Frankly, based on the entire body of work alone, the best candidate for the SE coaching job was Goran Stephanovic. Go check his records with Ghana and other places he had worked. The country's football body has apologised to the Dream Team VI handler following his recent outburst over unpaid salaries and allowances

The Nigeria Football Federation has pleaded for understanding with the Nigeria U23 national team coach, Samson Siasia, contrary to media report that the later was queried over his 'media outburst', Goal can exclusively report.

Earlier, Siasia in a chat with local media accused his employers of abandoning his team with just a month to 2016 Olympics qualifying tournament in Senegal.

He further said that his team is being owed match bonuses and allowances for nine months while the former Nigerian international was yet to be paid for three months. The former Nigeria U20 trainer exonerated himself of any future blame should the country fail to qualify for the Olympics football event.

Goal learnt that the NFF never issued any query notice to the Dream Team VI gaffer, but has promised to pay outstanding salaries, players and officials' allowances on Monday next week.

After missing out on the female ticket, Nigeria's only chance of taking part in the football event in next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeirio, Brazil lies with the upcoming African U-23 championship billed for Senegal from November 28.
