might have pulled me down a bit

Of course you can apply but you need to deal with the IELTS score first.
Province doesn't matter because you'll have enough points for an ITA, so choose any province you like.
Spend some time reading through page 1, you won't regret it
Okay will do just that... it was a bit overwhelming for me but i appreciate your response

It seems you would need to be the PA since you have masters and cos of your age. Kindly re-write your ielts and aim for 8777 (LRSW) then evaluate your master degree, you can use WES since its from UK so you would need to go through the WAEC wahala....You can also ask your hubby to write ielts and evaluate his own bsc. when you do all this ..i bet you, your crs score would be above 445 which is enough for you to get ITA.....
Thank you for the response, i will do just that..

Thank you. I am just too happy.. Honesty is key and i am thankful to God.

dere5:
I'm so,so happy for you, favour found you. I must confess after reading your first post,I was one of those that though that you had an almost impossible task ahead of you convincing the VO that you didn't know that you were pregnant when you got the visa, because that's the line a lot of people use after intentionally lying during interview, but I guess God saw your honest heart and granted you favour. Not a common occurrence at all.

OmoBendel24:
Well, well, well.... Congrats! Genuinely, though not a VO, by normal assessment; from your first post, the transcript and now this (a scheme of this nature I think some years ago messed peeps up previous year seriously), so much negatives that one would have expected some sort of refusal, but then you got approved. Spectacular, congrats once more!
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by aamey15: 6:50pm On Dec 19, 2017
Really, I guess its just his opinion, cz In my mind I was like.. this aint expensive at all.

Omodadi2:
Yes I know about d package, just wondering that the VO said its high. Someone spent 5500 in total and she said here that the VO said that amount is low and assumed Gov must have paid part of the bill
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by aamey15: 6:05pm On Dec 19, 2017
About 4,000 in total.. but I don't think they do it anymore...a friend said they had stopped the package

Omodadi2:
Congrats to your family.
Please what is your total cost for the package?

Hello Everyone,
So hubby, my son and I just got our Visa approved today but ehn it wasn't easy oo...
Find below the conversation between us and the VO
VO: Hello good afternoon, sorry for keeping you waiting
Hubby: Its fine thank you
VO: Can I have your passports please
Hubby: Gave him
VO: he looked through it and was like okay, where are you going to, how long will you be dere for and where will you be staying
Hubby: 2 week, Chicago and with my uncle
VO: I See you travelled in November last year why and for how long
Hubby: Stated everything( hubby for 2 weeks and myself and son for 4 month- We went for a family vacation and we stayed back to have my daughter
VO: At your interview in June 2015 you said you were going for 2 weeks and not seeking medical attention
Hubby: At the time we didn't know we were pregnant as i was still breastfeeding my son..so we just wanted to go for holiday. When we found out I fell ill and couldn't travel so we all decided to travel in November and I sent a change of Intent to notify the ambassy
VO: WELL THE CHANGE OF INTENT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE
me: Oh really.. i didn't know
VO: When did you have your daughter
Me: xx feb 2016
VO: Counting the number of months with his fingers to reconfirm what I said( At this point I was thing chai wahala dey o)
Where did you have you daughter and can i have her passport pls
Me: Cook county hospital John Stroger
VO: Can I have proof of that please
Me: Hands over all receipts, zero balance and invoices
VO: Who was your doctor
Me: Dr xxxxx, then I handed over the records of all my antenatal visits with her ( I kept everything oo thank God)
VO: Looks through the receipts and exclaimed whao so expensive, what about the dr's fee..
Me: I explained that it was all encompassing( John stronger has a package for self pay.. I dunno if they have anymore but the cost was about small for dr, birth and pead so I showed him the breakdown)..in my mind I was like expensive ke... great bargain oo.. I just kept quiet
VO: Kept on writing and writing. he asked hubby and my self what we do and where we work..
Hubby and I answered
VO: Where else have you travelled to:
Hubby: Hajj last year,
VO: Asked me if I went with him..
Me: I said I didn't coz I was still breast feeding my daughter at the time...
VO: OKAY.. typed for another like 3 -4mins...
Handed over our documents and said we should pick our visa..
VO: Please when next you are going to birth abroad please you need to get a medical visa, the change of intent does not go into your individual files do we don't have records of such.Sending it does not make a difference you have to schedule a new interview for medical visa
Me and Hubby: Okay we will do
Thank God we got it oo.. glad I said the truth and I am truly happy.

quote author=aamey15 post=63362716]Hello everyone,
Please i need you advise. I travelled in nov 2015 and had my baby in Cook county hospital Chicago. In February 2016. left USA in march 2016. When i got the visa i didnt know i was pregnant.. was probably 1 and half months gone ..so when we eventually pregnant and decided to travel to have my daughter i sent a change of intent stating i was travelling with my son(a year snd half) and hubby. At POE we stated that i was gonna stay for 4 montha and hubby was staying for 2 weeks(he had a training). Paid all my bills and got receipts before i left
This year hubby and i changed jobs and all so we just applied to renew our visa (dropbox)since we both have not been able to travel... now they have invited all of us for a face to face interview.. i dunno y oo..
Please can anyone advise me... thank you
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by aamey15: 11:33am On Dec 18, 2017
Thank you..i think the issue is the fact that i got the visa for visit prupose and i found out i was pregnant i fell ill so couldnt travel... so we just lumped the holiday and birth together.

quote author=Omodadi2 post=63373081]

Inviting ppl for interview isnt a new thing anymore so dont be surprised. If you read some pages backwards, youll see various scenarios of ppl who declared, paid, and didnt overstay yet called for interview, i'm awaiting mine too. Got our visas for birth purpose and paid all bills. DH was granted at dropbox while i was asked to schedule interview. Just gather your documents and pray. wish us d best!
Thank you i will take all the required documents ...i appreciate your response

Like others here have responded to your concerns about the US embassy requiring you and your spouse to appear in person for a follow-up interview...just make sure you take along all the itemized bills and receipts of payments you made after child birth as well as the hospital clearing you of any hidden charges you might not be aware of.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by aamey15: 7:46pm On Dec 17, 2017
Yes i did...mentioned it...they just stamped our passports and told us to go..asked if we had food or alcohol..we had just baby food so we were cleared.

Didnt spend 5mins with the POE...i was even surprised.

When we arrived at atl airport, they directed all pple with small kids or pregnant to the priority check in so we had to enter our details ourselves into a screen..i think citizens too used the same screen..

We were totally cleared and we stated our intent...
So surprised at the interview call.

justwise:
Did you mention that you are there to have your baby?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by aamey15: 4:21pm On Dec 17, 2017
I stated at the point of entry that i will be staying for 4 months and hubby for 2 weeks which we did. So was stamped for 6 months. I truly didnt know i was pregnant cz i was breastfeeding my son at the time. When i found out i was pregnant i was advised to send a change of intent to the embassy which i did.

dere5:
Lile someone rightly said,It's quite obvious why they want to see you. Did you use the visa for what it was gotten for? You stayed for 4 months, did you state at your visa interview that you were going to be away for 4 months?
I sincerely hope that they believe you when you tell them that you were not aware that you were pregnant when you got the visa,a lot lies on you to try to convince them that truly you were unaware. Go with all your receipts and zero balance.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by aamey15: 3:00pm On Dec 17, 2017
Thanks for your response i truly appreciate it,
I guess i am just surprised because i sent a change of intent before we travelled and felt that will suffice.

Do we need to take my daughter with us for the interview.

quote author=ugoguchy post=63364593]

Is obvious why the called you all, you didn't declare your intention to have your baby at the interview (like you said u ,u werent aware then ),schedule an appointment and go with your receipts, best of luck...
Thank you for your prompt response, you seem to know alot. Please did u use the Dr and can i send you a mail for direct questions.
Also i couldnt go through all the pages of thread 2(almost 400 pages) so if u can pls give a summary of your experience or knowlegde of the Chicago POE i will really really appreciate it.

LadyGuinivere:
Congrats on ur pregnancy.
Apparently you have been going through this thread. Questions 1,2 and 4 is the reason Why this thread was created.a simple yes or no will not help u. Rather a lil research and perusal of stories and experiences will Better guide u.
People that used chicago did and posted and went on with their lives.
Poe experiences Are Practically on EVERY page.
Tip: these stories always start with 'in the spirit of giving back...' cheesy
As for no 3. Take enough money to support every thing u intend to do. Your lifestyle and others are Not the same. Calculate your fees , accomodation, feeding, shopping, warriffa u want to do and carry. Again, as u read thru , you l see the amounts other folks cited.
Cheers
Thank you for your prompt response, i guess i will go through the pages one after the other for answers, but if you come across any information kindly provide them. Best regards
