Ex-Head of state, General Yakubu Gowon has said that restructuring Nigeria is impossible.
General Gowon said Nigeria’s restructuring is impossible because the country is made up of over 5000 ethnic groups with ethnic dialects and languages which would not allow each group to yield to another in terms of concession of certain benefits.
The Former Head of State gave the statement while speaking at Minna, Niger State.
According to him, there would be various definitions of what restructuring is by the various ethnic groups and that this would make it impossible for the groups to come to general conclusion as to what it really should be.
General Gowon who urged for a united Nigeria however doubted the buoyancy in finance by state governments to fend for themselves if the country is to be restructured to regional bases as being pushed by some.
According to him, “Nigeria is made up of over 500 ethnic groups, languages and dialects and so many various groups called nationalities and they want restructuring.
“This restructuring everybody is asking for, we will have about 500 different ideas of restructuring. There is call for restructuring to reduce the number of states to only a few either back to the old region or to the zones.”

“Those are some of the ideas that I do not know whether it will be possible for any state today to wish to be merged with another state. Let us see whether our politicians will see guidelines to be able to achieve what they want.

“But I have my problem whether the states will be financially capable so they will be able to run there states properly.”

Just know that things have changed as it should be clear to you now that northerners are no longer the sole custodians of violence but SE/SS are too. Igbos are never afraid of anybody. Igbo men like women so much and irrespective of the tribes of the women, the Igbo men can marry them and as well treat them well unlike the saying that the Igbo men don't like to marry women from other tribes which a lie from the pit of he'll. For example Rochas Okorocha's mother is an Hausa woman, Gen.Ike Nwachukwu's mother is fulani and so on.

The cause of this agitation is due to historical injustice against the Igbos in Nigeria by the irresponsible and selfish people that have ruled this country, Nigeria, in the past beginning from Yakubu Gowon. "Treat these surrendering Ibos well or their children will rise again"- Gen. Effiong. Irrespective of the military training being given by the British military at the moment to the Nigerian military against Igbo's agitation though stylishly termed training to combat terrorism, the revolution will still take place.

The Igbos have been treated with disrespect and have been subjected to cold civil war since 1970 till date. They are not carried along in the scheme of things in the country called Nigeria hence their agitation for Biafra. Take for an example, I know a yoruba parents that warned their daughters strictly never to marry Igbo men and one of the daughters asked why and the father said no reason but he didn't want anything that would associate him with Igbos. In a similar vein, a muslim northerner can never allow his daughters get married to an Igbo man in the Nigeria of today but their men are at liberty to marry Ibo ladies and convert them to Islam. There are cases where some tribes detest to hear the Igbo language spoken to their ears. Look at the lopsided appointments in this APC led administration, does it speak oneness? Employments in big fed.govt agencies are secretly made with mostly two tribes dominating the entire work force with few or no ibo person employed, e.g custom with hausa as their major language, the same with NNPC, Army, Navy, etc. An Igbo military personnel is retired compulsorily on getting to the post of a Major General or its equivalent. You don't see an Ibo soldier getting to the post of a General. If we really want to be one, then let's act like one and treat everybody equally as failure will consume and sink Nigeria. Those who are complaining about the Biafra agitation are those who are benefiting from the deceptive structure of Nigeria.

Why would the sultan mention only the girls as the ones who patronize the social media? What about the guys? But have you observed that the yorubas and northerners(esp the muslim northerners) will never allow their daughters to get married to Igbo men? And in order to dispirit their daughters from marrying Igbo men, they spread the false claim that Igbo men don't like to marry ladies from other tribes (lies from the pit of hell). And these are people begging for one Nigeria but they can't show it in their characters.
