Islam for Muslims / Adeleke University Ede Suspends Muslim Student For Church Non-attendance by abulbanaat(m): 8:00am On Jan 02, 2020
[color=#006600][/color]The authorities of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, Nigeria, has suspended the studentship of a part three Law student, Lawal Toheeb, for failure to attend the university’s imposed numerous chapel activities.

In a letter of suspension, signed by the school registrar, Mr. Oyerinde Caleb Oyejola JP, that was handed over to the affected student on 10th December, 2019, the university says, inter alia, ‘The President/Vice-Chancellor considered the report of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee that found you guilty of gross disrespect to Constituted Authority. The Vice-Chancellor subsequently approved that you should be suspended from all academic activities in the University for One Semester to commence second semester of 2019/2020 academic session in line with the sanction in the Students’ Handbook…’.

Lawal Toheeb was invited to face the disciplinary committee on 3rd Decemeber, 2019, at the Senate Building of the school, that has persons like Pastor Andrew Emuroutu, Mrs. Omije; the Chief Security Officer of the School, Mr. Kola Ojetoye; Professor Oguntoyinbo Atere, the Dean of Students’ Care; as members. The Panel was chaired by the school registrar, Mr. Oyerinde Caleb Oyejola.

According to Lawal Toheeb, all his pleas to the panel that he is a Muslim fell on their deaf ears. He said they all alluded to the fact it was a mandatory rule of the school that all students must attend the chapel services.

The school Sabbath Worship takes place 8-45am to 9-15am on Saturdays, so also in the evenings of Wednesdays and Saturdays, as contained in page 49 of the student’s handbook.

This website confirmed that the Sabbath activities on Saturdays used to end by 12 noon, while the ones in the evening of Wednesdays are till sunset.

The Handbook states, ‘careful preparation should be made for the Sabbath especially on Friday before sundown: clothes and shoes to be worn on Sabbath should be made ready between (5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.).’

‘The following are activities that are in harmony with the spirit of the Sabbath observance: (a) Attending religious services, (b) Maintaining reverence during the worship, (c) enjoying church fellowship,’ the Handbook also states.

In our investigation, the school operates a merit/demerit system for obedience or disobedience to the various rules and regulations of the school among which is compulsory attendance of chapel services where the Seventh Day Church doctrines such as singing, dancing, preaching and host of other activities, hold sway. There are a number of chapels such as Shalom Chapel, Salvation Chapel, Grace Chapel, Praise Chapel, Peace Chapel, etc., that all the students have been grouped.

Non-attendance of chapel programme attracts a 10-point demerit, which was formerly a 5-point, according to our findings. A student who has amassed between 10 and 60 points of demerits may be asked to carry out a community service such as sweeping the floor of the surroundings, cutting the grass, cleaning the gutters, or other dirty jobs, all in the university arena. But at any point above 60 demerits, the student will be summoned to face a disciplinary panel from where he can be suspended and eventually expelled from the school if he is returned and does not comply with the law of compulsory chapel attendance.

However, according to Lawal Toheeb, in his personal report he forwarded to this website, ‘The genesis significantly began at a screening interview held on the 3rd of November 2017 where I appealed to the board that I am not willing to compromise my religion by attending the Sabbath worship.’

‘I said, ‘I hope there is a concession for me’. However, it was the Students Care Dean’s voice I heard first, remarking that ‘No! If you refuse to abide by the law of the land then be ready to be expelled from this school,’’ he said further.

‘The school exercises continued and my artless mind remained in trauma… I had to attend the chapel worships every Wednesday evening and Saturday, morning and evening. Then a week soon came that the attendance ran on for a whole week and no days were spared. When present in the service, we were obliged to throw all worries behind and ‘stand with those who stood’. ‘to sit as others did’ they would not mind if we clapped along also. They would always ask for that and persuade us to close eyes as they pray.’

‘Each day we were found unyielding, they would seize our cards and scare us with demerit points or community services.

'I was once caught in my room by the Hall officers on a Sabbath morning and dragged to the security post. ‘I’m a Muslim’ I objected but they were always gutsy and swift to reply ‘other Muslims are there.’ I found my way back in having spent about an hour loitering aimlessly around the Security Post awaiting sanction.’

In the tail end of the report, the student wrote: ‘Earlier this semester, I faced Disciplinary Committee on charges of the non-attendance of Sabbath worships and not appearing before the panel back then. I explained again, ‘I am a Muslim and I hold a different belief and that I once appeared back then too but left for exams’ but they were indifferent.

Then the officers came for me yesterday about 4:pm and was led to the CSO who asked, if you would be indifferent why did you remain here? And I frankly replied ‘I never knew it is Zero Tolerance if I don’t compromise’. He couldn’t say anything to it. Asked me to be taken to the Senate for the letter.

And just yesterday sir, I was served a suspension letter by Mrs. Ajayi on those charges for a full semester commencing January (I have attached the suspension letter) also.’ End of quote.

Click here to read his full report.

Meanwhile, the school has always claimed that it does not force the Muslim students to attend church services in the school, in a statement credited to the Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Samuel Ekundayo Alao, that appeared in an interview he granted a newspaper outfit of the school, Adeleke Star, in its November 18, 2019, edition, he said, ‘such malicious rumour cannot be spread by Muslim students in the institution who are enjoying the freedom to practice their religion and other benevolent acts of the institution.’ The newspaper also alluded to him as saying that the large number of students in the school are well treated.

Many other Muslim students who do not wish that their names be published for fear of possible backlash from the school authorities have said the VC is being economical with the truth. For instance, some of them cited an instance of forbiddance of observance of Muslim daily prayers in the school. They said attempts to use makeshift places for prayers have always been met with harsh actions from the agents of the school. They say the school only makes a-once-in-a-week political Jumaht attendance at Adeleke mosque in the town, a case of spoiling the students for six days and trying to show the world they are well treated for just a day, this investigation discovers.

It would be recalled that this website carried the story of a female Muslim student who had to leave the university when she was refused the use of Hijab. There are many other cases of Muslim students leaving the school in the face of intimidation.

To an outside world, Adeleke University depicts the look of a secular private university but which findings have shown is doctrinally a Seventh Day Adventist Church University.

Islam for Muslims / Lest They Torture The Islamic Education In Nigeria by abulbanaat(m): 6:39am On Nov 07, 2019
By Aboo Aamir Ishaaq bn AbdirRaheem

In the Name of Allaah the Most Compassionate the Most Beneficent

In the past weeks, there have been reports of discovery of torture and rehabilitation centres with a sizeable Muslim attribution in Nigeria. It was first mainly discovered in the Northern part of the country before the searchlight was beamed on the South via Ilorin. The latest was the one discovered at Ibadan in a couple of days ago known as Oloore Mosque where for ages had been a centre for reformation of people with infirmity of the mind and those who posed one or two threats to the society whose parents could not handle.

Truly in such centres, which are not limited to the ones controlled by certain local Muslims alone, weird and crude things happen all in the name of reforming hardened persons.

While it is normal that the torture cum rehabilitation centres be contained and checked, it has become necessary that the agencies responsible for the control should not mistake genuine centres of Islamic education for torture chambers as the message is being subtly sold to the public.

This piece, on one part, is an appeal to the concerned government agencies that they should not become ready tools in destroying the genuine Islamic education, in other words, they should not be agents of torture for the genuine Islamic education.

There are many well structured centres of Islamic education where the Qur'aan and its associated subjects are learnt across the country. These centres, for sure, are established to cater for the need of Muslim pupils and are not places of reformation for touts and thugs.

On the other part, the custodians of genuine Islamic centres across the country should ensure that their centres meet up the standard practices in their respective locations.

The environment where they operate must be neat and tidy. The building must be good looking. The hostel facilities (if there is) must be adequate. The students being trained should exhibit the good training they are receiving. The centres must be accessible to the public. The pupils should not be subjected to any form of inhumane treatment. There should be adequate health care service for the centres. The custodians of the centres should have good relationship with their immediate neighbours.

Islamic educators should ensure their centres are not turned to places where public-rejected wards are dumped for forceful rehabilitation.

It is also advised that the Islamic centres should get any form of registration under the government even if it is at the local government level, if they could register as charities with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, better.

The centres should also be conspicuous enough for all to see. They should not be cited in a forest-like area that suggests a sort of den for shady acts.

The Muslim public should see the Islamic centres as places collectively owned by all the Muslims hence they should always offer any help and assistance they can to these centres. There maybe indigent students in these centres in need of support, the Muslim philanthropists should always be on ground.

The Muslim public should know that the existence of these centres where the Qur'aan and Sunnah are memorized and studied is the very soul of Islam. Without them Islam vanishes gradually in the society.

It is believed if the above observations are taken care of, our Islamic centres will be safe from the evil machinations of those seeking the destruction and torture of the Islamic education in Nigeria and elsewhere.

May Allaah protect the Muslims.

Foreign Affairs / Spanish Police Crackdown On The Catalans by abulbanaat(m): 10:26am On Oct 01, 2017
Catalonia's independence referendum has begun in chaotic fashion, with police attempting to prevent the vote from taking place.

The Spanish government has pledged to stop a poll that was declared illegal by the country's constitutional court.

Police officers are blocking potential voters from entering polling stations, and are also seizing ballot papers and boxes.

Nonetheless, Catalan government officials have predicted a big turnout.

The ballot papers contain just one question: "Do you want Catalonia to become an independent state in the form of a republic?" There are two boxes: Yes or No.

Ahead of the polls opening, the Catalan government said voters could use any polling station if their designated voting place was shut.

One of Nato's biggest European military exercises is under way off Scotland's coast.
Joint Warrior is held twice a year - in spring and autumn.

The second staging of this year's exercises involves warships from European navies, as well as those from the US and Canada.

Many of the ships, including UK casualty ship RFA Argus, gathered in the Clyde ahead of Joint Warrior starting on Saturday.

Aircraft from Canada, France, Norway, the UK and US will fly out of RAF Lossiemouth in Moray and HMS Gannet at Prestwick in Ayrshire during the exercise, which runs until 12 October.

Nato army personnel will also be involved.
The exercise will test battlefield and anti-terrorism tactics, as well as training in anti-smuggling operations and humanitarian missions.

Joint Warrior overlaps with another Nato exercise, Formidable Shield, which is focused on the Western Isle's Hebrides Range.

Politics / Kanu, Biafra And Its Disciples By Azu Ishiekwene by abulbanaat(m): 1:00pm On Sep 21, 2017
When the founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, told The Interview in August that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, was being used to destroy Biafra, I thought it was their private fight playing out at last.

In the early days of MASSOB when Uwazuruike was planning to start Radio Biafra in the UK, he had reluctantly recruited Kanu to run the shop. One thing led to another and along the way the ambitious young Kanu had his own ideas. He supplanted his boss and took charge.
He has grown from pirate radio boy to something of a rock star and appears well underway to raising his own army, a fantasy that might, in the end, prove Uwazuruike right.

Before Kanu went into hiding last week, he had started reviewing a “guard of honour” as part of his daily routine. He announced the formation of the Biafra Secret Service (BSS) when he was receiving Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, a disciple who, after posting his bail bond, ought to have taken the young man to the hospital.

With support from a section of the Igbo elite led, surprisingly, by constitutional lawyer, Ben Nwabueze, Kanu has gone much farther since he formed the BSS. He paraded a Turkish tout who was supposed to have endorsed the Biafra state and deluded himself into believing that it is just a matter of time before other foreign governments will line up behind his ambition.

If he was in too much hurry to read what happened to Biafra 1 when Odumegwu Ojukwu needed global support, he should have simply Googled South Sudan and Eritrea for a current version of treachery and international politics.

Kanu has rallied hundreds of young people to his cause and managed to sell them on a fool’s paradise – a promise of heaven on earth, once Biafra is realised.

Regrettably, he has worked his supporters to a lunatic fringe; and the horrific videos from Aba and other parts of the South East in circulation last week showed how dangerously close the country was to the outbreak of another major bloody conflict.

We can argue all we want about who cast the first stone – IPOB supporters or soldiers deployed in the operation code-named Python Dance. Much has also been said about the propriety and motive for the deployment of the soldiers and whether or not IPOB should be banned.

Anyone who has been following Kanu recently, anyone who has listened to him demand the excision of parts of the country to make up his Biafra fantasy or heard him say it would not take him two weeks overrun Sokoto in the event of a war; anyone who has listened to his vile and inflammatory comments about those who don’t agree with him or other ethnic nationalities, and still thinks he’s just a wayward Boys Scout leader is free to sign up, just like Abaribe and co have done.

But no responsible government will fold its hands and allow the breakdown of law and order or watch aggrieved persons take the law into their own hands.

There were incidents of serious concern on both sides last week: the video of soldiers making unarmed youths roll in the mud and lie facedown at gunpoint in the mud or the video of suspected IPOB members in secret locations beating some folks believed to be from the North with planks and frisking commercial vehicles for “non-Biafrans” were like scenes from the early stages the Rwandan war.

These were extremely dangerous and frightening spectacles, and as they unfolded, Kanu the pirate radio warrior, who had been praying for war, was busy looking for a place to hide. The attitude of the soldiers identified in the video was deplorable and should be punished, but God knows that if soldiers had not been deployed it would have been an answer to Kanu’s prayer for mayhem.

If you think it’s an overstatement, then you haven’t seen the videos yet.

We must, by all means, avoid a repeat of Odi (1999) and Zaki-Biam (2001), where the deployment of troops after gangs clashed with the military led to the sacking of several villages and the killing of over 200 civilians. But those who are egging Kanu on must keep in mind that if they start a bushfire they can never tell how it would end.

Is there any merit in Kanu’s claim that the Igbo have been marginalised and unfairly treated, especially under President Muhammadu Buhari?

Sure. Buhari is the only presidential candidate in recent memory who would win an election with near-zero support from two major blocks – the South East and the South South. He should have seized the moment to broaden his base and run an inclusive government.

He didn’t. Yet, if Kanu thinks only Igbos are marginalised he only needs to look at Buhari’s “other room” to see that Igbos are in good company. Before Kanu formed his BSS, Aisha Buhari had sounded a public warning that her husband, the President, risked rebellion in the ruling All Progressives Congress by leaving those who worked to elect him out in the cold. She obviously felt marginalised.

Discontent inside the ruling APC is so real and touchable that if an elective convention was held today, it is uncertain that Buhari would win; yet he has surrounded himself with a few influential persons who will neither let him see the danger that he is in nor permit steps that could save him or his government. Buhari is a victim of his own choice.

It’s OK if Kanu or his supporters think that they are at the worst end of a bad deal. But he must keep in mind that the victims of the sort of mindless violence sparked off by his insane rhetoric are ordinary people – across ethnic lines – just trying to eke out a living.
The Igbos have done well for themselves and continue to well in spite of government. They have, over the years, built a heritage that should shame those who think that you can keep a people down by exclusion and spite. They don’t need Kanu to remind them of their achievements and the great work that still lies ahead.

Self-determination is a long, arduous and often costly journey. The Scots have been at it since 1853, the Catalans since 1922, and the people of Western Sahara for nearly four decades now. If Kanu is mad about achieving Biafra in his own lifetime as his wife said in a newspaper interview, those who love him should help him find a method for his madness or keep him on a leash.
I don’t subscribe to the view that anything is settled or that the current federal structure is serving citizens well. Those pretending otherwise know they’re deceiving themselves.

While the contest of ideas continues, however, I agree with the senior advocate Femi Falana, that serious state governments can, starting with matters that affect their residents the most, claw back acres of autonomy lost to Abuja within the ambit of the law. To act outside that ambit is to invite anarchy.

Politics / Video Footage Shows How Obanikoro Loaded Plane With ₦1.29b for Fayose by abulbanaat(m): 9:02pm On Jul 10, 2016
Fresh insights into how a former Minister for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro allegedly loaded a chartered aircraft with N1, 299, 490b for transfer to Governor Ayodele Fayose through an associate, Abiodun Agbele has been revealed.

The cash was transferred through HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited.

The first flight was filled with N724.5million cash to the extent that there was no seat for any crew member or the ex-Minister.

It was during the second flight with N494.990m that Obanikoro, his Aide-de-Camp, Lieutenant Colonel A.O Adewale, and crew member joined the trip to Akure Airport.

Records indicated yesterday that for each of the trip, Obanikoro paid $12,500 making a total of $25,000.

The EFCC has retrieved the footage details of Obanikoro’s movement at the airport and the flight schedule of the aircraft.

According to fresh evidence obtained by the EFCC, the ex-Minister had defied security gate at the airport in Lagos to move a bullion van to the apron of the chartered wing to off-load the cash.

Although the security men at the airport resisted the use of the security gate, the ex-Minister ordered soldiers to break all barriers for the bullion van to get to the apron.

A reliable source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Contrary to his attacks on EFCC, we have retrieved the footage and details of how he ordered soldiers to break the barriers at the reserved security gate at Lagos Airport for a bullion van to go to the apron of the chartered service wing.

“He defied security men at the airport and refused to subject the bullion van to any screening contrary to aviation rules. In fact, apart from financial crimes, the ex-Minister, and his accomplices have outstanding allegations against them for violating aviation safety rules or regulations.

“The aircraft made two shuttles to Akure Airport on June 17, 2014. Our investigation revealed that during the first flight, about N724.5million was offloaded from the bullion into the aircraft. The cash occupied all the space to the extent that there was nowhere to sit by the crew and the ex-Minister.

“But when the balance of N494.990m was loaded into the aircraft for the second trip, Obanikoro, his ADC, one highly-placed person from the South-West, and the crew were able to make the trip.

“Let him continue to make noise in the United States instead of coming home to clear his name. We have interacted with the aviation staff on the ground on the said date. We have identified the owner of the aircraft to be a member of the sacked management of Skye Bank Plc.”

Meanwhile, there were indications yesterday that the ex-Minister paid $25,000 for the two flights to Akure at $12,500 each.

Another source confirmed that the aircraft belonged a member of the sacked management of Skye Bank Plc.

“We have evidence of the payment of $25,000 to Gyro Air Limited for the two flights to Akure. And Zenith Bank confirmed how Fayose’s associate, Agbele, brought the cash into its branch in Akure to keep as sundry funds.”

Responding to a question, the source said: “From our findings, the Minister and Fayose fought over N80million missing from the total cash.

“They had a shouting match until reasons prevailed between the two politicians on the whereabouts of the N80million.”

An Investigating Officer of the EFCC, Tosin Owobo during the week opened up at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti on how the N1, 299,490,000.00 was wired into Governor Ayodele Fayose’s accounts by one of his associates, Abiodun Agbele.

Owobo, who swore to an affidavit, said: “That the total sum of N 1, 219,490,000 (One billion, two hundred and nineteen million, four hundred and ninety thousand naira) was conveyed to Akure Airport by Senator Obanikoro through a chartered aircraft with Registration No: HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited.”

“That on the 17th day of June 2014, Mr. Alade Oluseye in the company of one Abiodun Agbele a front of the Applicant (Fayose), went to the Akure Airport wherein they took cash delivery of the sum of N724,500,000.00 from Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and his acclaimed Aide-de-Camp Lieutenant Colonel A.O Adewale.

“That on the 18th day of June 2014, another sum of N494, 990,000 was also delivered to Mr. Alade Oluseye by the said Minister in the same manner.

“ That the total sum of N 1, 219,490,000 (One billion, two hundred and nineteen million, four hundred and ninety thousand naira) was conveyed to Akure Airport by Senator Obanikoro through a chartered aircraft with Registration No: HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited.”

Technology Market / Airtel, Why? by abulbanaat(m): 8:46pm On May 25, 2016
I had never wished to use this forum to register this displeasure of mine at Airtel Nigeria simply because I am aware of how far the message could go. But Airtel is nothing but rigid and complacent so I need to let the world know of their evil.

One, I have concluded to jettison their Sim card but I like to warn the unsuspecting public about their dubiousness and I-don’t-care attitude.

This is my story:

On 19th day of May, 2016, I recharged my Airtel line 08082815017 with a sum of N1,000 to get a 1.5GB worth of data, that was after an ostensible advert from Airtel that they now offer 1.5GB at N1,000 among other bogus claims. So when I loaded the amount, a sum of N47.65 was immediately deducted from my recharge. Meanwhile, before then, I had been subject to a constant N10 deduction for a supposed VAS [Value Added Service] every time a damned message of Job Advert came into my phone. I lodge a complaint about that on 9th day of March, 2016 and they promised something would be done about it. So when I recharged on 19th May and N47.65 was deducted again, in fact, I had to quickly rush out and purchase a N100 recharge card lest the guys ‘thief’ everything; so when that amount was deducted again I lodged another complaint. To my chagrin, @airtel_care told me, also via their WhatsApp Platform, that and I quote: ‘Please be informed that the deduction observed on your line was for recovery of credit loan service that was taken on the 14th April 2016. Thank you.’ It was a shameful lie from whomever was behind the message. I never took any loan on that 16th. In fact, I had never taken any loan from any GSM provider in my life. So I asked them to prove it, till date they have been dumbstruck.

That is number one complaint.

Compliant Number Two: When eventually I converted the N1000 to data, I was credited with 1.5GB as they claimed. Please don’t forget that was on 19th day of May, 2016. But yesterday, 24th May, I was told my 1GB had been exhausted by me. I did not make any mistake, they said 1GB not 1.5GB.

My grouse, firstly, I don’t know how I would have exhausted the so called data just between 19th and 25th. yes I watched a couple of 10 min YouTube videos not enough to have ‘chopped’ everything. Secondly, help me aske Airtel Nigeria, what happened to the remaining .5GB. I have asked them but they are perhaps ruminating a lie to tell.

Simple, I am fed up with them.
If they do not want me to break their SIM (apology to everyone here for using your lingo), they should act fast. I have told them, I will at least convince 1000 people to break their SIM too. I need not tell them how effective I can so act. I give them 24 hours to act unless…

Politics / Femi Fani-kayode, Confronted With Multiple Fraud Cases, Sent Into EFCC Custody by abulbanaat(m): 9:48pm On May 09, 2016
Loquacious former Minister of Aviation and Campaign Director of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, has been remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), sources within the anti-graft body told SaharaReporters on Monday evening.

Mr. Fani-Kayode was forced to present himself at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja today after uniformed agents stormed his home Abuja at the weekend.

During today’s interrogation, Mr. Fani-Kayode learned that the EFCC actually has three cases of financial crime against him.

“He will be in our custody for a few more days because we have multiple fraud charges against him,” the confidential source disclosed to our reporter.

Specifically asked whether Mr. Fani-Kayode’s was as confident in the interrogation room as he has been in public, the EFCC source would only say, “He now knows that he is in big trouble and that investigators have gathered a lot of evidence against him.”

The source then clarified that the agency will begin questioning Mr. Fani-Kayode on Tuesday concerning the second and third set of allegations against him.

The former Minister’s home was raided last Friday by EFCC agents on account of N840 million he allegedly received from then President Goodluck Jonathan a few days before the 2015 presidential election.

SaharaReporters learnt Mr. Fani-Kayode received a total of over N1.7billion from different sources during his stint as campaign director for ex-President Jonathan.

Politics / Goodluck Jonathan Says He Will Recontest In 2019 by abulbanaat(m): 10:21pm On May 08, 2016
Former president Goodluck Jonathan has declared his interest to run for presidency in 2019 in Bayelsa State today. A jubilant crowd erupted as news leaked that the former president would be holding a press briefing this afternoon. In a statement released by his media secretary, the former president said, he has been inundated with calls from famous Nigerians to reconsider and salvage the economy from the current decay under the APC led government.
The statement reads in part: “A while ago I stood at the stood Eagle Square, to offer myself for election as the President of our beloved country on the platform of our great party; the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). I decided to run for office because of the many troubles our dear country faced. In a hotly contested election, we ‘lost’ the election to the opposition. We would have rejected the election results but decided my personal ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian.
“I made it clear then that when I leave office, Nigerians will understand the freedom they enjoyed under my administration. Are my I saint? Certainly not. Were my Ministers saints? Certainly not. But the opposition have unleashed untold hardship on Nigerians. I read from the news how power generation dropped to zero for a few hours. I read how the minister of State petroleum told Nigerians that he is not a magician to fix Nigerian oil problems. As we speak, subsidy regime has returned. As we speak the current government have reverted pump price to where we left it.
“Over the years, the Almighty God has made it possible for me to develop a bond with you and I am grateful for your support and understanding in the difficult periods we have journeyed through. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, as I stand here this day being April 1, I declare to you that our stewardship has not been without challenges. We dealt with waves of insurgencies, vandalization of our nation’s pipelines and armed banditry. Let me crave the indulgence of all present here to stand up to observe a minutes silence in honor of fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers who lost their lives in Agatu. The situation in Agatu and elsewhere has cast a dark cloud on our Nation but we will surely win. A number of young men and women have been kidnapped by these criminal elements including our daughters from Enugu and Kanu States.
“During my tenure, we established a Presidential Initiative for the North East, the Victim Support Fund and the Safe School Initiative. These programs built Almajiri schools and opened brand new universities across all regions in this country. I read how the APC led government dissolved the governing board of universities and sacked the vice chancellors. We did what we did to better the lots of less privileged among us. Today, those dreams are but a mirage.
“I am grateful to all Nigerians for standing with me and my ministers despite the persecution we have so far face by the current administration. Let me also thank the leaders and elders of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party, for the opportunity reposed on all PDP governors and House of Assembly members. I am overwhelmed by the trust, confidence and support of the various organs of our party, the Board of Trustees, the National Caucus, the National Executive Committee, the National Working Committee, the PDP Governors Forum, members of the PDP Caucuses of the National Assembly, and others. This trust showed itself in the just concluded Rivers state re-run elections. This day affords me the opportunity to continue the conversation of development we started together. We must develop our country.

Politics / Re: Saraki Absent As Dogara Meets Buhari In Aso Rock by abulbanaat(m): 11:22pm On Apr 26, 2016
Garba Shehu ‏@GarShehu 17m17 minutes ago

Pres. Buhari met with Principal Officers of @NGRSenate & House of Representatives at the State House few hours ago.
Politics / Reuben Abati: The Return Of A Sense by abulbanaat(m): 11:05pm On Apr 23, 2016
The present Senate serving the Nigerian people runs the risk of being remembered as the worst since 1999. Public Relations Consultants and media officials of this particular Senate have done their part flooding both the print and the online media with details of how productive the Bukola Saraki-led Senate has been, and they have been quite aggressive in telling us about 30 important Bills which when passed, will change the face of Nigeria and deliver change.

The Senate according to one report has considered over 125 bills, debated over 48 motions, and passed three bills. But nobody is apparently impressed. During the Jonathan administration, the Senate was the better regarded of the two legislative chambers. While members of the House of Representatives in the Seventh Assembly behaved as if they were a band of students’ unionists, the then Red Chamber projected an image of maturity and temperance, even if it was also self-serving! With the 8th Assembly, the House of Representatives, apart from the shameful resort to physical combat over the distribution of “juicy” committees in November 2015, has shown itself to be better organized than the present Senate. The critical difference is that of leadership. It is one of management. It is a matter of weight and politics.

What is clear is that the leadership recruitment and selection process in the legislative arm of government is as critical as it is in any other sphere of government. During the 7th Assembly, the politics of the emergence of the then Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, a PDP lawmaker who became an agent and later, chieftain of the opposition party, ensured that the House remained almost permanently in a frosty relationship with the Executive. Likewise, the manner of Bukola Saraki’s emergence as Senate President, marked again by alleged disloyalty to his own party and collusion with the opposition for personal gains, has laid the foundation for the supremacy of intrigues, cabals, and the politics of mischief in a Chamber that should be devoted strictly to the making of laws for the good governance of Nigeria.

His colleague in the House of Representatives also emerged under controversial circumstances, but Yakubu Dogara’s politics seems to be better managed. Saraki’s politics is made more complex by the fact that he has strong roots in the two dominant parties in the National Assembly and has proven to be extremely influential across party lines, making him a dominant force in Nigeria’s current power equation, and most certainly, a threat to other power centres.

Online, the Saraki-led Senate claims that it has done a lot, even if it has spent more time being on vacation in less than a year, and obsessed daily with the politics of contradictions. The Senate President once reportedly boasted that the Senate under his watch has helped to block corruption by helping Nigeria to save money. He talked about the Senate’s probe of the Treasury Single Account (TSA). But now, here is the contradiction: Many Nigerians would find it difficult to see how a Senate whose leader is on trial for corruption-related matters, and that has chosen to buy for its members, luxury SUV vehicles at inflated cost can claim to be helping Nigerians at a time when the economy is on a tragic downward spiral, and yet the same Senators had allegedly collected vehicle loans. This has brought the Senate condemnation from both the Nigeria Labour Congress and a coalition of about 400 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

But we know where the problem lies: politicians are always playing games, and the Senate under Bukola Saraki’s watch has acted more than once, as if it is against the people. This Senate has had to reverse itself thrice in the last one month following public outcry about its lack of moral rectitude. The painful reality is that the impression has now been created that the Senate as presently constituted is playing the politics of one man. It has reduced itself to a Saraki-must-stay-and-the-Executive-and-anti-Saraki-APC-leaders-must-bow-Red-Chamber. Most members of the House of Representatives have tactfully stayed away from this abuse of privilege and utter contempt for the original mandate of the National Assembly, but they need to be advised to also stay away from the kind of infectious madness that seems to be seizing hold of the Senate. It is a form of madness that encourages recourse to farce, burlesque and conspicuous acquisition.

Determined to show support for their embattled Senate President who is on trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), and whose name has also been mentioned in the Panama Papers scandal, many of the Senators abandoned the Senate Chambers and started following their boss to the Tribunal. On one occasion as many as close to 50 Senators abandoned their primary assignment and chose to go and play politics at the Tribunal. If this seeming relocation of the Senate to the Code of Conduct Tribunal was meant to intimidate the presiding judge, His Lordship has refused to be intimidated, either by the crowd or the convoy of buses or the retinue of 90 defence lawyers. He has now chosen to attend to the case on a daily basis. The number of Senators doing follow-follow has since reduced: it will of course, be absurd to shut down the entire Senate to embark on sycophantic frolic. Nonetheless, the Saraki case is taking its toll on the Senate. It has placed it on a collision course with a court of competent jurisdiction, with the Executive and also divided the ruling All Progressives Congress.

It has also led to a situation whereby the lawmakers even attempted to change the Code of Conduct Bureau Act in an obvious attempt to frustrate the Saraki trial. In less than 48 hours, the amendment bill went through first and second readings. If there had been no public outcry, the lawmakers would have passed the bill in less than 72 hours. It would have been the fastest piece of legislation ever, and yet it was meant to be self-serving: making a law to sabotage due process, even when they know that a law cannot have retroactive effect. When that failed, our Senators came up with the ingenious idea that the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal must appear before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions. An indignant crowd of civil society agitators also shut that down. The Chairman of the CCT has also been a target of campaigns of calumny. Saraki’s supporters are throwing everything possible into this matter, where the legal process fails, the legislative process is deployed; when that also fails, an internet war, rallies, protests, all designed to win the public mind is launched.

Senate President Bukola Saraki may not have read Robert Greene’s The 48 Laws of Power, for he seems to have broken too many of those laws already; perhaps he has read The Art of War by Sun Tzu. He should have been told that to rush headlong into war without mastering the dynamics of power is costly. This is one bitter political lesson about the strategy of war that Senator Saraki is currently learning. But now that he has gone so deep into the battlefield, he may no longer be allowed to surrender or retreat, even as his troops are gradually fleeing. Saraki has stepped on the proverbial Banana peel; as he struggles for survival, our Senate, the people’s Senate, must not be allowed to fail as a public institution. Senator Saraki should step aside, for now, as Senate President. If he emerges victorious from his travails, his colleagues should do him the honour of reinstating him to that office of honour, without question. But if he loses, he should remember that war only offers two possibilities, and even when a warrior wins, there may still be dangers on the way back home. In all, the politics of Saraki’s trial should not consume the Senate, and indeed the 8th Assembly.

“So far, so good”, Saka Olawale wrote assessing the present Senate. I don’t think so. If anything, this Senate needs to be rescued. Whatever explanations our present set of Senators offers would be difficult to believe given the manner in which they have exposed their own limitations. The Senate cannot even keep documents. Copies of the 2016 Budget vanished from its custody. The copies when eventually found mutated into versions unknown to the Executive arm that presented the same Budget at an open ceremony.

For five months, the Senate is embroiled in a needless controversy over the content of the Budget. What is worse: In almost one year, no Senator can be quoted as having said anything engaging or profound. The only Senator who makes a serious effort to display some common sense is far more active on Twitter than on the floor of the Senate. The more prominent Senators are known for their rabid politicking or their wardrobe or exotic cars or the comedy that they provide. One of them even came up with a bill to gag free speech. It was in this same Senate that some male chauvinists declared that women cannot have any equal rights with men, and so a Gender Equality Bill is unacceptable.

They failed to realize that in the United States, whose Constitutional democracy we are copying, a woman is only a short distance away from emerging as Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party and as 45th President of the United States. I imagine many of them struggling to be photographed with the same woman if they are so privileged. Was it also not in this same Senate that a member argued that Nigerian lawmakers should only patronize Made-in-Nigeria-women? This was meant to be a “brilliant” contribution to a debate on the need to promote Made-in-Nigeria goods. How dumb! And this kindergarten level statement actually generated some debate!

Challenging as the democratic process may have been, Nigerians can still remember a few Senators of old who sat in that same Assembly and made impact with their interventions and insightful speeches. To now have a group of Senators who crack jokes, borrow their imageries from road side bars, embark on a frolic, or spend time on sycophantic exertions, and when called upon, prove annoyingly incapable of analyzing and interrogating policies and making solid contributions is sad. We expect this to change.

EL-ZAKZAKY

Now to Ibrahim El-Zakzaky. He was one of those people captured by the false joy that greeted the un-Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979. He was a student of Ahmadu Bello University [a first-class student as it was said] who for one reason or the other could not complete his university education; some said it was due to student unionism.

It was after the ‘expulsion’ that he and some of his comrades got an invitation to Iran. This writer had met with one of those who eventually went and studied and at the Islamic University Madînah and became a doctor of hadith [Maa Shaa Allâh] quitting Shi’ism for life.

As for Al-Zakzaky, the Shi’ism dose he took in Iran went down all his flesh. He was convinced, albeit with the pecuniary hopes, that Shi’ism (as it has been shown earlier) is the way.

This writer had a needless interview with Al-Zakzaky in year 2000 at his that now destroyed Gyallesu residence, the residence that is not very far from Federal College of Education Zaria, and just some poles away from the Congo Campus of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He was then a part one Social Science student at Ahmadu Bello University undergoing experimental journalism. The encounter was brief because it was just a kind of a-hour interview. Al-Zakzaky spoke impeccable and fluent English. He had the oratory prowess, as demagogues like him have. He had even taunted me in the course of the interview if I would like to go to Iran. Alhamdulillah I was not taken in by his words.

[It is however advised that one should avoid people with oratory control like him because of the evil ideology that they harbour.] After the appointment had been booked in the earlier week, the interview took place in the week that followed. This writer could remember the encounter, though vividly. That was about 15 years ago. I had asked him if he was a Shi’ite. He replied: ‘If loving the household of the Prophet, salaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam, is Shia, I am one.’

Al-Zakzaky lived a posh live, his Gyallesu house then might not be outwardly massive but the inside spoke volumes. A big satellite dish was in the environment while about five cars were covered with tarpaulin. Youths serving as guards could be seen around. In the first visit they had wondered what brought this writer from ABU. They were convinced I came as a spy though I did not hide my feeling and outlook that I resented their methodology.

The youths around Al-Zakzaky could be irrational and uncouth. This writer could also recall the havoc they wreak in Kaduna in the 90’s. He was a witness to some of those happenings. Their 1996 ‘takeover’ of Kaduna Polytechnic at Tundun Wada area is a pointer to the earlier made assertion. They constituted themselves into a hisbah force of a sort. No woman indecently dressed would walk by on the polytechnic campus except they taught her a lesson such as catapult shots from hidden places. They hoisted their Shia flag on the tallest water reservoir while they blast Iranian lectures from the mosque loudspeakers. For the period of a week they took over the campus it was chaos until the security forces came and dislodged them. What followed that were street battled between them and the soldiers in Kaduna. It was brutal. Many of them lost their lives. That was the period of phenomenon of ‘keria ne’ in Kaduna. ‘Keria ne’ which translates to ‘it is a lie’, was the slogan of the Shia anytime they came across any of the security forces. The slogan was meant to taunt the members of the security forces that they were cocoons.

It was that same period the Shia were fomenting troubles on ABU Samaru Campus. When we got in 1999/2000, the stories of the Shia were what we were greeted with. By then, many of them had quitted schooling. Those who had got certificates got them torn. Perhaps, the Boko Haram members take their cue from them. Some have said Muhammad Yusuf of Boko Haram had some tutelage in Shi’ism before he left them and eventually formed his ultra-violent group.

The attitude of the people of the north to Shia has not been favourable to the cause of the Shia. The Shia are generally resented. In Sokoto for instance, woman who wear black abayas (an insignia of the Shia women though it is generally permissible for Muslim women to so adorn themselves) are taken with suspicion. Today, people will not readily shield a Shia member of a Boko Haram member in contrary to the view of some people down south. The Ulamaa of the Sunnah have also been very outspoken against the Shia but the latter have propaganda, one of which are their processions now and then. The religion of the Shia is a religion of procession and demonstration. They like showing off.

If they have their ways, the Shia will slaughter the Muslims before they slaughter the non-Muslims. Their hatred for the other Muslims, who are in the majority, is not hidden.

It is of note that the Shia activities so also the Boko Haram’s and their likes are limited to the Northern part of the country save some mild manifestations in some groups down south. Generally speaking however, the Shia thoughts are anathematic in the South except in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital, where a group named ‘Ummah’ has some traits of theirs. But they have never been audacious. They do hide under a facade of ‘not-Sunni-not-Shia’. But they are Shia, only that that their Taqiyyah is keeping them at bay. May they remain so forever.

One of the ways the exploits of the Shia can be curtailed is by Muslims generally returning to the correct teachings of the religion via the learning of the Qur’aan and Sunnah upon the ways of the Righteous Predecessors. Wherever such teachings strive, you will hardly find the Shia and other heretics there. Heretical groups thrive most in places where ignorance reigns. May Allâh send peace and blessings upon the Noble Prophet, His Ahl Bayt, his Companions and those who follow them in goodness.

AL-MUT’AH

Shia’s Temporary Marriage [Al-Mu’tah] is worthy of a special mention. It has been rightly argued that Al-Mu’tah is one of those magnetising message of the Shia, especially to the youths. It is sheer adultery, nothing more. Some of their academics have brought horrendous reports extolling this sinful practice. They lied against the Prophet, salaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam, that he said: ‘Whoever sexually enjoys a believing woman for a temporarily appointed time is as if he has visited the Ka’bah seventy times.’ They said Ja’far As-Sâdiq said: ‘Mu’tah is from my religion and the religion of my fathers; whoever puts it into action has acted with our religion, whoever rejects it has rejected our religion and accepted another creed apart from our Deen.’

The author of Usool Al-Kaafee say there is no minimum time to engage in it. Also, it is not a condition that the woman must have come of age; it can be done with a toddler.

The author of Lillaah...Thumma Litaareekh, Sayyid Husayn, who was a former Shia scholar who repented and embraced the pure Sunnah, narrated that Al-Khomeini [yes the same Khomeini of the infamous ‘Islamic Revolution of Iran’] used to visit them at their Shia seminary at Najaf in Iraq, and that anytime he called, the students would throng him to take knowledge from him. There was a time he was invited to other part of the country; he said he accompanied him on that journey. He said they stayed in the house of one of the Shia families there. He said on their return from the journey, they had a stop-over in a suburb of Iraq and had to stay overnight in one of the houses of the Shia member there. He said they were greeted with a very fabulous dinner and people came from all places to see the ‘Imâm’ and sought blessings from him by kissing his hands {an act of polytheism]. He said when it was time for sleep, people began to leave. At that, Khomeini saw a very girl, a daughter of their host, around four or five years, who was very beautiful. He said the ‘Imâm’ requested from the father if he would allow him ‘enjoy’ the girl for the night. He said the man accepted with all pleasure. So the little girl was arranged for the ‘Imâm’ to enjoy for the night. The girl’s cries, sobs and screaming rented the night all through.

In the following morning he said when they sat at the table for breakfast Khomeini could read from his face that he was unhappy with what he did. He said he asked him: ‘O Sayyid Husayn, what is your view regarding Mu’tah with toddlers?’ he said he said: ‘O Master, it is your view that will be taken. Whatever you do is most correct. You are the Imâm the Mujtahid...’ He said: ‘O Sayyid Husayn, it is permissible to enjoy them but it should be play alone, kissing and placing the genital between her thighs, as for the actual sexual act, no, because she may not be able to take it.’ See the story in p.34-35 of the book.

The author said it is the view of Al-Khomeini that a baby girl being breast-fed can be sexually played with as Mu’tah. Al-Khomeini wrote in Tahreer Al-Waseelah [vol.2 p.241 no.12]: ‘There is nothing wrong with sexually paying with a baby that still sucks breast, when you hold her close and place your genital between her thighs...’.

May Allâh despise the Shia once again.

In their hypocrisy, they allow Mut’ah with the daughters of the common Shia but not with the daughters of the ‘scholars.’

It should be noted that the practice was allowed at a particular time in the general Islamic history before it was prohibited. And it was in this picture: when warriors go for long battles while leaving their wives at home, that they could enter into legal but temporary marriages with the conquered women at where they are having the battle. The Prophet, salaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam, allowed it for the Muslim warriors as an option rather than a request from some of them that they should castrate themselves. The act was stopped the same day it was prohibited to consume the meat of domesticated donkeys.

The followers of ‘Abdullâh bn Saba [the Saba’iyyah] are the promoters of the latter thought. This ‘Abdullâh bn Saba was a Jew who claimed to have embraced Islâm. He only came into Islam to wreak havoc therein; historically he was the founder of the Shi’i thoughts. It was from him other teachings of Shia evolved.

Ibn Saba’ and his followers said it to the face of ‘Alee that he is Allâh! ‘Alee, being a righteous slave of Allâh, did not take it lightly with them, he burnt many of them while others escaped. Among the escapees was this devilish Ibn Saba’. They believe every time there is thunder, that is ‘Alee roaring; the lightning is his smile! That ‘Alee will soon come back (as Nabee Eesa shall come) to fill the earth with justice after it has been filled with injustice. They believe the succeeding Imams share in some divinity possessed by ‘Alee.

Interestingly, some of the ideologues of the Shia have striven to deny the existence of this Ibn Saba’. They thought if they accept his existence then the foundation of their thought will become shaky. Alas, Allâh has exposed them.

Some of them have inadvertently confirmed his personality in many of their academic works. One of their authors, Ibn Abî Al-Hadeed said in Shar’h Nahj Al-Balaagah [vol.5 p.5 as quoted in ‘Lillaah...thumma Li-Târikh p.13] that: ‘Abdullâh bn Saba’ stood up to ‘Alee while the latter was delivering a Khutbah and said: ‘You are, you are!’ He repeated it severally. ‘Alee then said: ‘Woe betide you, who am I? He then commanded that he should be arrested alongside those with him upon his thought.’

The leading sect of the Shia today is Al-Imaamiyyah. This sect can be found in the so-called Islamic Republic of Iran. It is worthy of note that the ideological and philosophical base of the Shia today is Najaf in Iraq where they claim the grave of ‘Alee bn Abî Tâlib is situated. That is it, the Shia are grave worshippers; they throng the mausoleums of their leaders than they come to mosques. Iran is just the political headquarters.

Iran serves as the promoters of the Shi’i thoughts no matter how blasphemous. That is why you will see them supporting the Huthis of Yemen (who are majorly of Zaydi inclinations) and Bashaar Asad Family of Syria (who are of the Nusayree Enclave – those who say ‘Alee is Allâh, and who have reduced the Islamic teachings to nothing). Iran used the un-Islamic revolution to beguile many of the Muslim youths. We are coming to this later Inshâ Allâh.

The Shia have always been very treacherous. They celebrate falsehood upon a justification of a warped belief of Taqiyyah [pretention]. If a Shiite is cornered where he knows he cannot have his way [not necessarily when his life is threatened], he will deny being a Shi'ite. Treachery is their emblem. No wonder their forefathers in Kûfah deceived al-Husayn after twenty thousand of them had made oath of allegiance to him that they would defend him. The author of ‘A’yaan Ah-Shia wrote about the phenomenon of the Karbala which they do shamelessly celebrate today that: ‘they tricked him and rebelled against him while their oath of allegiance was upon their necks; they killed him.’ See Part One p.34 of the book.

Al-Hasan said when he was to abdicate to Mu’aawiyyah bn Abî Sufyân in an occurrence the Prophet, salaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam, had foretold would serve as a unifying factor among the Muslims; he said: ‘By Allâh I see Mu’aawiyyah as being better than these people who say they belong to me. They only want to kill me and take my wealth. That I accept from Mu’aawiyyah what with which I will ensure my safety and that of my family is better than these people should kill me and make my family suffer...’ See Al-Ihtijaaj vol.2 p.10.

‘Alee bn Al-Husayn [Zaynul’Aabidîn] even made jest of them especially with respect to their 10th day of Muharram celebration of fake cries and agonies: ‘The people cry over us; who have killed us if not they?’ See Al-Ihtijaaj vol.2 p.29.

[Please take note that many of these Imams these Shia have heaped lies of infallibility and divinity about are figures well respected in the Ahlus-Sunnah Circles because they are believers from among the Household of the Prophet, loving and respecting them is a religious requirement. You should also know that, none of these Imams has ever supported these people in their evil exploits.]

[Know also that Khomeini, Khamanei et al, are not from the Household of the Prophet, salaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam, they are rather Dajjaals (Big Liars of this century) promoting the old lies and rancour].

The Shia in their treachery have only pretentiously singled out ‘Alee and his progeny as the Ahlul-Bayt. As for the other branches of the Ahlul-Bayt such as Al-‘Abbâs, his son, Abdullâh, and another son of his, ‘Ubaydullaah and ‘Aqeel, a brother of ‘Alee bn Abî Tâlib, they were not safe from their invectives and curses. Were they not aware that Ibn ‘Abbâs was strongly behind ‘Alee in the civil wars?

You will never hear them speak good of Ja’far bn Abee Tâlib, a direct brother of ‘Alee. May Allâh be pleased with both.

BELIEF OF THE SHIA

According to Ash-Shihrstaanee in Al-Milal wa An-Nihal, the Shia are the people who have the belief that the right to the Islamic Caliphate is limited to the noble Companion of the Prophet, ‘Alee bn Abî Tâlib, may Allâh be pleased with him, and his progeny. They claim that Aboo Bakr As-Siddîq, Umar bn Al-Khattâb and Uthmân bn Affân became Khalîfah (Caliph) before him was stealing from the latter and an act of transgression against the command of the Noblest of Mankind Muhammad, SalaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam. All the claims of the Shia are based on lies.

Some of them view Aisha, the dear wife of the Prophet, salaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam, as worse than a dog. They send curses upon her and her father, Aboo Bakr, after prayers instead of saying the usual invocations that often come after Prayers.

They do depict a picture of chaotic living among the Companions forgetting that ‘Alee bn Abî Tâlib later allowed ‘Umar bn Al-Khattâb to marry a daughter of his, Umm Kulthûm. Al-Kulaynee, their author of Usool Al-Kaafee (which they give the same regard we the people of Sunnah give Sahîh Al-Bukhârî though it is not worth the weakest anthology of ours), wrote a lie that one of their Imams said: ‘The genital was wrongly taken from us.’ Vol.2 p.141

Apart from their belief that the right to Khilaafah (Caliphacy) rests on ‘Alee and his progeny, they also believe that their leaders [Imams] are infallible; that they cannot commit errors, big or small.

They believe, such as their Kaysaaniyyah sub-sect, that the religion of Islam is obedience to man. This has made them give esoteric meanings to Islamic teachings such as the Pillars of the Deen viz. Prayer, Fasting, Zakâh and Hajj. They have weak belief in the resurrection such as some of them say there is re-incarnation; that the soul will transform into something else after death. This most often applies to their Imams upon whom their endless and stupid arguments and disagreements, such as who is really the Expected Imam, lie.

So stupid are their disagreements that they retroactively differed as to who was entitled to the Khilaafah after ‘Alee bn Abî Tâlib; some said it was Muhammad bn Al-Hanafiyyah (another son of ‘Alee from another wife apart from Fâtimah] others said it was Al-Hasan then Al-Husayn. Such was their stupidity.

Do you know that some of them believed that Muhammad bn Al-Hanafiyyah did not actually die, that he only disappeared and hid in Rad’wa Mountain being sustained by a pond of water and honey and being guarded by a lion on the right and a tiger on the left until the time he shall reappear. To those people, that is the Expected Imâm – their Mahdee.

As if they relish their Imams being described as cowards, the Muhammadiyyah sub-sect of theirs believe that Muhammad bn ‘Abdillâh bn Al-Hasan bn Al-Hasan bn ‘Alee bn Abî Tâlib did not die rather he is hiding in Mountain Haajar and will soon come out! These people are very sure this Muhammad is the Expected Mahdee because his name is Muhammad bn Abdillâh, the same a the name of the Noble Prophet, Muhammad bn Abdillâh, salaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam, as it has come in the authentic narration.

Their Mukhtaariyyah sub-sect has the belief of Al-Badaa with respect to Allâh, may He be extolled from their blasphemy. The belief is that, certain things occur in the world not known to Allâh that they would occur. They often cite that to justify their claim that Allâh did praise the Companions of the Prophet in many places of the Qur’aan [which they actually believe has been altered by the Companions and that the original Mushaf was with Fâtimah before it was transferred to her sons] when He did not know what would later become of them.

To them, the eventual ‘unbelief’ of the Companions, for not enthroning ‘Alee as the Khalîfah, was not known to Allâh, that was why He did praise them then. May Allâh despise the Shia. The belief of the Shia, except the Zaydiyyah among them, is that all the Companions, save a few [Al-Miqdad Al-Aswad, ‘Ammaar bn Yaasir, Salman Al-Faarisee, of course, ‘Alee and his two sons], apostatised after the death of the Prophet, SalaLlâhu alayhi wa sallam.

To some of them, such as their Bayaaniyyah, Nusayriyyah and Saba’iyyah sub-sects, ‘Alee bn Abî Tâlib is Allâh! Some of them say, he has some qualities of divinity while some say he is all divine.

The Shia, el-Zakzaky and the North

INTRODUCTION

Events of the past week in Nigeria have brought some attention to a group ascribing itself to Islâm, a group with horrific historical and ideological background in Islam. That is the Shia. One of the numerous sects with Islamic claims.

The intent of this write-up is not to add to the already frenzied atmosphere between the Shia and the authorities but to educate, as usual, those Muslims, and the general public, that might have got swerved by the seeming political calculations of the Shia in the unfolding milieu.

Without mincing words, the Shia are a set of treacherous people as will be shown later in this work. They have been a thong in the flesh of the Muslims right from the heydays of Islam.

Quote me in weeks to come, he's going to be the best minister, ALLAAH willing, then you would think less of what his wife wears.
