I was right about the Senate all along. No Trump impeachment pending. Dem's message remains weak, they'll have to work on their Obama-tier message which shouldnt be hard, maybe Dems need a white man speaking for them come 2020.

We all know that the republicans will keep the Senate because most of the 33 Senate seats being contested are Democratic States. It's gonna be the opposite of that in 2020. The main contention is the House of Representatives where legislation starts in US. That's where the real blue wave mantra emanates from.

On a personal note to me, my Buddy Mr Kwame Raoul wins the Attorney General in my beloved Land of Lincoln. Good guys always come out on top. @Team Blue.

I don't think you read my post rightly. I said Susan Collins and Murkowski couldn't just support Trump's radical agenda just because they were Republicans. If they did, they would blow their reelection chances at home. So also is it for Joe Manchin, he couldn't join the radical opposition to Trump because he would have lost his reelection race. My point is that many red state house reps will not want to join any radical opposition to Trump because it will affect their reelection chances. Go back and read my post again and you will understand the point I was making

You are overestimating the significance of this, the map for the 2020 race for the house will be very bad for Democrats. A lot of those moderate Democratic incumbents that will be defending their seats in red states in 2020 are not likely to join any attempt to radically oppose Trump. Just like Lisa murkowski and Susan Collins for the GOP and Joe Manchin for the dems had to play it safe to safeguard their reelection in the senate. Those red state Democrats who ignored this trend paid a very big price tonight in Senate races. I don't think red state Democratic reps will want to tow the same path

Wrong again. Alaska is not as red as it used to be and Susan Collins from Maine is not in a red state.

The problem with Rauner is the same thing Trump will have in 2020 if he can survive Mueller. Rauner came in as a candidate against Former Gov Pat Quinn a Democrat and i will admit Quinn is a bad Governor. Rauner came in with his $ billion and spend over $100 million of his personal wealth to overwhelm Quinn. He won convincingly and failed to unite illinoisians forgetting he will run for reelection in 4 years. Here comes a wealthier candidate JB Pritzker who spent $175 of his $4billion wealth to overwhelm Rauner and now JB is the Governor Elect. Proud to be a Blue Team Member.

Same as DACA which was signed by Obama, the new executive order will be taken to court and Trump is hoping it is forced through to the Supreme Court which is now conservative leaning thanks to Kavanagh. If the Supreme Court rules that the 14th amendment does not cover illegal immigrants then tat becomes law and does not need congress.

Also to correct you, an amendment needs either congress or 2/3 of the 50 states not both.

The voting is still going on in Indiana while you are posting lie on Nairaland. It's possible for Braun to win or lose but at least let the full results comes in before spouting your untruth. Darell Issa’s seat is being contested by Mike Levin, who was polling 5% points ahead of the Repub candidate, Diane Harkey.

The seat will also be a nail-bitter, as it was two years ago.

I think that seat will go Democratic because Issa barely won that seat with all his personal wealth and congressional influence. Isn't that your congressional district in San Diego ?.

In a vote-counting center in Santa Ana, Orange County, they’ve already proceed 700,000 mailed ballots. To put int into perspective, the same center processed around 1,000,000 mailed ballots 2 years ago. So, the excitement in this year’s midterms is super high!

There are four Congressional seats, here, being held by Republicans that could flip to Dems. In my district - the 50th - the incumbent Republican rep Duncan Hunter, is in a toss-up contest with the Dem challenger, Campar Najjar.

The district is usually a reliably Republican one, but Hunter’s multiple indictment’s by the federal DOJ for campaign-finance violations, and anti-Trump sentiment, has made this district surprisingly competitive.

What about the seat of Darell Issa ?. He barely worn the last time by 1% and that's why he's retiring. I think the Democrat running there is up by 7 points.

You guys in California is the last one to release your results because of the Pacific Time which is 3 hour behind Eastern Time. It will be very interesting evening. Georgia is kinda worrisome for me because Ms Abrams put up a good case and i am having a feeling that none of the three candidates will get 50%+1 and that means there will be a run off in Dec. We shall see but I hope Ms Abrams wins the Governorship to make her the 1st Black woman in American history to become a Governor. My sister, you can count on that. I have been voting since I turned 18 and never seen this many people voting like they do now with the exception of Obama's landslide victory twice. People wants to send a message to our 72 year old racist and White Nationalist ( by self admission ) president that Americans will never be divided. Good news like you said and the new House of Representatives will be sworn in January and all Trampy shenanigans and his hideous taxes will be exposed for the whole world to see that he's the greatest Con man in American history.
