PoliticsRe: Gov. Daniels Cook Caught With 400 Million Naira by Abz: 3:27pm On Jun 01, 2009
this whole story leaves too many holes and questions; or maybe I'm getting the wrong end of the stick, if the cook can steal that amount of money, doesn't that raise a lot of question on the governor's credibility as in where is the governor getting such loads of money from (unless he has his own profitable business and the cook is stealing from such enterprise) huh undecided
PoliticsRe: Pdp Alleges Anti-yar’adua Meeting With Obama In Ghana by Abz: 3:14pm On Jun 01, 2009
why are we surprised that the old fools that make up PDP would react in such manner, I don't know why we still let them hang around and make policy and decisions for us, something needs to be done; as for me I'm thinking of a plan, in regards to Obama, why are we hanged up on him as well, he hasn't really yet made history, would you be proud of him after his term, things haven't changed in the US and the world. If I were the president of Nigeria, I will keep my distance from him and focus on my country, I guess our president isn't that smart.
PoliticsRe: Nairaland Is Destroying Nigeria Or Making Nigeria Better! by Abz: 2:36pm On Jun 01, 2009
it is nice for once to have a forum where people can freely express their opinions without the fear that the soldiers will knock down your door and drag you away, a society can't enlighten itself, if it doesn't encourage freedom of speech.
PoliticsRe: Making Life Difficult For The Lawless Cabals Ruling Nigeria - No Violence Please by Abz: 2:34pm On May 22, 2009
making an example of the ruling old idiots will be part of the process, but Kobojunkie has a valid point. if we can't stand together, whatever we build someone else out of greed will bring it down, I believe the time is near, when what used to divide us, isn't paramount anymore, the social prejudices that dulled our past as well as our politics. But as long as we have those old fools still clinging to the dull reasoning of the past, hope fades away in the future, it is time that the young professional masses i.e. (25-35) come together and do something, we have to fight for a change, we should not expect someone else to do it, coming together is the only way

Not if they know you're telling on them, letting the corrupt party know you're on to them defeats the whole effort, and the reward doesn't need to be a title, something others will be wandering how the hell did you get that, maybe money, everyone like to be rewarded for doing something good.

It's just to blame the ruling party, but to find solution to Nigeria's problem go beyond that, Nigeria’s problems are Nigerians, a collective of ethnicities that refuse to stand together, how can it work?, as long as we are what we are, when trust and honesty are not embraced, how do we expect our leaders to do it, they will only look after their own, because of the simple thought that you will do the same if you were in their shoes…maybe with time things might get better, we have all we need to be the greatest country in the world, only if we are all united, Well, to make life difficult for the lawless cabals, all we need is an independent investigative body ready to carry out an extensive investigation on any suggested body who is/had embezzled the nation's wealth, and a judiciary system to prosecute, harshly…a handsome reward should be promised to anyone who is able to whistle blow on his corrupt neighbour…any slight indication of corruption should warrant an investigation…this is the way to break a gang of thieves.
RomanceRe: How To End An Affair? (I'm Married) by Abz: 1:07pm On May 20, 2009
at least you're not considering divorce or bringing a second woman home, a happily married man with a loving wife doesn't think of having affair; and when the temptations come, he will always find a way out. I guess you're really repenting because of your kids. Blame your wife my friend, and look after the kids, they are the most important. Because of your deed, doesn't mean you can't be a loving and supportive father, but if your wife is a loving, supportive, good mother, trustwothy woman, then you really screwed up.
PoliticsRe: I May Give Up On Nigeria Soon by Abz: 4:21pm On May 19, 2009
No Nigerian has that luxury on giving up, what messages or examples are we giving to the generations coming behind, when the time is hot and heavy, pick your bag and run. If you’re any such individual, then you're no brother of mine. Nigeria has issues, to say that is a well underlined understatement, coming from the ages when literacy was minimum, to what we have now, I say a better time is coming. In my opinion, what will be great is to have a brave president that will be able to hold all those responsible for thieving and embezzling the nation's wealth, get a judiciary system in place to persecute them, and if found guilty; 30 years in imprisonment and all assets owned by the government. If the assets or wealth are offshore, as long as the investigative system has enough information, it should seek to reclaim the assets/wealth back…I know it’s easier said than done. (but any slight indication that a person might have embezzled government money is enough to warrant investigation on the person’s asset and seek prosecution), a secret award should be promised on who whistle blow on his/her neighbour, nice…bloodshed isn’t the way of the future.
TravelRe: What's Up With Ghana And Nigeria? by Abz: 2:52pm On May 19, 2009
Once having a Ghanaian friend, I think I can answer this, when is it ever that when Nigerian guys gather together, their conversations, interests, prejudices, jokes are about Ghana or Ghanaians (apart from the football), but in reverse, the Ghanaians conversations are all about Nigerians with crass envy.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Obama Visiting Ghana Before Nigeria? by Abz: 12:58pm On May 19, 2009
Maybe his visit is due to the fact that Ghana is the first independent country in W.Africa, or maybe Nigeria reminds him of the US Republican party, enough comparing Ghana to Nigeria, there is no much difference between the two, economically (GDP) Nigeria is stronger in the international viewpoint, Ghana doesn't even come close. There is a lot of improvement that could be made to Nigeria, such as our reliance on the oil sector, we should consider other sectors, by doing this will boost our economy further, Our problem are the old ones that can't see past the colonial blindfold, holding and influencing power and wealth within the country, I don’t think having an educated sound reasoning mind as being a criteria in selecting the country’s president or other important political role (influence and wealth are the criteria)…so how do we expect things to change for the better…well just like the US, our time will come.
