Recent attacks and threats by Niger Delta militants have left residents of Imose and Totowu communities, Ogun State (which are communities accessible by water through adexson Bus stop, Lasu-Iyana iba expressway, Lagos State and Isuti road, Egan, Lagos State respectively) extremely terrified and these have made residents flee for their lives. The attacks have been made by the militants on water, attacking residents and robbing them of their valuables. The attacks have been going on for over a month and neither Ogun State government nor Lagos State Government as interfered (mind you, the communities are linked to both States).



About a month ago, 3 people were abducted on the Imose River and weren’t released until a ransom of N500,000 was paid. This Monday, the 27th of June, 2016, a mobile policeman (MOPOL) was killed on the Totowu River after he refused to go with the gunmen and today, the 30th of June, 2016, a young lady was kidnapped on the Imose River again around 4:30p.m. A close relative of the victim informed B.K’s Blog that the lady, an undergraduate came back from school few days ago and was abducted from a boat containing a total of 16 passengers while returning with her mum from where they went to buy provisions for school because she was planning to return to school tomorrow. The victim’s mum was also injured with a knife while trying to prevent her daughter from being taken away and all her pleas fell on deaf ears as the militants left with the lady. They victim called her dad few hours later saying that she was ok and that the gunmen were demanding for money. She further informed him that details about the amount being demanded and the mode of payment will be relayed to him.

Nothing has been heard of them since then and members of both communities have continued to troop out in large numbers. Residents of the communities seek God’s intervention and the interference of The Government before things get worse than they already are.

Today,
Another one happen, as the gunmen show at the imose river.
This has brought tension to the people living in the community.

A police sergeant, Yusuf Hadi, has been ambushed and shot dead by suspected militants while in a boat on the Ishuti River in Egan area of Igando, Lagos.

The bad guys, who were in another boat, attacked Hadi, who was attached to the Police Mobile Force 43, two female passengers, and the boat operator around the Agbara Bridge, towards Totowu community.

The incident occurred at about 3pm on Monday. Some policemen at the Igando division were said to have rushed the sergeant to a private hospital but he did not survive the attack.

It was learnt that the militants, believed to be pipeline vandals, also dispossessed the ladies of their phones and money, before ordering Hadi to lie flat in the boat.

The sergeant, who was in uniform as of the time of the attack, was said to have begged his assailants to spare his life. However, the heartless vandals said he was an enemy and fired him first in the leg.

Thereafter, they reportedly pumped bullets into his body.

It was gathered that the boat operator and female passengers ferried Hadi to Ishuti, Egan, where some policemen from the Igando division rushed him to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Lagos Police spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the killing. She said police will get the killers.

My mother was attack 20 years back with an acid, the incident was too much that took one of her eyes and a surgical operation was done then, but was told that the second eyes can be affected later in future.
She has been living with just only a eye for 20 years, but since from last year the second eyes has been disturbing her which prompt her to visit a Doctor, and we were told that another operation need to be carried out, and the equipment to use and specialist are not available in the country, except we take to abroad (India).
So we consult a hospital in India (Fortis Healthcare) and make an arrangement for us to come. They sent us the medical bills and invitation letter to submit to the embassy.
The total amount for the Operation is US$20,000, the we are unable to gather up to that amount.
