It is important we understand that every relationship between two individuals start with infatuation, this pulls the couples attention to each other and gradually a chemistry is built with effort from both spouses which culminates to love over time. Love is deep and many a times one could not really say he is in love but time is the true measure to know if one is truly in love. True love covers all offences, forgives genuinely and tolerates each others weakness. We have seen many who have claimed to be in love and whose marriages have not lasted up to 10 years, others whose marriages are based on recommendations, who barely know each other have also been seen to have lasted so long. It is important we appreciate the fact that marriage is hard work and those who go into it must have an attitude of continuous learning to develop the required love within its confines. Many a times we have spent years to study for a career but we have failed to study about marriage that we shall enter into for a life time. |
@Op, the truth is it all depends on what you are looking at. But it is important you understand it is not how much you spend that makes a marriage successful, potential couples should disabuse their minds from elaborate societal wedding ceremonies but should engage the families involved earnestly and see how lots of unnecessary cost can be done away with. Specifically Nigerians should start inculcating ceremonies with very few family members and not involving a whole lot of logistics cost moving families from one part of the country to another. Pastors are still in the business of joining couples alone without ceremonies and the weddings are still successful, it is not about the gatherings but about keeping to your marital vows and making your marriage a success and grooming a godly goodly family. I hope you can think on these few lines and my guess is, if one truly wants to get married, it doesn't cost a thing. With a little over 100k it will be settled. |
HungerBAD:Are you married? |
By Aunty Julie I’m in deep shit over relationships. I’m a 35-year-old woman and met a very handsome 43-year-old man. We’ve been dating for five months now and still haven’t slept together. My problem is that in the beginning of our relationship, he asked me how many men I’ve slept with and worried about how he would react, I lied and told him I’d slept with seven men. But after a few months, I could not live with the lie and finally decided to tell him the reason why I still haven’t slept with him yet. I told him I didn’t want to make love because I was scared that he’d lose respect and eventually leave me like all the other men. At this point he asked me again, just how many men were there, to which I replied forty-three. His reply was, “Hmm, one for each of my birthday.” And from that day on, I never heard from him again. I don’t get it , why is it that when men sleep around, they’re studs , yet when women sleep around, they’re sluts ? Why can’t women have their fun too? Dudu, Abuja Dear Dudu, I’ve spoken with quite a number of women asking the same question. I don’t want to pass judgment on women, nor am I saying that women shouldn’t enjoy themselves sexually. But men and women are never the same. You expressed fear about losing respect and the way I feel as a woman is that women should be worshiped by their men. An object that has value is worshiped, respected, cherished, and shared with very few deserving people. As soon as you start sharing that object with anyone and without care, the object starts to lose value. The more people use the object, the more it depreciates and the less bargaining power it has: this is a plain psychological fact of life. Most women don’t realize the importance men place on a woman’s promiscuity. Women think that because men don’t care about how many women they’ve slept with, they won’t care about how many men their woman has slept with. But the reality is that most men, those looking for a serious relationship and not a one-night stand do place great value on a woman’s sexual restraint. There was a time when many women cherished their bodies much like a sacred temple where only a noble man, one who respected and loved her, had access to her body. But over time, it seems that women have failed to realize the important role their sexuality plays in finding a long-term mate. Thanks to the women’s movement, women are so busy trying to compete with men, including in the sex department, that they fail to realize the consequences of their actions. Today, it seems that women are the ones who are collecting notches on their Prada belts by giving their bodies away too easily. But if women themselves don’t value their bodies like they used to, why should men? Some women will argue that if men have the right to sleep around, so should women. But I ask only one question: If women adamantly believe this, then why is it that when faced with the question of how many men have they slept with, most women who have slept around with truckloads of men always lie? Some women will rationalize that they must do so because men can’t handle the truth. But if this is the case, why don’t women let men decide for themselves if they can or can’t handle it? Why do women need to lie to protect men’s egos? I think women lie to protect themselves rather than men because if it’s not shame or regret that’s making you hold your tongue, then the potentially dire consequences of the truth surely are. The power lies with women… http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/02/i-lost-my-man-because-i-slept-with-so-many-men/ |

Pep Guardiola has been appointed the new manager at Manchester City for next season on a three-year deal. The 45-year-old, currently in charge at Bayern Munich, will replace Manuel Pellegrini, who will leave on 30 June. A statement from City said Pellegrini, 62, was "fully supportive" of the decision. The Chilean was appointed at the Etihad in 2013 and led the club to the Premier League and League Cup double the following season. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35461090 |

@Op, please don't just quote a verse of the scripture and draw up a conclusion, I advise even that particular scripture you should refer to other versions of Bible like New Living Translation, NIV, Message etc and above all ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. Mathew 11 shows how John the Baptist was put in prision for correcting Herod, and Christ actually testified of the personality of who John was and also reflected how the Kingdom of God is being attacked violently and only the violent/resolute/aggressive christian can make impact (John 11:12). Have asked yourself why on the eve of Christ arrest and crucifixion while he was praying in the garden of Gethsemane, His sweat was like blood? Do you think, someone praying quietly will be sweating and His sweat will be like blood? |
A can of worms was open when the names of ‘highly placed’ Nigerians who got a share of the alleged $2.1b arms scandal started flying in the media. More disturbing was that President Buhari’s name was mentioned as a partaker of the loot. Though his media team did a good job of debunking the claim that Mr. President collected $300,000, they confirmed he received two jeeps, adding that it was his entitlement and he was even ‘prevailed upon’ to receive the vehicles. Popular Nigerian lawyer, Festus Keyamo has come out to clear the air on the legal implications of the President receiving the cars. Keyamo on his Twitter timeline said “The Law on d entitlements of former Heads of State says they're entitled to 3 cars each to be changed by d FG every 4 years + other benefits.” Adding that “The cars given to former Heads of State are ppties of d F.G as they must be returned & replaced every 4 yrs. They can't be declared as gifts.” “The law did not say which office of d F.G caters for ex-Presidents. But, I know it's illegal for d NSA to pick d bills of a political party,” he said. Festus Keyamo is a Nigerian lawyer, human right activist, social commentator and columnist. http://pulse.ng/local/buhari-keyamo-speaks-on-legal-implication-of-presidents-gift-of-2-jeeps-id4472000.html |
Anyone who has a hand in the looting both in APC, PDP and other parties, should be tracked, tried and our common wealth recovered in full before thrown to the gallows!!! |
brainbucks:I think a truth commission is a requirement for this nation, both PDP & APC looted monies from our common wealth, again this has been ongoing for many years even manifesting as security votes for governors and the president, who just take money from government coffers without appropriation!!! To me Metuh is making sense for the first time as a person. |
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson, Chief Olisa Metuh has called for a national truth commission, for Nigerians to deliberate on corruption and corrupt practices. Metuh said the commission will also expose to Nigerians, the source of wealth of most public office holders in Nigeria. He said this while calling on President Buhari to probe the security votes of the past Heads of State and Presidents since 1984. Metuh said “In the light of the way and manner of this government’s selective prosecution of the war against corruption, the PDP challenges the government to set up a National Truth Commission wherein politicians and other Nigerians publicly discuss the true meaning of corrupt practice in our land. This commission would also provide a platform for a proper public inquisition into the mind-boggling wealth of some Nigerians in public office.” “Nigerians are quite eager to learn the business and investment tricks of past and present public officers in the APC fold, especially former governors, former ministers as well as their national leader, who suddenly acquired multi-billions investments and are now reputed to be the richest politicians in the country,” he said. The PDP spokesman also called on President Buhari to probe the sources of the campaign funds of both the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC). “If indeed the government is interested in ending sleazes associated with campaign funds, the National Truth Commission will present an avenue for Nigerians to openly debate the issues therein with facts and figures,” Metuh said. The Peoples Democratic Party has consistently said that the All Peoples Congress led government is using the war against corruption to settle political scores and intimidate its members. http://pulse.ng/politics/pdp-party-threatens-to-expose-top-politicians-source-of-wealth-calls-for-national-truth-commission-id4459204.html |
The team of investigators at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) looking into how the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) shared funds meant for fighting Boko Haram has detected another line of payment made to companies linked with Thisday publisher and owner of Arise TV, Nduka Obaigbena. Nduka Obaigbena of ThisDay and Arise TV Ventures Africa The investigators said Obaigbena received at least N650million from Dasuki for questionable transactions. They also said that Obaigbena, who is also the Chairman of the Newspaper Proprietors Association Of Nigeria, has dropped out of sight since the discovery and all attempts at reaching him have failed, EFCC sources said. http://saharareporters.com/2015/12/07/arms-purchase-scam-investigators-trace-n650m-thisday-publisher-nduka-obaigbena |
A witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Abu Sule, told a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday how he allegedly helped a former Governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, to conceal the ownership of a mansion in Asokoro, Abuja, which he said the ex-governor bought with $2.29m in November 2008. Sule was the Managing Director of Tweenex Consociates H.D. Ltd., the company which Ohakim allegedly used to conceal his ownership of the property. Ohakim, who was Imo State governor between 2007 and 2011, is facing three counts of money laundering arising from his alleged purchase of the House 60, Kwame Nkrumah Street, Plot No. 1098, Cadastral Zone A04, Asokoro District, Abuja, with a cash payment of dollar equivalent of N270m in November 2008. He was also accused of failing to declare the property as part of his assets when asked by the EFCC to do so. The prosecution said the offences bordering on cash payment of N270m violated section 15(1)(d) and section 14(1)(b) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2004. Sule, who is the second prosecution witness in the case, told Justice Adeniyi Ademola, on Monday, that the former governor instructed him to use his (Sule’s) company, Tweenex Consociates H.D. Ltd, to buy the property. Led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, Mr. Festus Keyamo, Sule who described Ohakim as his “senior friend and benefactor,” said the former governor subsequently put pressure on him to prepare a tenancy agreement in order to conceal the former governor’s ownership of the house. Sule said, “Before November 2008, he requested that I buy him a house in Asokoro. “When we found one for him at 60, Kwame Nkrumah Street in Asokoro, we told him and he trusted my judgment on it. I told him the price was N270m and he provided me with the money about $2.29m or thereabout in cash. “I collected the money from him at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro at night. The money was in cash in one tranche and he said that I should use it to pay for the house at 60, Kwame Nkrumah Street, Asokoro. “The following day, I called Alhaji Muktari Isa Maidabino, then we met at Unity Bank, Maitama. Alhaji Muktari Maidabino said he had loan with the bank, so he offset the loan and retrieved the documents. When I collected the title documents I informed Chief Ohakim so that he could give us the name we were to use for the deed of assignment and power of attorney. “After a little delay, he said I should use my company name, Tweenex Consociates H.D. Ltd for the deed of assignment and power of attorney. “We did as he said and I signed the sales of agreement and deed of assignment.” Fielding questions from Keyamo, the witness said the house was not a gift from Ohakim, adding that he handed over sales agreement and deed of assignment to Ohakim. He said, “After we perfected the purchase we renovated the house for one and a half years. “After the renovation, we handed over the house to him. “In 2012, Chief Ohakim, now put pressure on me and made me to do a tenancy agreement between him and Tweenex Consociates. “We did him an offer letter and he wrote us an acceptance of the offer accompanied with three cheques totaling N20m. We issued him a receipt and we gave him a tenancy agreement.” Responding to Keyamo’s question, Sule said since the expiration of the “purported rent” in April 2014 his company had never made request for its renewal. He added that the N20m given to his company by Ohakim purportedly for payment of rent was actually meant for the renovation of another house belonging to the former governor in Asokoro. “Chief Ohakim said we should use the N20m to renovate his house at No. 8, Haile Selassie, Asokoro Abuja,” Sule said. Sales agreement, deeds of assignment along with the tenancy agreement and cheques issued by Ohakim with respect to the property were tendered by Ohakim and admitted by the court as exhibits. Earlier, while cross-examining the first prosecution witness, Mr. Ishaya Dauda, defence counsel, Chief Awa Kalu (SAN), had said a search conducted by the EFCC at the Abuja Geographic Information Systems failed to yield any link between Ohakim and the property. But he added that Ohakim had explained to the EFCC that his (Ohakim’s) failure to declare the property as part of his assets was because his house in Owerri, the Imo State capital, had just been burnt down and his state of mind when he was arrested. He also tendered seven documents including petitions which he said led to the EFCC’s investigation of the case. Upon request by the defence counsel, Justice Ademola adjourned cross-examination of Sule till January 26, 2016. http://www.punchng.com/?p=13932 |
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed, has sent a memorandum to Justice Mohammed Yunusa of the Federal High Court, Lagos, for alleged misconduct. The memo, dated November 19, was addressed to Justice Yunusa through the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta. The CJN demanded an explanation from Justice Yunusa on a petition sent to the National Judicial Council (NJC) by a businesswoman, Mrs Rachidatou Abdou, who is a party in a suit before the judge. Justice Yunusa was given 14 days to respond to the CJN’s memorandum. In her petition of November 11, Mrs. Abdou, a Beninois resident in Nigeria, narrated how Justice Yunusa allegedly connived with the lawyer to her opponent to deny her justice. The petitioner said she wrote to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on alleged manipulation of incorporation documents of a company, Rana Prestige Industries Limited, which she co-owned with a fellow Beninois, Mr. Gnahoue Sourton Nazaire. She said her grouse about the co-director was that he allegedly colluded with the lawyer, who handled the incorporation, to change the share capital holding structure from 50 per cent each between her and Nazaine to 60 per cent and 40 per cent in favour of her partner. Mrs Abdou said her partner allegedly forged her signature to change the share holding of the company. The petitioner also said her co-director allegedly connived with his younger brother, Mr. Denon Modeste, who she described as an employee of the company, to divert the company’s funds while she was in France for six years. She accused Justice Yunusa of conniving with the lawyer to her opponent to frustrate EFCC’s probe of her petition. Mrs Abdou said her opponent, through their lawyer, filed three suits to stop EFCC’s investigation of her petition. The petitioner expressed shock that Justice Yunusa had allegedly been communicating with the lawyer to her opponent before the suits were filed and when they were still pending, contrary to judicial officers’ ethics. She averred that Justice Yunusa spoke severally with the lawyer to her opponent and exchanged Short Messaging Service (SMS) with him. Mrs Abdou vowed to expose the alleged conversation anytime she is invited. The petitioner alleged that her co-director had been boasting in Cotonou that he had pocketed the judge in the matter. She also said Justice Yunusa’s judgment in a suit delivered on August 18, confirmed her worst fear and confirmed her allegation when she was fined N6,000,000 as damages. http://thenationonlineng.net/cjn-queries-judge-for-misconduct/ |
I guess your friend should grow up! Fine she did what was not right, nevertheless, it is obvious he wasn't the only one she was dating and only accepted marrying him as the best option for her. Since it was done before the wedding he should just let go, after all he has not told us of all his flings before his wedding night. |
O God help our soldiers to over come these terrorists in Jesus Name - Amen |
Does PDP as a party has any right to declare any candidate a winner in an election it did not conduct but was conducted by INEC. Another show of the impunity they are known for. PDP can not just learn. |
Everyone that partook of this blood money at the expense of our soldiers lives who stake their lives for the security and unity of this country will surely pay with their lives, if they evade justice here in Nigeria, they will surely suffer and die like some, that are already treating cancer in Jesus name. |
THE Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of two of its five operatives over alleged involvement in robbery and sharing of N310 million belonging to a Bureau De Change operator in Abuja. In a statement issued by Tony Opuiyo yesterday, the intelligence-gathering organisation said military authorities have also arrested one Captain Hussein Ishaku Mshelia for allegedly leading four other military personnel to participate in the crime. DSS said it was conducting further investigation with military authorities to apprehend the three operatives and four military personnel still at large. The statement reads: “The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to inform the general public that the service has arrested two out of five of its staff involved in the robbery and sharing, on November 20, of N310 million belonging to a Bureau De Change operator in Abuja. “While three of the DSS staff are now at large, the military authorities have commenced a detailed investigation of five of its personnel involved in the crime. “Preliminary investigations have revealed that Abdulrasheed Ahmadu Maigari of the DSS conspired with four other colleagues of his namely: Solomon Inusa, Peter Okoye, Patrick Ishaya and George Mwatapwa Ibbi, to carry out this reprehensible act. “The five military personnel were led by one Capt. Hussein Ishaku Mshelia. “Meanwhile, the service has arrested Maigari and Ibbi; and Mshelia was equally arrested by the Army authorities. “Efforts are ongoing to apprehend those still at large. A total of N66,437,445.00 and $6,200 have so far been recovered, while efforts are being made to recover the remaining amounts.” The statement added that both the DSS and military authorities were collaborating under the inter-agency cooperation principles outlined few years ago and that they required inputs from the public to succeed. http://thenationonlineng.net/n310m-robbery-dss-arrests-operatives/ |

Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of the Auchi, Edo State based Omega Fire and Miracles Ministries, is a motivational and faith-building teacher. Suleman, in this interview, shares his ‘prophecies from God to nations and individuals’ while demonstrating, that, by faith and actions of leadership, there is great hope that people will be impressed with how God affects lives and then turn to God in reality. Specifically, he says he warned that the late APC governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, could die in the middle of election. Your ministry appears to growing across the world, and you continue to open more, branches. What inspired this spread? Christ Jesus is the secret of the growth of Omega Fire and Miracles Ministries. We employ this dynamic approach to winning souls for Christ and this approach regularly attracts God to the multitude because we demonstrate kindness to the people, thereby giving evangelism clearer meaning and making it more effective than mere giving sermon. The ministry is also spreading fast with “Celebration TV” which we established to take the gospel into the homes, schools, offices and businesses of millions across the world. We have achieved a lot in revealing God in His true form as well as restoring destinies in millions of homes across the world. We have charitable outreaches like ‘Voice of Fire’, ‘Turning Point’, ‘New Anointing’, ‘My Turn’, ‘Moment of Grace’, ‘Freedom Hour’, ‘Saved’, ‘Jehovah The Doctor’, ‘Power To Excel’, and several others, with which we seek to educate leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick and teach the next generation, while conducting massive charitable works. Apart from this, I write books that are not just inspirational but also teach true friendship as well as helping to develop relationships in God’s ways even as we use the approach to find a caring and creative ways to evangelize. Profits from the books are used to provide assistance to the poor, victims of disasters, and the diseased. Apostle Suleman Apostle Suleman Late Abubakar Audu after voting on Saturday, November 21, 2015 Late Abubakar Audu after voting on Saturday, November 21, 2015 Apart from evangelising around the world, you are also noted for fore-telling events. Among the several you have foretold, can you tell us few? I want to start with the latest, and that was the death of Abubakar Audu in the Kogi State election. I was at a crusade in our Houston Texas branch on November 7, 2015, when God revealed to me that a popular politician in Nigeria could die in the middle of an election. I told the nation. Then there was the event on September 20, 2015 when I said I saw that there was going to be fresh bombings in Borno and I asked Nigerians to go into prayer. Many had believed that with the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari to power, the Boko Haram bombings were going to stop but God said not yet. Also, on Sunday October 25, 2015, I told the world that I saw an aircraft of a foreign nation crashing with no casualty. That later happened to be Dynamic Airways which caught fire but no life was lost. All the events where these prophecies were announced were aired live on our ministry’s Celebration TV. On May 29, 2015, God spoke through me and I said it that the Buhari government would fight churches. Not long after, the Kaduna State governor, El-Rufai, shut down a church in Kaduna. This particular warning was repeated on August 28 and September 6, 2015. On June 26 and July 6, 2015, I foresaw fire outbreak and buildings collapse in Lagos, which came to pass. On that same June 26, I warned of an inferno at Onitsha market, which also came to pass, because people ignored these warnings and refused to seek God’s face over them. Also, I’m the first man of God that foresaw the demise of Chief (Mrs.) HID Awolowo. During the September Fire and Miracle Night, I did warn of the impending death of a prominent female figure that will touch the nation. Most men of God rarely speak about their wives. Would you like to share the role of your wife in running the church? Any victory by the family in the war against the devil is ultimately reflected in the society. For a Christian family, particularly in the leadership, the victory is mirrored on the church. Therefore, this is the result of the role a woman plays in the family and in the church. God has blessed me with a wonderful woman, a firebrand evangelist and a mass communication expert who has the rare privilege of sharing in the anointing, and who has remained steadfast and untiring at building the home, the church and society in general. She is Pastor (Mrs.) Lizzy Johnson Suleman, a mother and wife whose everyday efforts are reflecting massively in the success of the church. What is your latest message to Nigerians? I recall, in March this year, I told the nation that in six months’ time, Nigerians would want to stone President Buhari. The manifestation is there now. Yes, the President means well, but then, Nigerians have suffered for too long and they have become so impatient they don’t need someone to preach to them about tomorrow.
