Family / Re: Over 25% Of Tested Men In Nigeria Aren’t Biological Fathers – DNA Report by abidem4real: 11:58am On Sep 14, 2023
Ofunaofu:

Smart DNA, a leading DNA testing center based in Lagos, Nigeria, has released a comprehensive data analysis of all relationship DNA tests conducted at its facility between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that DNA is Deoxyribonucleic acid; it is the material that carries genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism.

A DNA test (genetic testing) is a medical test that can identify mutations in one’s genes, chromosomes or proteins.

These tests provide information about an individual’s ancestral roots.

A DNA relationship test is the use of genetic profiles to determine whether an individual is the biological parent of another individual.

The Smart DNA report, based on thousands of users, provides an unprecedented insight into the DNA testing trends across Nigeria.

Released on Tuesday, it showed startling findings about the reasons people seek testing, the demographics of those tested, and the outcomes of the tests.

Nevertheless, it showed positive results which indicated that the men who came out positive as the biological fathers of the children who they queried their paternity, accounted for 73.88 per cent of tests.

Negative results were 26.12 per cent of those who were tested.

On geographical spread, the report showed that Lagos accounted for the highest percentage of tests, with 82.89 per cent of the total.

This is followed by Oyo (3.29 per cent), Ogun (3.07 per cent) and FCT (2.63 per cent and Rivers (2.41 per cent).

“This heavy concentration in Lagos, particularly the Mainland (68.14 percent) compared to the Island (31.86 per cent), is likely due to the location of Smart DNA’s office in Lagos.

“Also likely due to the purchasing power of the state’s residents, and the high population density of the state,’’ it said.

The report showed that the majority of tests (89.10 per cent) were conducted for ‘Peace of Mind’, followed by ‘Immigration’ (8.97 per cent), and ‘Legal’ (0.64 per cent).

“This suggests that individuals primarily seek DNA testing to confirm biological relationships for personal reasons rather than legal or immigration purposes.’’

It showed that men were the predominant initiators of contact, making up 86.44 per cent of the first contacts, compared to 13.56 per cent made by women.

“This indicates that men are more likely to have doubts about paternity or other relationships and take the initiative to seek testing,’’ it said.

“Positive results indicating that the man tested is the biological father of the child, accounted for 73.88 per cent of tests, while negative results made up 26.12 per cent.

“This suggests that in the majority of cases, the men seeking testing are indeed the biological fathers, but in more than 1 in 4 cases, the tested father is not the biological father of the child’’.

On Ethnic Group, the Yoruba ethnic group had the highest percentage of tests (61.23 per cent), followed by Igbo (19.07 per cent).

“Others (12.08 per cent), and Edo (6.78 per cent). This may be reflective of the ethnic distribution in Lagos and the surrounding areas’’.

On the sex of the child, more tests were conducted on male children (56.62 per cent) compared to female children (43.38 per cent).

It said that this may suggest a cultural preference for confirming paternity of male offspring, although further research would be needed to confirm this hypothesis.

Analysing the age range of those tested, it said that most tests were conducted on children aged 0-5 years (58.02 per cent), followed by the 6-12 age group (25.95 per cent).

“This indicates that paternity tests are mostly done on children when they are younger rather than when they get older’.

The Smart DNA findings said that the men who opted for these DNA tests were mostly between the ages of 31-40 years (40 per cent) and 41-50 years (23 per cent).

“ This age group is likely to have young children and may be in a financial position to afford the testing’’.

Officials of Smart DNA said the centre is committed to providing fully accredited DNA testing services to clients in accordance with the highest international standards.

According to them, the report aims to shed light on the current trends in relationship DNA testing in Nigeria, contributing to a better understanding of this important aspect of our society. (NAN)

I just knew it was a matter of time before investigative Nigerians dug out the identity of the man in actress Moyo Lawal's infamous sex video.

The general consensus of those who watched the trending and scandalous video is that the man in question was very dull and uninspiring in the act, in contrast to those of her industry colleagues who had their legs spread out from Kafanchan to Timbuktu (not that some of us care. Radarada).

If a man doesn't marry when he is broke. Marriage become difficult when he is rich. Especially getting the right one without money influence or family interference.

Ask any successful rich guys they will admit the simple fact about getting the right one since everyone is drawn to success.
Na lie! The most dangerous period for a man to marry is when he is "broke". You will regret your life if you do so. Women are always women. They choose to misbehave when the opportunity presents itself regardless of a man being "broke" or rich.
Women are the most unpredictable creatures ever created by God.

The same old story. This so called insecurity will continue to go unabated because it's a business for the perpetrators and a political playground for Nigerian politicians. Meanwhile, the perpetrators of most of the insecurity are not hiding and unknown particularly judging from the recent happenings in the north where some youths retaliated by kidnapping the wives of the kidnappers of their people.

There is no where in the Electoral Act where the Commission or its agent is mandated to use only electronic method in collating or transmitting election results.
This judgement is not unexpected. It's a reference to a previous judgement of the court on a similar election matter.
You don't expect a sitting president to be ousted like that in this country.
When former President Yar'adua publicly said the election that brought him in was not free and fair, what did the court latter say? Tinubu's presidency has come to stay whether we like it or not. God should just touch his heart to make this country prosperous for all and sundry.

Romance / Re: How I Met My Girlfriend by abidem4real: 1:03pm On Aug 20, 2023
kayus621:
It was during my national youth service year in Akwa Ibom State when our paths first crossed. We were both posted to ukanafun as National Youth Service Corp(NYSC) members, and little did I know that this would be the beginning of a beautiful journey.

From the moment we met, I was captivated by her warm presence. She had a way of making me feel at ease, and her infectious laughter filled the room. She had a nickname for me, "Kayo," which she said in a playful and sexy way. It quickly caught on, and soon, my fellow colleagues started calling me by that name too.

As we got to know each other, our connection deepened. We discovered shared interests, passions, and dreams. But one of our most cherished moments was when we started coming out at night to talk about our lives under the moonlight. It became our sacred time, where we could share our deepest thoughts, dreams, and fears.

We had made it a tradition to come out at night and share our lives with each other, reminiscing about our past, our secondary school experiences, and our university lives.

But one thing that always stood out for me was when she spoke about her former job as a receptionist. There was something enchanting about the way she told her stories, especially when it happened under the moonlight. It was as if the moon itself was lending an ear, illuminating her words and giving them a magical touch.

I would listen intently as she painted vivid pictures with her words, describing the challenges she faced and the interesting people she encountered. She had a way of making even the simplest of tasks sound fascinating and captivating. And as she spoke, I could feel myself being transported into her world, experiencing every moment alongside her.

It was during these nights that I truly got to know her on a deeper level, understanding the experiences that had shaped her into the person she was today.

Sometimes, we would sit in silence, just basking in each other's presence, the moonlight creating a serene ambiance around us.

But it wasn't always smooth sailing. Like any close relationship, we had our fair share of misunderstandings. However, what set us apart was our commitment to resolving those misunderstandings under the moonlight.

When disagreements arose, we would find ourselves back in our special spot, away from the distractions of the world. There, under the moonlight, we would open up to each other, expressing our thoughts and feelings with honesty and vulnerability.

We were willing to confront our differences head-on, to listen and understand each other's perspectives. Under the moonlight, we would apologize, forgive, and embrace each other's flaws. It was in those moments of vulnerability that our bond grew even stronger. We learned to appreciate the beauty of compromise and the power of understanding.

Looking back on those nights, I realize that our misunderstandings were not obstacles but opportunities for growth. They allowed us to learn more about ourselves and each other, deepening our connection in ways we never thought possible.

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, our bond grew stronger. We became each other's confidants, supporting one another through the ups and downs of our service year. Whether it was navigating the challenges of our assigned tasks or finding solace in the unfamiliar surroundings, we were there for each other every step of the way.

Looking back, I realize that meeting her during my youth service year was no coincidence. It was a serendipitous moment that brought us together, shaping the course of our lives in ways we couldn't have imagined.

Today is her birthday so I created a website specially to wish her a happy birthday, there you will find our memories together, please help me wish her a happy birthday. Check my signature for the website link, you can drop your wishes for her on the site, through her whatsapp or Facebook.
God bless you as you help make her birthday a memorable one🙏

All these over a hole that might have been badly drilled before and during her university days by probably several men! No woman is worth this hype these days bro provided she is not met a virgin.
If she is a virgin, congratulations!!!💃💃💃
