your phone will enter bootloop because

1. the phone is chinese version that comes with locked/unlocked bootloader with chinese rom and later changed to global rom with the current android version. ota update directly to diffrent android version will result to bootloop

2. Updating the globa rom to pie(ugrading from android version 'oreo' to another 'pie 'with different rom version that comes with phone) through ota will allow the bootloader to lock again and this will result to bootloop


Advice

download full pie rom and flash through miflash tool and make sure u dont allow bootloader lock during flashing..

Theory 1 and 2 are both wrong boss, only unofficially unlocked redmi note 5 devices got bricked and they were few actually, a lot of people upgraded without issues, the last advice is true though, best bet is to go the miflash route

Same way some ppl think say so long na smart tv, e dey better than non smart in terms of display, some think say curved TVs dey better than flat panels, some think say bigger tvs always dey better than smaller ones, some just buy any Hp laptop, naim b d best, or Benz dey better than Toyota ( even Benz 200 better pass Toyota camry 2017), the list goes on.

As for super lcd, amoled still has deeper blacks, but yes i that's a nice tech from HTC,
Oled has 120hz 4k display also.
I understand that higher refresh rates is a nice thing. And on further research, seems like I asked earlier, higher refresh rates is a thing of the display technology employed. Seems more viable on lcd dan oled.
But pls ehn, oled currently is the best for mobile display, let's not mince words about that abeg.
Outside Mobile display, the playing field is different but for mobile display... Omo na oled, amoled over ips lcd.

there are few mainstream 4k 120hz oled to start with(except those demoed in ces which aren't consumer ready yet). SImple google search for apple pro display will give you more info about it. No one is arguing that Amoled isn't good for phones, i even explained the reason in my previous post, the problem is with the way people just assume Amoled is always better than ips lcd every damn time, which is not always the case

People have even forgotten the Nokia Lumia LCD panels. Those displays were great. Don't know why HMD are not using the tech except if they sold the patent to Microsoft

check out Apple Pro display, It's possible bro. LCD has the potential just that Amoled is the way to go for smartphones as it can be thinner, flexible, which is what phone manufacturers prefer these days, don't forget battery advantage of dark mode too. HTC did this with SUPER LCD brand in there flagship phones then, which was very good, had lots of positive reviews, it was virtually like AMOLED for black and saturated also. It's not a new thing, a technology being generally accepted across board doesn't necessarily mean it's the best, the point is lcd is good, Amoled too is also good both have their drawbacks, let's not be confused and say Amoled is always the best, as for refresh rates AMOLED has up to 90hz or 90fps recently, 120hz, 144hz has being a thing for lcd for a while now, the smoothness of an higher refresh rate is something that cannot be explained. I've used a 144hz display on a gaming system before , even web scrolling is crazy smooth. I think I've been able to pin point strength and weakness of both displays now, at least to an extent

lol, you get time abeg, as long as it's samsung AMOLED that's all that matters he doesn't know you can tweak lcd to be close or better than OLED in terms of everything, Apple did it with their pro display, neither does he know that the fastest refresh rates out there is LCD, both tech has advantages and disadvantages but they wouldn't find out, they just believe AMOLED is the brightest

people and misleading Brand Name for quality, Samsung make different super AMOLED, the ones they use in midrange devices is what they sell to competitors.

Samsung's S10 AMOLED is total different from the ones on S9, not to talk of A30,

I have compared Both A30, and Note 7, and I still don't believe the A30 has AMOLED, they only tweak it to look oversaturated.

I thought as much with the A20 also, the blacks weren't totally off as it should be on AMOLED, but once people see AMOLED even if its 480p they believe its the greatest screen out there
