enochogaga: there is big difference between elepaq and elepaq constant, elepaq constant is the new product of elepaq, bro i believe ur gen is elepaq not constant, i do advise people to buy elepaq also, 1. i believe ur avr is having fault gradually. 2. so many things can be responsible, it can be ur oil alert switch, plug, plug cab, shortage or fuel, and leaking of valves. 3. no engine that as no firing speed adjuster point or screw. so let the engineer go back to workshop. 4. where are this ur engineer frm?. how can a rechargeable battery cant be charge externally, but the truth is, ur gen as the charging system that charges ur battery when the gen is on, is either ur gen charging system is not working or ur battery is dead, but ur gen battery can be remove frm the gen to charge externally. Thank you very much prof, the generator is constant elepaq, see the pictures below:

enochogaga: dont buy constant elepaq, there are so many ways to spot fake gen,1 the write up, 2. the 100% copper write up, 3. the body build up. just many Prof, please why did you advised him not to go for Constant elepaq? I have been using mine since 2013 (4800E) and it is still working and as neat as a new one. It has 100% copper. it developed fault late last year, and the technician advised that I needed to change the coil after confirming that the gen is an original Elepaq, with the name engraved on every part of the gen. He bought a new 100℅ coil which was removed from a new generator (follow come) and it is working fine. I was advised to stop using it to power pumping machine and other high energy consumption devices. please, I need your advice on the following: 1. a week after changing the coil, after working for minutes, the power would just fluctuate very high and returned to normal within some seconds. Though it has stopped now, but what could be the cause? 2. Recently, the gen sometimes went off by itself with enough oil and petrol, what is the likely cause? 3. If the number 2 above happen, it takes time before it can be powered again, it won't start until it is cool. what is likely the problem. 4. is it true that the firing speed of this particular gen cannot be adjusted? the technician told me that it is fixed and cannot be adjusted. 5. Finally, Is it true that the kick-start battery can never be recharged when it is down, hence, the need to buy another one? Thanks. |

Preator: I agree that NERC has hitherto been a toothless dog not because of lack of power to curtail the excesses of some of this discos but because of lack of political will as well as complicity (allegedly due to naira changing hands). however, just about a month or two ago, they went into high drive.
the complaint procedure was in my previous post. for IKEDC, the forum office is at 199 awolowo way, alausa, Ikeja lagos .ikejaforum@nercng.org. 0810- 6817298 Thank you very much, I will get in touch with the forum. |

Preator: most people do not realize that they can actually contest their bills or get out of the clutches of the DISCos.
option 1. a) apply for a meter at around 40k
b) pay 1k per month for a year to load it or 2k depending on availability in ur area and ur load. that's 24k
c) total cost of option 1, less than 70k.
d) remain on ur old meter or direct connection(which is worse) and be billed an average of 10k a month( 120k a year) u can do the CBA.
option 2. a) contest ur crazy bill with ur disco
b) they will most likely investigate and access ur load vis-à-vis availability in ur area and try to adjust ur billing(I've done this successfully)
c) if u are not satisfied, go to the NERC forum in ur area and escalate. u will most likely get better satisfaction here.
d) for this plan to work, please ensure that u av a functional meter(even if it is analog), and u do not have any irregularities in ur connection( meter bypass, shunting, double feeding, wire hanging etc) if u do, NERC forum go sama u better fine. please, I will like to know how you escalated the issue to the appropriate authority because I'm having the same issue. IKEDC refused to provide prepaid meter to us claiming that they are metering their customers in batches (i.e area by area) but giving us outrageous crazy bill on a monthly basis. The directive given by NERC that no unmetered customer must be billed more than 200kwh per month is totally disregarded by the distribution companies. NERC remains a completely toothless bulldog. So how can we channel our complain to the appropriate authority? |

EazyMoh: You mean Zakat. Well Zakat is no way near tithe in similarity. I know you but for the sake of others reading here's a summary. For a Muslim to be qualified to pay zakat he must keep a minimum of N641,770 or its equivalent in other currency (called Nisab) for a complete one year. This condition alone excludes 80% of Nigerian Muslims. Out of that he only pays 2.5%, and it's never given to any Imam, Alfa or whoever! It's strictly given out to the needy, orphans, and others. Zakat is opposite Tithe, Zakat is from the rich to the poor, while tithe is from the poor to the rich! I love the way you analysed it. |

Dangote Group is not truthful about the statement particularly concerning its Nigerian staff affected. The Group claiming that most of them have disciplinary issues, this is not true as the company just used this as a cover up to protect the image of the company. Mass retrenchment is very common in the group. It has been frequently carried out since 2014 but not usually made public. This year alone, the Head Office (excluding all the Subsidiary companies) has carried out mass retrenchment more than two times before this one. This set was only made public because it affected some expatriates. |

ETHIX: Please don't be fooled and don't be ignorant of time and season. Every year around August and September there is usually improvement in the power supply due to the rain. This has nothing to do with any minister or government. But wait tI'll October you will experience the status quo.
Likewise in April to June every year there is usually shortage of tomatoes pepper etc. It also has nothing to do with the government. Natural effects takes place for the improvement in power supply and the scarcity of tomatoes.
Although the govt can do something to improve the situation but no government has done nothing till now but people hail and abuse the government in power due to their level of ignorance. Though you're partially right, but like I said earlier, for the past 30+ years, this is the first time I experienced uninterrupted electricity supply for days without even a seconds interruption. So, why is this year different from the past? |

BiniShrine: We have a new system in place which now makes it possible for the low monthly bill you are getting not minding the increase in energy. Sir, if you can check the Distribution Transformer supplying your area you would have noticed it has a METER inside. This enables accurate energy supply to me measured on each DT(distribution transformer), which we can now used in billing our meterd and unmeterd customers on that particular DT. Also, the reduction in ENERGY THEFT is another contributing factor. Thanks, you're perfectly right, that is exactly what my area marketer told me. |
Politics › Re: Steady Electricity.. by abbey086(m): 9:53am On Aug 17, 2016 |
Honestly speaking, I have never experienced steady electricity supply in my life like presently. uninterrupted electricity supply for days in Lagos, thereby, rendering my inverter and generator redundant. I normally switch off my freezer for days now before I can take anything out of it. The funniest part of it is that, as the electricity supply is getting better, my monthly bill is going down. Gradually, we will get there. Kudos to the federal government and the Ikeja electricity distribution company. |

ALAYORMII: I can never forget the day I was coming back from Taraba and I was stuck inside traffic from around 12am till after 8 in the morning Exactly what happened to me. immediately I collected my NYSC Certificate, with a determination not to spend extra one day in Taraba State, our bus which had been booked earlier left Taraba at noon on that Thursday. We got to Ibadan around 4pm on Friday, I even called home to come and pick me at Berger with a believe that I should be in Lagos at worst, in the next two hours. Before we knew it, 4 turned to 5, 6, 7........till12 midnight we were still at the same spot. We managed to leave Ibadan around 12:30 am and got to Berger around 2 am on Saturday. The worst is that we were unable to pinpoint or identify the cause(s) of the standstill. Fortunately for me, my brothers waited until I got there. I will never forget that historical day in my life. |

Politics › Re: Fashola To Release PHCN Electricity Meters by abbey086(m): 1:06pm On Mar 29, 2016 |
londoner: Can someone explain how the 300,000 Meters will improve the supply of electricity? Thanks. The release of the meters will improve the supply of electricity in the following ways: 1. I will use myself as an example, my two bedroom flat apartment has been placed on estimated billing for many years now, and all my efforts to get the prepaid meter has not be successful, leading to outrageous monthly estimated billing. Even in the month when when the supply was very erratic or not supplied at all. This implies that I have been paying for the services not rendered. 2. Because of the reason above, any time there is power supply, I make use of all my electric appliances including the high energy consumption pumping machine for as long as possible, since I know that my billing does not depend on my electricity usage. As a result of this, the sense of been a rational consumer is not there. 3. Now, assuming that I now get the prepaid Meter, I will be a conscious rational consumer since I know that I will pay for exactly what I consumed. I will as well ensure that all my appliances are of low consumption types e.g, by using energy saving bulbs against the regular bulbs, since I'm a rational consumer. As a result of this, my total energy consumption will reduce drastically. Now let us assumed that they now deploy these effective and efficient prepaid meters across the entire nation, a normal human being is a rational consumer (I.e trying to get the best, but paying the least), if the entire consumers now reduce their energy consumption in order to pay the least, the limited available energy will be able to go round. Though, we may not get the uninterrupted supply now, but, we will definitely get an improved energy supply in our home. Also, the energy distribution companies are in the business to make profit, now that the #750 fixed charges has been removed, it simply means that if there is zero supply of energy to the consumers, there is going to be zero income generated by the energy distribution companies. As a result of this, they too will strive by any means to get more supply in order to get more income. |
