immortalcrown: Nigeria is a joke. You don't want to give the governors the allocations but the same governors are the ones to choose who will get the allocations from you. Are you not funny?
Na still the governors go put their puppets in the positions. No be the rulling party in each state go win most of the seats?
The autonomy is just for the collection of the allocations, not for the spending of the allocations. Each parish will still pay tithes to the headquarter.
I support local government autonomy. But the new policy will not achieve the autonomy. Remember that the elections will be conducted by state INEC, not the main INEC. With this, governors will make their puppets LGA chairmen and decide how those chairmen spend the federal allocations.
If you think the chairmen can decide to disobey the governors, think of how many LGA chairmen that are clean enough to boldly and successfully disobey their political godfathers. Remember that the puppets selected as LGA chairmen are the ones with rotten profiles that can be used to blackmail and silence those chairmen when those chairmen prove stubborn. No be wike pick Fubara? You forget watin them dey call power. |

bixton: If I see you holding a broom over your head and waving it while you wear a polo shirt with APC on it, does that make you a member of APC?
So if they had carried a Biafran flag and waved it over their head does that make them Biafrans? If we're to use emotions, both of them are members but if we're to use our head and legal, they're not until proving otherwise with a strong defence in court. However, Biafra should not be used as an example because it's a terrorist group according to Nigerian law and anyone seen supporting or sympathising with them is assumed to be one of them. And it's punishable under the law. Just that the punishment might be different from the leaders. |

Tealcrestmedia: If someone is elected under a party and defects to another party, does it mean they have automatically carried their elected office to the other party without the need to first drop the position? No court of law in the world recognised verbal agreement or declaration but documents. As of today, they're still members of PDP under the law and the record says it. For example, most of the Obidients online are members of LP but can they prove it or be useful to LP locally? They're not party members but supporters. |

[ quote author=Kobojunkie post=130782624]1. I don't have any leaders so I have no clue what you are talking about at all.
To The first question, I assume you're from the southeast and I might be wrong, but my instinct doesn't lie. So the southeast leaders are the ones calling for his release. 2. Interesting claim! Under what condition does your Constitution state that a citizen of Nigeria can be detained and for how long can such a detainment go on for 2. I am not a legal practitioner and I know little or nothing about his trial, but if I enter to read the case, we might argue for the next 2 years while he'll still not be released until proven innocent. So as of now, the Supreme Court has yet to grant him bail, which no person no matter the emotions can change else the president will give a pardon. 3. He jumped bail? What evidence do you have or has been given to this effect to date? Again, let's pay clear attention to what the Constitution says.
Well, he was not present at the court when he was needed and claimed some people attacked his house reason he flew and hid until he was rearrested in Kenya or so... All these are just an excuse and do not hold water in the court of law. |
Politics › Re: Nnamdi Kanu Agrees To Comply With Tinubu Government's Terms Of Release by Abbeytoy(m): 9:35pm On Jul 03, 2024 |
Kobojunkie: Pardon for what? Currently, your government has yet to convict him of any actual crimes that require his detention. If anyone needs to be pardoned in this case, it is your government for illegally detaining the man. The ones in contempt of your very Law in Nigeria are your government here. So? Your leaders are the ones asking for pardon and not me. He was not illegally detained but under trial. The last time he was released on bail, he jumped bail before he was rearrested and I believe that's what the government is guiding against... They don't want some army to attack him again and use that excuse to run away. |

Kobojunkie: They are not trying to get justice; all your government has done to date has been to illegally detain a Nigerian citizen, against the Nigerian Constitution. According to the document in circulation, Nnamdi Kanu was indeed illegally detained against court rule for just some days until supreme court rule against him and that was during Buhari's tenure. But right now, he was legally detained. I don't have anything against him or anyone, I just prefer he get the right justice than pardon and be subjected to the government tools. |

Nnamdi Kanu should not be released on pardon, but fast-track the court judgment to determine if he's guilty or not.
