HEY GUESS WHAT? This is my 79th post on NariaLand!.... oh i'm so gonna start a thread finding out who has the most... |
That's the spirit girl. I want to meet you then.
i'd love to meet you too.... unless you're like canabalistic or something... |
hey, i had to write that down to figure it out... i can't do anything like that in my head.... well i would if it was either it or my life....or a good piece of pie, i'd do it for that too... ![]() |
I want to meet you then. I also want to meet whoever knows how to have fun.
i know how to have fun. You got to let go... and LIVE! I want to try bungi-jumping that would be fun... scary but exillerating. You got to not care about any one else's opinions of you, let your hair down and DANCE LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING! listen like no one is listening, and live like you're gonna die tomorrow. ![]() Advinchi:who? |
wendytilda:I AGREE! But then how do make political desions? Do we put liars in jail? I know we SHOULD, but how do act in these desions....? |
goodguy:why thank you goodguy! kaylala:what reason on earth would i possibly have to lie about my age on Nairaland? I COULDN'T lie to you all! I Love you too much! YES that's my real age. ![]() whiteshark:13+29+86+41+55=224.......... wait just a gosh darn minute! That makes no sence! And you forgot "opinionative" that's a big part of NariaLand too... thelastdon: ![]() |
WesleyanA:It's actually really interesting! It takes a little while to get into it, but it is really good. Well, i didn't know anything about the culture, so that may have had something to do with it... you know, like discovering that there was this entire contr(e)y (?) of people you never really knew about.... ![]() |
kaylala:well you spelled 'what' wrong.... |
gbengaijot:Sorry, i posted durring class i didn't have time to post more questions..... LoverBwoy:I am a freshman (age 14-15) in Highschool, but i'm doing what next year's sophomores (age 15-16) are doing.. (i'm in honors, and the requirements are changing, and my class are the guini-pigs....) Yes, i do know that "Things Fall Apart" is a fictional book, not a history book, but it is absolutley my only frame of reference on Nigerian Culture, i asume that all of it could still be true and all of it could now be false. If you had asked me what i knew about Nigeria before reading "Things Fall Apart" I could have told you that it might be in either South America or Africa. That's how little i knew, and that's why i said several times to remember that i know absolutely NOTHING about Nigeria. As to Wesley Snipe.... i don't know lots of actors/actress' names, but... i still have never heard of him..... Ok, another question. 30. How do you worship or celebrate, or perticipate in the different relgions? If you have experianced one, please describe it in detail. (This is a very important question) 31. What are different Holidays that Nigeria as a whole celebrates? 32. What is unique to the Igbo culture? Specifically about their religion... 33. What is unique to the Yoruba culture? Specifically about their religion... 34. What is unique to the Hausas culture? Specifically about their religion... 35. What is unique to Nigerian culture? Specificallly about their religions.... 36. What is different about Christianity and Islamic (and other religions too...) relgions in Nigeria opposed to Other places. 37. How modernized is Nigeria? One person mentioned earlier that some places in Nigeria remind them of the buildings and such in like the UK and London... I am trying to get a feel of what Nigeria is like, what electric/gas/etc... conviences do you have... don't you have... 38. For those of you who have visited places like the USA, how does daily life in Nigeria compare to daily life in the USA (or similar places...) that's all for now. THANKS! Please remember to put your name on at least one of your responces, and any and all websites and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Now that i mentioned it, does anyone have a picture they could give me of Like the inside and/or outside of a Nigerian Masc (SP? mah-s-k) or Church or Temple? Or People from Nigeria? Like, even just random photos of people walking down the street would be great....! |
spikedcylinder:Why thank you! Well, i originally got interested in Nigerian Culture, because for my English class we read the book "Things Fall Apart" so for the Final, i have to compare and contrast nigerian culture and American culture. So, i typed in "Nigeria culture-religion" (religion is the specific aspect i'm researching) on google, and the third website had an attached hyperlink that got me to this one. But after reading a little, i was so invigorated that i had to get an account myself and spout the ideas that cascade from my head. If you wish to see any of those, i mainly have posted on the religion threads... i don't know really too much or anything really, about like Nigeria's political stature or anything.... but i myself am a Christian, and it's so cool, because God sometimes lets me understand things outside of human concepts, he gives me wisdom... that's probably why i sound mature, or smart for my age... well i also am around people with a high vocabulary and i read a ton which probably influences it also... My parents are not Nigerian, actually we are German and Bohemian. BUT, from what i've learned so far about Nigeria, i think that it would be TOTALLY awesome to visit. It sounds like you guys have a really rich culture there... |
i still like mine best! ![]() |
pepper Jack cheese |
goodguy:thanks the spell checker on here didn't recognize the word when i spelled it wrong.... ![]() Jalal:Thanks though. I've been here for a week or two.... Look on the religion threads to mainly see my writing... Mostly on "Free Will vs. God's all-knowing Nature" or something like that..... OH and for all you who live in or have visited Nigeria before, please go on my thread, "Quetions Nigerian Culture and Religion" and try and answer those for me.... i'm reaserching about it... = ) thanks. |
Hey y'all FYI my friend from my class has just made an account and she is doing this same project, her account name is Butterflye and she will be posting questions on this too.... ![]() |
WesleyanA:You should so totally teach it to us all here at Nairaland, and so we'll all type in it, (if you use these letters that is) and so someone will come on and be all, WTF? NO! You should teach it to your (future/friends) children and have them teach it to their friends and their future children and so on, so you will like create another language and their will be people who speak your language as their first one... |
Rolly:No, you see, i have no legs, arms, or body.... i used to, but my friends ate me because i just looked so d*mn tasty so one day in my sleep suddenly.... well you don't want to know about that. WesleyanA:whose funnY? how do you know, you've never tried me before.... |
WesleyanA:why thank you! |
i go through phases. every month or two or even three, there is one or two words that i am constantly using, and then i suddenly start using a different word all the time. Right now i'm in between words, which means i'm using two words. they are Random (ly) and also Vauge (ly) |
guess what Bolyenin is? its a language my friend made up. it has weird symbols for letters, but you say it, like you are saying the word in english, only backwards. it's so wierd to hear her speak backwards. she can do it instantaneously too... |
WesleyanA:well, i do taste pretty darn good... so i wouldn't blame you... LMAO |
thank you all for giving me this information. i am not going to put any more questions on tongiht.... or i guess it's tomorrow already in Nigeria... i will wait for more people to respond. thank you all though. |

Because i just get filled with this, "LIFE ROX MY SOX!" emotion, and i get filled with anticipation for life, and just in that moment absolutely love to live, because there is nothing wrong in my life at that moment, and i can just dance aroung and sing at the top of my lungs, as if no one is watching, because i am living life to the fullest. ![]() |

So more questions....(i had 8 grouped questions in the first so i'm starting on 9, so i don't get confused when reading your answers) 9. Many say that Nigerian Culture is 'rich'. Are you glad, or reproachful or some other emotion towards the British for coming and teaching you? What is the emotion Nigeria as a whole, would you say, feels towards them? 22. What is wrong with your political system? sbucareer:23. What is the Oba? The Emir? The Eze? Are they politicions? Are they like the kings/presidents of each different part of Nigeria? If so, how do they make desisions for Nigeria? sbucareer:WOW! 24. How are the women the most rigorous/persistent women on earth? What are actions that show them be this? sbucareer:25. People can do magic in Nigeria? Is magic practiced alot, or only by few? 26. You said, "colonial masters" what does this mean, and why must you obey them? (Your name rocks by the way. it's totally cool) gbengaijot:27. How important would you say Mary Slessor is, to Nigerian culture? Like do schools have history lessons on her? gbengaijot:28. The other person said that Nigerians live in duplex's and mansions, and you say you live in a 5 bedroom bungalow. Is a 5 bedroom bungalow considered a mansion? Or, are there different 'rich', 'well-off', 'not so well-off', 'poor', 'broke', parts of Nigeria? gbengaijot:29. How does Nigeria work if there are more than one kings that are ruling parts of it? gbengaijot:i would love pictures, my project is due this friday, so i'd need them before then. Or what? and yes you did answer some of my questions thanks a bunch |
WesleyanA:On my I-Pod (it has video), i have that one episode, where Stewie is bored, and so He trys to kill Louis (SP?) and his teacher shows Louis some pictures Stewie drew, and they are all of Stewie like ripping Louis' head off, and the teacher is all, "Do you notice anything?" and Louis is all, "His father's not in any of them" and the teacher is all, "Exactly" Meanwhile, at Peter's work Opi get's employee of the month again and so he does something 'speacil' for his boss who loves animals.... he sets up a cock fight in her house and the two animals kill eachother. and so while 'bonding' Peter hits Louis accidently on the head, and Stewie laughs, so they spend a long time basically killing off Louis. and then Louis gets back (from being almost drowned) and yells at peter, so stewie gets mad, so peter takes stewie to Disney World, where Stewie gets lost and gets put in the 'it's a tiny tiny land' place. Thats the main plot line of it. I love family guy it's hillerous, and yet.... so offending. @ Kc, i live in St. Charles. (suburb of chicago) near Geneva, Elgin, Aurora, Batavia etc.... |
Z4M4eva:well, no one ever mentions me *tear* LMAO!
