If you recognize yourself in any of this, I suggest you run like hell. Now. 1. There’s more fire and less stability Love — real love — is about commitment and communication. These two important components lead to stability within a relationship. Of course, fire can be part of the equation, but when there’s lots of drama, chaos and more emotional gut blows than butterflies, you’re looking at a lustful situation. 2. You focus more on the outside than inside I could stare at C for hours. I was so enamored with his beauty. To me, he was gorgeous from head to toe without a single flaw to be found. I was obsessed with his beauty, and relished in the fact that I got to be seen in public with him and got to “tap that” at the end of the night. 3. You prefer the fantasy From the beginning, I knew C and I didn’t have a future. We were far too similar to have been able to conduct a grown-up relationship, and he was never going to want me the way I wanted him. With him, I acted younger than I was for far longer than I should have — the drinking, acting out, immaturity and irresponsibility were quadrupled when we were together. I didn’t want a “grown-up” life with him; I loved the days on end of debauchery that allowed me to escape from reality. 4. Why aren’t we having sex right now? Although I loved talking to C, because we did have so much in common, whenever we were together just hanging around or watching a movie, I’d always catch myself wondering, “Why aren’t we having sex right now?” I’m serious. I couldn’t give a damn about the ending to whatever movie was on, if it meant we were having sex instead. So you are thinking of starting your own business? I believe this article could be of help to some of us who are really looking forward to starting our own Businesses. I would share some nuggets that might help inspire us to start taking one step at a time to get to where we desire our Businesses to be. 1.) One of the most important things you need to do is to find people who believe in the same things that you believe in. What I mean by this, is to simply surround ‘you’ with People or Friends who feel the same way about starting a business. Now, if your main challenge is getting funds or being able to fund your desired business to spring up, then collaborating with one of your friends or some of them (that you have built awesome trust levels with over the years-‘highly recommended’), is a great way to proceed. 2.) Another important quality that you need to consider about yourself is asking ‘you’ a very honest question which is “Do I really have great Leadership Qualities?’ Be honest with yourself because this is a very critical quality that is needed every step of the way in building your business. 3.) I would also like to mention another awesome quality that has helped me when I started. This in itself is an awesome quality that has helped me save a lot of money and reduced my costs drastically. The Power of ‘Research’. I love research. Infact, I am a Natural researcher. I could simply find anything, anywhere in a matter of minutes. I just know how to find them. I could go on and on to expose some really cool ways to find solutions to daily business operations that could help you reduce your business startup costs. I will definitely blog about this and address this in a latter issue. Read More here http://www.olufe.com/blog/how-do-i-start-my-own-business-with-the-little-i-have/

Kara Ufuoma, 25, graduated with a first class from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Benin, Edo State, having had a 4.59 CGPA. Its enough work graduating with a First Class, but graduating with a 4.59 GPA is just incredible. Kara Ufuoma, 25, graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Benin, Edo State, having had a 4.59 GPA, Punch reports. He spoke in an interview about how he managed to pull off the achievement. Question 1: What did you do differently to have a first class? To do well in school, one needs to devote time to study. In my case, I ensured I was punctual in attending lectures and I studied several textbooks to help consolidate my understanding of the courses. I surrounded myself mostly with people who took their academics seriously. I was also constantly motivating myself whenever I was overwhelmed by the rigours of schoolwork. There is really no scale to measure how easy or difficult it is to have a first class, but I can emphatically say that it requires hard work, discipline, focus and a desire to be excellent. Initially, it was just a wish, but with time, the desire grew and I found out it wasn’t an impossible task. There were stories about how difficult it could be to get a first class and how students who merited it had been victimised by sadistic lecturers, but that didn’t affect my resolve, rather, it galvanised me to work harder. However, I wouldn’t rule out God’s grace because I know God has been gracious to me. I sat patiently awaiting my turn to face the Consular, Alas! It was the Chinese American Woman whose Cubicle was Empty, Mhmmm and I have read about her on this thread, Well, I stood up and approached her cubicle, Consular: Good Morning Me: Good Morning Consular: Have you ever been to the USA? Me: No Consular: What are you going to do? Me: To Study for my Doctoral Degree in Chemical Engineering Consular: How many Schools did U Apply and How many Rejects? Me: I applied to 2 Schools. Colorado State University and the URI, well the Colorado State University advised that they do not have the required faculty to supervise me, and they are still looking for a suitable match for my Research proposal. But I got accepted to URI. Consular:Whats ur Research Proposal About? Me: Well I will be Specializing in Safety Health and Environmental Issues on Oil and Gas Offshore and Onshore Facilites, ( I stopped talking) Consular: Do U have a Masters Degree? Me: Yes I do. An MSc Petroleum Technology from the UK. Consular: When did you graduate? Me: Oct 2008 Consular: Whats your present job? Me: Am a Process Engineer Consular: So who is Sponsoring you? Me: My Father, (She asked what he does and alll that, ) I told Him he is a University Professor, Consular: Are you the only Child? Any Siblings? Because the Tutiton Fee on your I-20 is too much, Do u think your father can Support you all through? Me: I answered YES HE CAN ! Consular: Are you Sure? Me: YES I am sure Consular: Can I see his statement? Me: I gave her , ( Now She flipped through in about 15 seconds and she gave it back to me) Consular: Started Typing for about 50 seconds after which she gave me the green ticket to go pick up my Visa. and she said GOODLUCK on your Studies. It was a long Interview, Wish you Guys the Best of God !!! |
@ Nethacker, thanks |
I just want to say a big Thank you to everyone on this thread, I been peeping on this thread for some months now, I got my Visa @ the US Consulate in Lagos yesterday, I am actually going for a PhD with a major in Chemical Engineering. Thanks so much for all the useful information. |
Thanks man. Ill contact the schl now to send me an exemption letter if that would be possible. . .im using my dad as sponsor so does me working matter or my present income? plus me saying no to intending to work would that affect me in any way cos i would actually like to work. Help me out Hey Man, Nice to KNow u going to contact the school, Good Luck on that. The Consular does not want to hear that you intend to work in Most cases, and You are supposed to have all ypur finances sorted before you leave Naija, Mhmm, Dont go there and say U wanna go work ooo, U are a Student and all you going to do is Study, When you get there things will fall in lace, that does not mean you cant work, I think in some cases you will have to finish the first year before you can work outside the school, not Sure about that, but you will definitely find a job in ur School, BTW dont put ur mind on it, Be Prepared for the Worst case scenario, ALl said what you need right now is the VIsa so focus on that, No Intent to work, Simple as ABC. Telling the Consular you have a Job will simply boost you Chances, that Implies, you are comfortable here and since your Dad is doing the sponsoring then You are good to go, You have no problem, O boy Just be Confident, pray and God will do the Impossible, Am tired ooo, Good Luck Man !!! ![]() |
