Professor Ade Ajayi, Vice Chancellor. University of Lagos, was the next in line to proscribe Students Confraternities on  Campus, after some Students mustered courage and attacked  Pyrates Confraternity (Walrus Deck) sally, over reported cases of excessive intimidation and molestation, it was a bloody attack, with both sides sustaining serious injuries, the Pyrates were the worse off and also suffered public humiliation, after being  overrun by the large group of Students, captured Pyrates were striped naked and paraded around the campus. Other Institutions later proscribed Campus Cult, with Professor Banjo, Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan, where Student Confraternity started in 1952, with the formation of the Pyrates Confraternity by seven (7) Students, (popularly referred to as the Magnificent seven) which included Prof Wole Soyinka (Captain Blood of Tortuga in Pyratical circles) Prof Bolanle Awe. Ralph Opara, Ikpebare Aig-Imokhuede, etc, being the last to proscribe Confraternities on Campus in 1985.

Pyrates never left deck, they were expelled from certain decks/tertiary institutions. The NAScapoon may have tried to save face but they have already been disgraced since the 70s

You are still making a mistake, young man. NAS has no business with any pseudo-frat. NAS is way beyond that. NAS is the only organization with an open club house in Nigeria, even non-members are allowed entry. If you need the address to their club house in any location, just go to the website. The police and army provide security for them during their programs. NAS is bigger than you think and your opinion is irrelevant.

NAS does the best it can by reporting illegal activities of these guys but the fight is for the universities and the security forces to rid the campuses of these guys. And again, you can go with whatever opinion you have about NAS, doesn't change a thing. NAS don't do image laundry and the last thing the organization worry itself about is anyone's opinion.

NAS intake process is not "amenable" to abuse. There is a procedure and that story deviates from the procedure so it's nothing but hogwash. I know because I know, I am talking from a position of authority that that story is nothing but a figment of your imagination or whoever wrote it. It did not happen.

I have no business with other groups. NAS is not on campuses. NAS does not recruit students. NAS has no affiliation with those mimics parading themselves as pyrates on campuses. NAS has written severally to school VCs distancing themselves from campus groups claiming to be pyrates. What else do you want NAS to do?

NAS is bigger than you think and instead of arguing like an unintelligible person, take your phone and do some research yourself. The association has written to the police, Vice-Chancellors and to the general public on numerous occasions that anybody caught parading himself as Pyrate in any Nigerian university should be arrested and prosecuted.
