yea. You need system, an unlocked bootloader too and xiaomi mi unlock tools (if u don't have fastboot installed, you can flash the recovery with the fastboot that comes with it), . Contact on signature if u need more help.

Have u heard of kali linux? I can help you remove the password without formatting self. Contact on signature if interested

tutorial for unlocking is on jboixxx compilation. After unlocking the bootloader, u need access to s system to flash twrp or redwolf recovery. Download magisk and flash thru the recovery of choice. Voila, u have root access.

Xiaomi phones when compared to phones with the same sensors used in xiaomi, tends to be subpar to an extent. You can't rely on the performance of ur sensor alone, things like image processing and camera software is very important. This is something xiaomi needs to improve on

BTW u can try revolt kernel or Electrablue kernel on dt cardinal aosp rom

the functions in the custom rom is enough already. Xposed tends to slow down performance especially if modules are much. I haven't used it since android 5.1 so i can't really say how the performance hit is. I have both revolt and electrablue but the stock has been great. Dunno if things may change i ft try dem sha

the stock is very good. I flashed velvet 6.5 but it won't deep sleep. I returned to stock and it's running smoothly.

every one has preferences. Resurrection is good for customization but you can't call it the best due to that

Gcam and Cardinal has made me care less about upgrading to a Redmi 5Plus.
There are plenty things to explore about this phone, but the time noh dey. The ones I managed to, have given me complete satisfaction.

mehn dat cardinal na fire. Far better dan miui, very stable and consumes less battery. I use viper os for my mi 5s plus and Gcam its great too. I convinced my bro to use cardinal on his own rn4 and he's been loving it since then even updated to 5.3.1 yesterday, it only gets better

Average people know... Xiaomi uses good Lens but their Camera software is a BIG let down.

If you're not a pro to master the manual settings, getting a clean shot is almost impossible except on a bright sunny environment.

I will soon port to Huawei or LeEco

the camera software really downgrades the wonders of the lens. I think things are better with the mi note 3. There are great comments about the picture quality

infinix no be fone now. I've tried ota on two xiaomi phones with root and custom recovery and it works fine. You use redwolf recovery and enable incremental ota function. On mi 5s plus its zcx recovery with the same function. Developer support for xiaomi no dey d same level with infinix now. No even dey compare them

it's not hard if u are rooted. With root and redwolf recovery self u can still get software updates so it's like enjoying best of both worlds.

Yea, you can flash the camera2api with twrp, use camera2api enabler magisk module or the build.prop edit method.

Who uses Gcam here? The new version with portrait mode rocks and it improves picture quality a lot. The portrait mode is awesome. It really looks like pictures taken with expensive cameras and it works with most phones. I tried it on redmi note 4 and my mi 5s plus, its the bomb the attached picture is one of the samples from the redmi note 4 photography group on telegram taken on a redmi note 4.
