Hello, Naira Landers...
I was surfing on Facebook when I came across this joke-like truth.
"Racism will never end as long as white cars are still using black tires. Racism will never end if people still use black to symbolize bad luck and white for peace. Racism will never end if people still wear white clothes to weddings and black clothes to funerals. Racism will never end as long as those who don't pay their bills are blacklisted not whitelisted. Even when playing snooker. You haven't won until you've sunk the black ball, and the white ball must remain on the table. But I don't care, as long as I'm still using white toilet paper to wipe my butt, I'm fine!" --Robert Mugabe

Sometimes, I could go a day and a half without food.) bera do the right thing or you ll kill yourself ..bemused child... rawbish. So, if I believe there's no God, that would cure my pain abi? Did you read the post at all. For your information, this one's already taken by Jesus. Back to the post, did you read that going a day without food happened a few years back? Was it my intention? Did I tell you I was fasting? Just do what you know how to do, bro, make plenty people can talk their mind for here. have a nice day. |
Christianity Etc › Re: But Why Would God Allow Someone To Be Killed While Preaching His Words ? by Abra4real(m): 9:38pm On Jul 11, 2016 |
tayooluwole: I have heard many cases of God's word preachers who have been killed, slaughtered and brutally mutilated while preaching or on other duties in respect to biblical God's commandment. Many were burnt alive while withing the church premises praying and praising God, many captured and were easily slaughtered, many were captured within their own house, raped and eventually killed and many more cases like that.
Seriously, all these occurrences left me with one critical question that has been dominating my mind for years, that why would God keep silent while such horrific murder is being unleashed on his consistent servant ? Why can't God, weather spiritually or physically, prevent such tragedy, to at least encourage other worshipers and consolidate the believe that God is truly mighty as it is being claimed. Preventing such tragedy, to me, has the efficacy of preventing many people from waking up one day and start thinking at all weather God exist or not. Should we say our so called popular pastors, knows that there is no divine assistance they can enjoy while facing assassinating temptation and that is why most of them move all around with sophisticated security outfit...
I beg, rational whosiper should come to my rescue in answering this question ooo... Think about this for a while. If you want more, I'll surely deliver it to you. Matthew 10:16-18 says, 16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. |
Health › What's Wrong With My Body? Am I Just Lazy? ...stubborn? by Abra4real(op): 9:26pm On Jul 11, 2016 |
Hello, NairaLanders... I'm facing some problems now in my body, so I want all health specialists and doctors on nairaland to advise me. It all happened in 2013 when a tumor started growing in my left lower jaw. For the sake of privacy, I won't mention the name of the hospital I went for checkup. I was diagnosed of Osifying Fibroma. Long story short, because of money, I couldn't go to the theatre. I was operated live on the chair. You heard that right. Right on the chair. I saw as the tumor (taken out in chunks) were removed. But in the process of that surgery, something strange has happened since then. Now, I feel intense pain in my chest, as if a 100-kg weight is laid on it. It gets more intense when I do activities like run, jump, or carry heavy things. Also, I noticed that toxic air now makes me choke and gives me pain on my chest. As if that wasn't enough, now I feel an increase in body temperature everytime. It's not like people can all feel it when they touch me, but I do feel it. Have a cold shower? It'll still be high. Have a hot shower? It'll still be high. In fact, it combines itself with the intense pain. The complicated part is that: 1) I feel the pain, but it doesn't have the effect of an headache or general body pain. For example, after running and feeling that pain on my chest, I'll just heave some deep breaths and relax for some minutes and the pain will be reduced to the minimum. 2) I don't always feel the increase in temperature. For example, while in the bus. You know that breeze flow while the bus is moving, so it cools me down. But immediately after I alight and start walking home, it comes back. It might subside for a while because of the heat the walking is producing on my body, but when I get home, it comes with full force. Like the intense pain, I'll have to relax for sometime before it reduces to the minimum. Now imagine me feeling this two at the same time. I'm saying all this so that you can know what I'm going through. I've worked in factories, multimedia companies, and even poultry farms, but my body can't take it anymore with what I'm experiencing. For your information, I don't plan to do strenght-tasking job for a profession. I want to be a full-time writer. That's the only job I can do now all day without complaining. Please, no blame or criticizing game like our president here. I have suffered this body a lot. I was living alone (when I was 15) in an area of Ogun State and working in a fish-rearing farm. Sometimes, I could go a day without food. Sometimes, I could go a day and a half without food. There was some time that after working in the farm, I just went to a corner to rest. Shout I no 'gree answer. Beg I no 'gree answer. I was extremely tired. I was even sick one of those days that my lower lip's skin peeled off. It was that bad. Now, I'm wondering what it could be: 1) I'd been diagnosed of Typhoid when I was small. Is it because I worked the Typhoid-infested body that brought it to this? 2) Is it because I was too young to be going through such at that time. You can't imagine how trekking to and from work was for me then. You remember all that time when we would trek from school at an average speed of 5 steps per seconds? That's how I walk. Yet, I would still use about an hour and 30 minutes trekking. Multiply that by two and you have three hours of an average of 5 steps by seconds. Yes, including Sundays and Saturdays. Please, what could be wrong with me. Is it that I'm lazy? ...stubborn? ...weak? Or is it because I just viewed it that way? And yes, leave God out of this matter "abeg." God didn't tell me to work my ass off Mondays to Sundays at age 15. In case you're wondering, I'm a Christian and born again, so don't bring the issue of "God will take control." Yes, He can. But if he doesn't, that won't stop me from following Him. Again, miracles happen to be the talk of the town. Why is it called miracle, anyway? Awaiting your thoughtful, unbiased, non-Name Checking, non-zombiesm, non-wailing, anti-bigotry reply. lalasticlala, Seun, Mynd44, dominique, please help me move this to front page. |

Our books are there and everywhere from the bookshops on the street to the bookshops on the internet. We have books on Okada Books and on Amazon. But majorrity of you don't read. Lest you forget, those whose generation invented Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest and other social networks are still having the quality time to read their books that made JK Rowling's "Harry Potter" to sell millions of copies in the last decade and made " Fifty Shades of Grey" of E.L James to sell more than 100 million copies within three years! But how many of you in Nigeria read them? Only few. Very few.
Chimamanda has sold more than 700, 000 copies of her award winning bestselling novels, but only about 20,000 copies have been sold in her home country Nigeria. Why? Ah! Nigerians don't read, because majority of them are intellectually lazy and prefer celebrity gossip to listening and reading books.
Millions of the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) who make so much noise about our Daddy GO, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye don't read his books! When I was working in the office of Redemption Light magazine of RCCG, selling up to 10, 000 copies every month was miracle! Because, millions of the members of the church prefer to read City People, Encomium, OVATION International and other worldly magazines. They also devour porn magazines sold on the streets! Majority of them are just hypocrites and miracle seekers.
Coming to Nollywood, the most popular home video industry in Africa. Millions of Nigerians and other Africans in Africa and the Diaspora have been enjoying thousands of Nollywood movies on Mnet's AfricaMagic channel, Startimes and other cable TV networks; public and private TV channels; iROKO TV, Ibaka TV and other online streaming platforms, Afrinolly mobile streaming on GSM networks and from street vendors and pirated copies, but less than 10, 000 of these millions of Africans have read the books and other publications on Nollywood. Charles Novia is a popular Nollywood filmmaker and writer, but how many of them have read his " Nollywood Till November "? 99% of his fellow filmmakers in Nigeria, actors and thousands of fans have not read it! And the book is available online and offline. My own Nollywood Mirror series are available even for free on Amazon Kindle with free reading app, but Nigerians are not reading them! Only white people are reading them!
Engaging in daily chitchats and celebrity gossip on Facebook and other social media networks is not reading! . Would you mind creating a thread for this post I quoted. Tag lalsticlacla and others reading this thread. I'm sure it'll make front page. |

It attempts to fry your brain like zombies and wailers tell themselves. No realism. Maybe we would start importing garri then, because it would be cheaper. See, let me tell you, those authors don't care what happens with publishers or what they do with their books. They want advance and royalties to appear at their doorstep while they continue to write. Tell me, why couldn't the Big 6 publishers in United States create an ebook platform long ago? Why are they still opposed to it? Who couldn't they create their own platform, withdraw every author's books from other platforms, and sell relatively low? One sentence: THEY DON'T CARE! 1 Like |
