6 TOP AND DIFFERENT WAYS TO COME UP WITH A BUSINESS NAME FOR YOUR STARTUP, PRODUCT OR APP FOR WEBMASTER AND BUSINESS OWNER. Business name could destroy your business for a startup or a product, you don’t just come up with funny name that look nice and appealing to you then you go ahead and name your startup or product with that, it requires conscious thinking and questioning to do that. Business name defines your business and it what your consumer or potential customers see you as before buying or using your product or that of your client. Here are 6 great ways to come up with an amazing name. 1. NAME BY DESIRE: This basically involves giving people a good idea of what you are doing, what your products or business all about and everything else about your business. It has unique advantages to your business by distinguishing you from your competitor and giving a mind benefit of your business to your customer. Examples include Onestop shop, Parknshop, Loan approval, Diehard battery, Power energy and so no. 2. ALLITERATION: Pick a word that describe your business or your niche, match it with another word that has the same rhythm, easy to spell, remember and pronounce. Examples White watches, American airlines, Credit capital, fast food. This is a great way and with much advert and publicity will make your product a house hold name. 3. INVENT A WORD OR WORD MARSH: In this, you don’t use a dictionary word; it involves pulling out something from the thin air. And you can marsh two word that fit together that have a great meaning to product or business e.g. Microsoft is a mixture of micro and software other examples include Walmart, Shoprite, Facebook, Youtube etc . This involve strategic thinking and this word has no meaning but after a few years of momentum it can be used to describe the house hold products. 4. OWN A WORD: Pick a word that is known in the English language that is ideally linked to your business or product and aggressive attached your business to that particular name, if you can nail it and the domain name is available on the web. It is great because when anyone think of that word they think of you for instance the word apple, what came to your mind first? Am sure it not the fruit but apple computers. This way takes time to get momentum and trademark. Examples are Amazon , Yahoo, Proactive, Pandora, Twitter, Yale, Yelp. etc 5. WORD TWIST: Pick a word and twist it to something that not an English word or do not have a meaning and does not exist. It great but the word has to be simple and easy to memorize. Examples are: Xero, digg, fotolog, reddit, klin etc 6. WORD FROM ANOTHER LANGUAGE WITH GREAT MEANING: It is like picking an Igbo word or a Yoruba word for your business name. This could be your name, an acronym or a word that expresses your business in that language of choice. Examples Include Jumia, Konga, Omo etc Please after you have picked a business name for your product, startup or that of your client, follow through this set of rule: 1. It should not be long that is no more than 16 characters. 2. It should not be more than three words. 3. Don’t use your name or better still match it with something a word e.g Johnshop etc. 4. Make sure a domain name is available. 5. Register and host your name. The best platform I recommend for startup and new products is one.com its 8$ (#1800), plus a domain name, 5Gb hosting, Unlimited emails, web shop, and wordpress installation. CHECK IT OUT!!!
