None. Engineering by itself never made anyone rich enough to be considered among the worlds wealthiest. There are basically two ways to become that rich:
Inherit riches.
Be a successful business man or woman.
Sure some of the worlds richest people are engineers, but being an engineer is at a best a secondary reason for their success, what set them apart is their business sense (or being lucky enough to be born into wealth).

That said, good engineers tend to be well compensated, but there a big difference between being well compensated (i.e. upper middle class, perhaps even rich) and being among the world's richest (i.e. a multi-billionaire in 2015 US dollars). I don't care how good of an engineer you are, if you don't have a knack for business you will never be able to count yourself among the world's richest.

If you do posses the necessary business acumen, then the branch of engineer that currently shows the most promise is probably software; but those who become billionaires tend not to follow the obvious path, so any branch may help get you there; it ultimately comes down to whether you can come up with a suitable business plan (and some luck mixed in).
