FoodRe: Recipe: How To Prepare Obe 'ila Alasepo'; Okra Soup by aby1976(m): 7:04pm On Apr 07, 2017

Ila is the favorite Yoruba expression for Okra, and Asepo, this means 'Cooking together'. Ila alasepo formula allows you to cook blended okra soup. In keeping prep of ila alasepo, it is almost always dished up with stew.

The truth is that the certain element, which normally switches into the stew, however now it switches into our soup and helps it be a 'less' soup for the favorite Yoruba folk food. Ila alasepo is also known as 'something you make when you yourself have no money'.

The important factor of cooking a great okro soup is its level of viscosity (meaning how much it draws), that’s the reason why you add akaun.

Among other Nigerian dishes, the nutrition scale of ila alasepo is very rich.

Okra is very rich in protein, Fibre, Folate, Vitamins k/c, and also Magnesium. You can turn this soup into an extremely rich soup by using a huge variety of proteins.

Ingredients required:
*. 2 cubs of Precooked meat
*. 1 piece of red bell pepper
*. 2 pieces of Smoked fish
*. 2 cups of chopped okro
*. 1 cup of Fresh or dried prawns
*. 3 cups of water or beef stock
*. ½ teaspoon of Baking soda or cooking potash (Kaun)
*. 1 cube of maggi (2 cubes if you use water)
*. 1 teaspoon of good pepper powder
*. 3 tablespoon of blended crayfish
*. ¼ cup of palm oil
*. Salt according to your taste

Directions for cooking:
1. Put a pot on the medium heat, then pour in your meat stock (or water) and cover it. Then bring it to a boil.

2. Add your cooking potash if you use it. You should reduce heat to the medium level at this moment. Then put prepared crayfish powder, meat, maggi palm oil, fish, prawns, and also pepper into the pot. Mix. Leave it to simmer for about 10-15 minutes

3. Stir, taste it and add some salt and pepper if it’s necessary.

4. Add some chopped okra and also minced tatashe. Then stir everything well. Taste it and add some salt and pepper if it’s necessary. Simmer the mix for more 3-5 minutes.

5. Note: If you use baking soda, add it in 2 minutes before your preparation ends.

6. You can serve it with fufu, garri, Semolina or pounded yam.

7. Now you know how to prepare ila alasepo.

Enjoy your meal!

Christianity EtcRe: Chris Okafor Blasts Bakare, Mbaka, Demands Nnamdi Kanu's Release by aby1976(m): 4:25pm On Feb 27, 2017
JamieNaija:
Dr. Chris Okafor, the General overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, a.k.a Liberation City has truly caused a profound upset to both the political and religious establishment in Nigeria by his fiery admonitions during Sunday service at his church.

The Oracle of God, as he’s fondly called literally went nuclear when he angrily chastised the church leadership in Nigeria and wondered why they are so quiet in the face of mounting confusion, recession, destruction, oppression and killing of Christians in most parts of the country.

The fiery preacher accused most of the leading pastors who should be speaking out against injustice and bad governance of taking bribes like money and oil wells from the government hence their inability to defend Christianity and the masses

In a video that is now going viral on the Internet, Dr. Chris Okafor called out some big men of God when he angrily yelled, “SHAME UNTO PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE!” Then he preceded, “FATHER MBAKA, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU?”

According to the man of God, Pastor Tunde Bakare was one of those who led the Save Nigeria (SNG) group to occupy Lagos while protesting so called bad governance under former president Jonathan, and was also a very vocal critic of that government. He wondered why Pastor Bakare has gone so silent even when it’s obvious that Nigeria now has a government that is far worse than the one he protested against. Speaking further on pastor Tunde Bakare, the man of God thundered, “That Pastor is a two-faced Pastor!”

On Father Ejike Mbaka, the man of God accused him of disqualifying former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration probably because, as alleged, he requested certain favors from that Government but was turned down. The man of God wondered why Father Mbaka who openly told the world that President Buhari was the messiah has now gone so silent, and is shamefully unable to even criticize his regime in the face of gross misconduct and bad governance.

Blowing hot, he said “Mbaka, go and examine your prophetic ministry”. He said that for Father Mbaka to now complain that people are dying of hunger and still find it difficult to criticize the government of the day simply makes him a hypocrite. He then went on to ask, “What has happened to you, Father Mbaka?”

The man of God did not spare the General Overseers of The Redeemed Christian Church of God when he made a veiled reference to the Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor who was killed during a morning cry session on the outskirts of Abuja and how the church played it down. At this he also wondered why the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who is a pastor, has done so little to help. He also wondered why the General Overseer of Deeper Life Church has been quiet even when members of his church have taken a lot of hit from the massacre of Christians that has been ongoing.

Finally, the man of God also referenced the killing of one Imo State born Christian woman who was a few months ago beheaded in the Northern part of Nigeria. He then said “we also need to know if Rochas Okorocha is a Christian or a Muslim, because those people killed are from Imo State and he did nothing”.

The man of God said that if Christian leaders were speaking out and doing what they were supposed to be doing, we wouldn’t have a country where the rule of law means nothing and the government doesn’t even respect court orders. According to him “ why should Nnadi Kanu still be in detention when the court has given orders for his release? Why can’t they obey the court orders first, and then follow due process? Also, we know Dasuki may have done some things but if the court said you should release him, then release him, and let him have his time in court!”

He then went on to say that “as a matter of fact, the Government should release Kanu with immediate effect! We must obey the court and stop taking laws into our own hands!”

Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, on Monday said he will be partaking in the upcoming nationwide protest led by Innocent ‘Tuface’ Idibia.

In a post on his Twitter handle shortly after 10:00 p.m., Mr. Fayose said the organisers have his full backing to launch the protest which they said will be “massive”.
“To organisers of Feb. 5 “Enough is Enough” National Protest, you have my total support and I will be part of the protest,” the governor said.
Mr. Fayose is the latest public figure to queue behind the organisers of the demonstration, which is expected to hold simultaneously in different cities across the country.
Mr. Idibia, while announcing the protest last week, said the Buhari administration’s rudderlessness has left too many Nigerians languishing in poverty with little to be hopeful for about the future.
The police said they have been duly informed about the protest and will provide security for all participants, although the government called for patience and understanding amongst Nigerians.

We Are Ready For Another Primary – Sylva’s Camp

After days of in-fighting and media war between the former governor of Bayelsa state, Timipre Sylva and Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state over the September 22 botched primary of the All Progressives Congress, Sylva has finally accepted the verdict of the National Working Committee of his party.

Timipre Sylva And John Oyegun

The party’s NWC on September 28 had told Sylva to go to court if he was not satisfied with the decision of the party to cancel the primary that was reportedly marred with irregularities. The botched primary which produced Sylva as the winner was later declared inconclusive by the APC.

According to The Punch, the Timipre Sylva campaign organisation said that although the invalidation of the primary was very unfortunate it will abide by the party’s decision. This is a departure from the earlier stance of the APC in the state as it reportedly said Sylva won the election with a landslide.

Sylva’s camp had also boasted that if the primary were to be held multiple times the former governor would win.

According to a statement by Doifie Buokoribo, on Tuesday, September 29, the camp described Sylva as a loyal party man who will respect the decision of the party.

The Sylva campaign team statement read in part: “The cancellation of the September 22 primary, where Chief Timipre Sylva was overwhelmingly voted by the APC family in our state to be the governorship candidate at the December 5 governorship election, is unfortunate.

“But as loyal and faithful party folks, we have the serenity to accept the decision in the larger interest of our great party. We urge our teeming supporters to remain peaceful and unruffled, rest assured that all is well.

READ ALSO: Why PDP Will Win In Kogi, Bayelsa – BoT Secretary Jibrin

“Ultimately, our victory is sure. Our hope cannot be annulled. Our mission to rescue Bayelsa State from the grip of maladministration and underdevelopment is a task that must be accomplished.”

Sources had disclosed fears of a new twist in the in-fighting in the state’s APC: that the former governor might be heading to court to stop the new primary. However, he was said to have been stopped by some of the party’s bigwigs who advised him not to take a step that could spell doom to the party in the state.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Seriake Dickson of the PDP had alleged that the aspirants of the APC in the state are gathering an army of militants and cultists in preparation for the governorship election scheduled for December 5.

The governor said that the opposition party in the state does not have the political structure to win in a free and fair election.

stronger:
DO THEY HAVE PVCs??!!!

This question has been recycled so many times and I am surprised when it comes from people who should know better. Let me try and explain;

(1) Yes, in fact they may have PVCs. I know a few people who came home to register and are coming this week to get their PVCs. Expand your network and get to know more people.

(2) Even if they don't have PVCs, they are stakeholders in the Nigerian project. The diaspora community sends back billions of dollars home EVERY YEAR! That translates to a higher GDP that strengthens the economy. You therefore can NOT neglect them. You must have a onverstaion with them on why they should trust the GMB govt. Why they should consider moving back etc! Think

(3) Do you even realise the population of Nigerians in Diaspora? Do you know how much influence they may have on their people back home? I know a woman who is a leader of her constituency and stays in Baltimore She is highly respected by THOUSANDS! She is in the US because she is sad about the state of things in Nigeria. If she sees reason with a GMB govt, she can single-handedly influence THOUSANDS OF VOTES!! can give you her name if you want! She doesn't have a PVC o. But she is worth thousands of votes!!

(4) Lastly, THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY!! During the American election 3-day debate, A WHOLE DAY was dedicated to FOREIGN POLICY!! Do you think US does not have enough domestic issues? of course Nigeria is not as powerful as the US and can't have a say in a lot of foreign policy discussions but the International community needs to have CONFIDENCE in the govt. That's the only way they will invest (and thus bring employment etc). So the CHATHAM HOUSE SPEECH for example was directed at mostly the intl community.

Please let's try to do some basic reasoning and not follow the crowd to yell same things over again!!

Cheers
U just saved me energy to type with as u ve spoken my mind. God bles u and ur household braind man
