PoliticsRe: Saraki Appointed National Leader Of PDP by AceRoyal:
In this game of political chess it seems APC needs to restrategize.
Even if APC wins the presidential election, it's going to be Pyrrhic victory for them.
APC may win the battle but will ultimately implode and lose the war.
So far their game plan is very poor, pride and arrogance have clouded their sense of judgement.
This has given PDP a life line and they are really capitalizing on it.
While APC makes so much noise, PDP is making so many underground political moves.

APC in government, PDP in power.
PoliticsQuestions On The Oshiomole Vs Ngige Show Down by AceRoyal(op): 3:50pm On Jul 23, 2018
The recent development between the APC party chairman Adams Oshiomole and the Minister for Labor and productivity Chris Ngige has left me with more questions than answers. The most paramount questions are;
A. Does a party chairman have the constitutional and legal right to give orders to a serving minister or someone appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

B. Must ministerial appointees be card carrying members of a political party?

C. Some have argued that the party chairman wields so much power, far greater than that of the president, as he can decide to expel the president from the party and thus technically remove him from office. Is this constitutionally and legally possible?

I seek answers to these questions and those who are more enlightened should please clarify them for us.

EducationRe: Carry Over Is Ruining My Life Please Help Me by AceRoyal: 10:56am On Jul 08, 2018
Soakaway:
I'm typing this with tears filled eyes. I'm 200 Level student of an higher institution located in the south eastern part of Nigeria. I gained admission around August / September 2016 but i couldn't resume same time with my mates because of some financial problems with was later sorted out and I had to resume half way of the semester with almost all quiz already done and just a week to exam. I did all i could do to make sure i avoid carry over but unfortunately for me I had 3 carryovers in my first semester year one and 4 carry overs in my year one second semester.
My 200 level exam came and i could only register one carryover out of the carry over i had in my year one first semester and I did (still hoping it comes out good).
Our 200 first semester results level results was released two days ago and i went to check mine today to my utmost surprise i had 4 carryovers out of 7 of our departmental courses which was released, i couldn't believe what i saw even though i did all i could do to make sure I don't miss quiz or assignments. I wasn't always in school to mark my attendance because of my financial situation to transport my self to school every day and i can't tell someone to mark my attendance for me cos the lecturers are fond of calling each and everyone names one after the other to make sure no one is trying to helping anybody.

I don't want to bore you guys with a long story, as I'm typing to you right now i got
1 outstanding carry over in my year one first semu
1 outstanding carry over in my year one second semester and
4 carry overs in my 200 level first semester

Our 2nd semester exam is starting on Monday and I'm doing everything within my power to make sure i don't disappoint my self one more time.
I can't just imagine the pain my parents are going to feel if they should know what I'm going through right now, I'm dying inside of me.
Please i got two years left, i noticed how good nairalanders are with assisting people with good advices that's the reason I'm tabling my troubles before you guys.

Please i need help with what i can do to graduate same time with my mates, i know it's impossible to make first class and almost impossible to make 2.1 all i need right now is to come out at the same time with my mates with a 2.2 degree.

Forgive my typos please.

Please i can't tolerate insults cos i might end up killing myself this is really killing me.
God bless you all
Every problem has a blessing in disguise.
Why don't u concentrate on graduating with good grades than with ur mates.
Doing very good in your carry over courses will really help boost ur GPA even though u might not graduate with your mates.
I know it's hard but try not to out yourself under any pressure.
You might get to spill, but make sure u give every carry over your best!!

PoliticsRe: How Will FG Identify Poorest Nigerians To Benefit From Abacha Loot? by AceRoyal: 11:34am On Jul 06, 2018
nairavsdollars:
The federal government said poorest Nigerian families will get N5,000 each as it prepares to share $500m Abacha loot.

How will they identify these poor Nigerians? Is this not another way of relooting the loot?
As a Nigerian youth, I have been very slow in making any comment on the said Abacha loot. Despite various controversies surrounding it.

Many focused on the alleged statement by the President before his ascension to office, of denying that Gen. Sani Abacha who was his boss at that time, never stole.
Very few focused on how the money when recovered will be channeled.

The federal government on Monday in Abuja announced that $320 million stolen funds by late military dictator, Sani Abacha , would be spent on the "CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER SCHEME" of the administration to support the poor.
Reading this on Monday made my heart bleed. There is absolutely no wisdom in this.

The president some weeks ago caused an uproar amongst Nigerian youths where he branded us as largely lazy, uneducated and always sourcing for free handouts from the government.

Now the government is saying it wants to spend the recovered loot on "CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER SCHEME" of the administration to support the poor. Meaning they want to give free cash handouts to the poor.

Is this not encouraging Laziness and illiteracy our President accused the youths of?
Is this not plain hypocrisy?

This is an avenue for some corrupt elements in the government to legally siphone the recovered loot in the guise of "conditional cash transfer scheme".
There is a popular proverb that says "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but teach him how to fish and you'll feed him for life."

I'm really surprised that this is the most brilliant idea this administration can come up with despite been filled up with very educated and enlightened personalities.

The recovered $320 million can do a whole lot in helping to boost the overall sustainable development of this country.

For a president that travels out of the country so often for medical checkups and who's son was flown abroad for good medical health care after his bike accident sometime back, $320 million can help revamp our health sector.

For a country plagued by high rate of unemployment, limited developmental opportunities and poor social infrastructures.
The recovered loot can create good industrial development, provide good social infrastructure, improve our educational sector and create more technical schools, help boost SMEs, promote agricultural development, etc.

We the youths and the poorest amongst us don't need free handouts, we need good social and economic development, steady and constant power supply, good roads, etc. For crying out loud an enabling environment for good sustainable economic, financial and social empowerment.
The present economic and social realities do not encourage hardwork. That's why many youths turn to various social vices such as internet fraud.
Sharing that fund will only lead to high inflation, economic stagnation, social retrogression and negative sustainable development.

If we continue like this, I'm really afraid for our future generation and the future of this country.
The present realities on ground really paint a very gloomy picture of the future to those who have a sane and critical mind.

I can't keep silent anymore. I really love my country but most times I'm ashamed of our leaders.

salford1:
What i am trying to say is that the Nigerian police has been extorting money from people like forever. They are the one that needs to be fixed. SARs are just mobile policemen with a tag of SARs. There would always be anti-robbery squad, else try living in Lagos or anywhere in Nigeria without a crime squad and see how armed robbers would reign supreme and kill people mercilessly. Worse case scenario, they would disband SARs and form another squad. It is still going to be SARs just rebranded with a different name.
What's the job description of the police I'm general?
Why do we need a particular squad to combat crime.
What's the essence of the mobile police and civil defense?
No matter how you try to defend this, it holds no ground!

What is the proof though. Seems rugged man has some personal beef with SARs. If SARs are disbanded, what do you replace them with, Soldiers?

From my experience, all forces personal with guns are no different from SARs. It would be nice to also present alternatives when people call for them to be disbanded.
What is the job of the Nigerian police?
SARS is just a unit within the police, are you insinuating that SARS is bigger and more important than the entire police?

This shows how very insensitive and heartless our leaders are!
How can fines be more than the minimum wage?
This is pure extortion and wickedness!
Lots of motorists will be exploited by these inhumane fines.
Is this how develop countries operate?

The only thing these present crop of leaders under the same ruling political party are very good at is multiple taxation, fines, levies and extortion in various forms.

"The suspect identified by his nickname “One bullet” was arrested after he went to raid some suspected yahoo boys with the help of some SARS officers. After the raid, they extorted their victims of N220,000 and an iPhone X."

I hope you guys read this part of the report!
This further proves that SARS are criminals, that terrorise and extort from people.
SARS has no business with "suspected" internet fraudsters, that's the job of the EFCC.

Despite numerous cries from the general public, the government is still keen on keeping SARS. This shows how insensitive the government is to the plight of the public!
