Shame on the man. Black Americans never disappoints. |

That’s why I don’t feel pity for them when calamity strikes. I remember how these criminals in uniforms chased a driver near Sawmill Bridge in Ibadan on a Sunday evening after the 2019 presidential election. They were driving recklessly against traffic until, unfortunately for them, a trailer rammed into their car. One officer fell and died instantly. That day, I realized just how much I despise Nigerian police officers. For the first time in my life, I watched a man die and felt nothing. As other officers frantically made calls, crying, "Commando don die!", all I could think was, "Good, he deserves it". What disturbs me most, In all my years since, I've never again felt such complete indifference toward death, not for any person, not even a stray animal. That hollow moment revealed something dark in me I never knew existed. Now I pray never to witness such a scene again, because when death moves you less than a stone in the road, something inside has died too |
What money cannot achieve, more money can. Hiring and firing or hiring and resigning are normal aspects of life. Reno was once part of Peter Obi’s PR team, just as he was previously part of Atiku’s team. So if someone from Peter Obi’s camp decides to join APC or President Tinubu’s team, it’s no cause for alarm, another person will simply be hired to fill the role. |
The issue isn’t that some government and public officers buy cars worth millions or billions, it’s the hypocrisy of the same Nigeria’s public office holders. They’re quick to claim there’s "no money" when it comes to serving the masses, yet their lavish lifestyles tell a different story. Just recently, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike attended an event in a Rolls-Royce. And he’s not alone, this is the norm for most of our so-called "public servants." It makes you wonder: Is Nigeria truly a poor country? Because our leaders never miss an opportunity to flaunt their wealth. Wike, for instance, has held public office since 1999. Yet, no one bats an eye when he shows up in a Rolls-Royce well, unless, of course, it’s a borrowed car. How many leaders from countries that lend us money arrive at events in luxury cars like Rolls-Royces? The contrast is glaring. This country continues to disappoint. |

We must repeal this cybercrime act 2024 and create a new one. Nigeria's security agencies, particularly the police, are weaponizing it against citizens. The current law exists solely to silence Nigerians. The reality is, under the Cybercrime Act 2024, there’s almost nothing you can do online without law enforcement twisting it into an offense. This is blatant suppression, and it has no place in a democracy. Today na VDM, tomorrow fit be you. |
I hope you're not in a relationship or thinking of going into a relationship? Because you don't deserve one. At 23 many were still jambites, some were still in their father's house playing PlayStation (boys), some have not even figured out what they want for themselves even some have not even started figuring out themselves so take a chill and look for ways of improving yourself. If any guy try mistakingly toast dis one na liability promax ooo |
Beautiful childhood ![]() These were all wonderful soap opera and TV programs that made my childhood. Those days that television stations closes by 11:00pm and 11:00am. More importantly, I remember how we always anticipated to get home after school closes by 3:30pm to go watch at 4:30pm cartoons like Voltron, biker mice etc Cadbury breakfast television (every Saturday) was the bomb, because i know fully well that mumsi won't trouble me to watch it from 8:00am to 10:00am (because it's Saturday) Nite shift (on DBN television). Childhood is the best because you no even get any responsibility, na only to eat, read your book, play with siblings for house, sleep and chop food. Children no know wetin dem dey enjoy until dem become adults. |
VDM really do dis guy dirty |
This is how it should be! We don’t have to adopt every Western tradition. In African culture, especially in Nigeria, it’s the woman who kneels to serve her husband palm wine as a sign of respect and submission. Kneeling to propose or kneeling to handing a woman a ring, is essentially surrendering your authority to her. If I ever see a man kneeling to give his girlfriend, fiancée, or wife a ring, I’ll consider him as an ignorant fellow. Bros, no matter wetin you dey do with babe for dis life, woman past dey very important and man future dey very important. Dem dey born woman with value but as a man na you go create value for yourself, I no fit dey create value make you as a girl/lady dey LovePeddler around den you go come dey tell me sey your past no mata. |
Every church I’ve attended in my life as a Catholic including my current one has been a permanent structure. Catholic churches are rarely, if ever, housed in rented buildings. If you choose to attack the Church over something as harmless as this trend, it says more about you than anything else. It reveals a lack of depth and refinement in your judgment. All these were wey dey come Christian trend dey criticize am, why una no open una own trend to make una point. Most of una dey shameless. |
Keep flying Nigeria flag high girl..... You're doing well. |
The PDP performed even worse under Obasanjo’s administration. The core issue lies in the mindset of most Nigerian politicians, they lack any real ideology. This is precisely why I respect leaders like President Tinubu and Minister Wike. They have remained steadfast in their political parties since the beginning of the Fourth Republic, demonstrating rare consistency in a landscape dominated by opportunism. Na where belle face be all Nigerian politicians. |
Let’s be honest with ourselves, this is far from the truth. The actual situation is much worse than what’s being claimed. I’m no math expert, but I’ll break it down as I see it. If you claim ₦1,000,000 is now worth ₦100,000, that implies a reduction of about 0.1%. But in reality, (base on prices of regular household commodities) the decline has been far more drastic. From 2015 to now, the value of money has dropped by over 1,000% (0.001%) which is actually more than the 0.1% that was state In my estimation, ₦1,000,000 in 2015 is barely worth ₦50,000 today, based on the prices of everyday household items. Let's even leave prices of cars and luxuries lets use regular daily needs of Nigerians. How much did Sunflower oil cost in 2015 compared to now? Let’s look at the numbers: Spaghetti (500g Golden Penny): In 2019, it was ₦150 (retail); today, it’s ₦1,500. Sunflower oil: In 2019, ₦3,500; now, over ₦25,000. Garri Egba, (in Ibadan): In 2019, ₦300 per congo; now, over ₦2,000. And this is just 2019 if we go back to 2015 prices, you’ll see that the cost of basic food items has surged by nearly 2,000%. Keep in mind, by 2015, the ₦18,000 minimum wage was already four years old, meaning inflation had long taken hold. So, if anything, I’m being generous to the government by using 2019 as a reference. If dem explain Nigerian for you and you understand, dat one mean sey dem no explain am well because normally to understand Nigeria suppose give you headaches. |
This move by Wike is just cheap blackmail. Why was the wife of the speaker of HOR not present as earlier stated besides you can't force the wife of Ibas on them knowing fully well the issues on ground. Make Wike dey calm down, no be you like de president pass, just like dem talk, no dey try to be more Catholic pass Pope. |
This has always been my fear since the student loan program was introduced. I knew corruption around it would be massive. The idea itself is good, but we’re simply not at the level where we can implement such a policy without corruption especially when it involves disbursing money. This is pure madness. In theory, students are supposed to repay the loans after completing their education and securing jobs. But the real question is: how will the government recover the money? With all the issues already surrounding NELFUND, I seriously doubt they’ll be able to get Nigeria’s money back. The same thing happened under Buhari’s administration, loans were given to empowerment beneficiaries, and till today, that money hasn’t been recovered. Some of them used the funds for owambe and forgot that the government trained them and gave them money from public resources. There’s zero accountability in this country, so the corruption just keeps going. It’s painful. Jeez… what’s really wrong with us in this country? Were we cursed or something?

Could someone please explain how bank SMS charges work? I always thought banks use bulk SMS for their customers, but if that's the case, why are their charges higher than regular SMS rates? Additionally, I'd like to know if banks also charge customers for promotional and other messages they send out.

Why would anyone directly compare Lagos to Anambra? It doesn't make logical sense. To whom much is given, much is expected. In other words, the way I'll criticize governor of Lagos is not going to be the same with governor of Anambra so stop all the di*k measuring and if you want to do it, compare Lagos to other top cities in Africa. Shey na the same money dem dey collect ni, Lagos IGR alone go change the face of Anambra. |

If anyone tells you that they want to help you japa and the country is Arab country, that alone should be a red flag. Slavery still exists in most of these Arab countries. We've always heard of how Africans are sold to slavery in Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Arab countries. If you must japa, please go to good country that gives you true freedom. There's no way something like this can happen in Denmark, Sweden, Canada, New Zealand, Australia etc. Don't let your greed lead you in anything you do even in desperation. Wetin go make person wey you neva offer any service spend $20,000 and you no see am as red flag, if you no be ojukokoro. |
Interesting, this is a welcome development. Seun, keep up the good work and continue to add more features to Nairaland. |
Why do Nigerians derive pleasure when they hear that someone or people are deported back home? Is this bitterness or what. You'll see comments like "after spending all your money to travel, they've deposited you" in fact some of the comments reads pure bitterness and based on the comments these comments are especially coming from people who don't have the means to travel out. Oga, no dey happy sey bad thing happen to person just because your muscle no reach to do wetin de person do, that kind character worst pass witchcraft. |
If those that have worked or are working in hotels especially all these low budget hotels tell you what they see in hotel you'll really be scared of marriage. Person wey go cheat go cheat. You see dis thing wey dem call marriage na try your luck de formula wey work for Emeka fit no work for Kunle. |
These players won't be counted a broke after retirement no matter how difficult the can be for ex footballers due to their life style. Education is very important that's why people like Sunday Olise, Seyi Olofinjana and co who acquired education during their playing days are still relevant in football and can always get jobs in sports and other sectors. |

The certificates and degrees they've are very relevant in football and sports in general. BafanaBafana: |
The only thing that deceived you is your greed so take responsibility for your decisions and actions. Dis ya curse no fit even go beyond the place wey you dey ie if wetin you dey do be real because dis one fit be skit or clout chaser. |
Why is Nigeria having difficulty protecting herself from foreigners if it's foreigners that are perpetuating these violence. This is not the first time that a popular figure would make a statement like this in the past years, why is Nigeria having problems with dealing with issues like this, because you don't hear things like this in any serious country. There's something fundamentally wrong with Nigeria. There's need for state police ASAP. My secondary school classmate go say even if be Tyson "if you fight me enter my house baba de fight go hard you there ooo because na me sabi my house pass you". |
Just negodu where we are now! When you complain about how badly Nigeria economy has been doing for the past 10 years, they'll say that you're the enemy of Nigeria, some would tell you how we don't spend US dollars in Nigeria they'll even tell you that Nigerians on social media have been programmed to hate their country. E go beta one day one day. |
