Nigerian notorious internet scammer Ramon Olorunwa popularly known as Hushpuppi has destroyed his Nigerian international passport after going through a lot of detention by the FBI in the United States of America. He was unhappy by the way Nigerian Government abandoned him in the hands of the American FBI without regarding him as one of Nigerian citizen. He thereby denounces his Nigerian citizen and destroyed his Nigerian international passport.

Hushpuppi who is a Nigerian Instagram influencer and regarded as the king of Gucci was arrested by the Dubai police in June 2020 as he was accused of internet scam, business email compromise, fraud, identity theft and other online criminal activities. If found guilty he may be sentenced to 20 years in prison in the United States of America. Hushpuppi is currently facing criminal charges alleging he conspired to launder hundreds of millions of dollars from business email compromise (BEC) frauds and other scams.

He was denied bail and told by a judge on Monday in Chicago that he will remain detained until the end of his trial later this year over online scam and money laundering allegations. Appearing at a detention hearing, a court in the Northern District of Illinois ruled that Hushpuppi will be transported to Los Angeles by the U.S. Marshals Service, and will not be allowed to stay with his girlfriend’s uncle in Homewood, Illinois. His trial is slated to be held in Los Angeles where the case was filed, rather from Chicago where the investigation is being handled.

Throughout the hearing Hushpuppi lawyer denied that his client was a flight risk or a danger to the community, repeatedly rejecting the allegations made against his client by the FBI’s affidavit posted earlier this month.

Adams Oshiomole, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed regret for backing Godwin Obaseki to win Edo Governor in 2016.

Addressing members of the ruling party in Benin, Adams made this appeal.

In his words:

“Obaseki is MoU (Memoranda of Understanding) governor, but Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is a man of God, who will ensure good governance in Edo State from November 12 this year.

“I have made my honest mistakes. Only God is perfect. I am now 68 years old. I have come to apologise for the mistake of supporting Obaseki in 2016. I am in Edo State to repair my mistakes.

“Obaseki has abused the trust of Edo people. With our permanent voter cards, we shall punish Obaseki on September 19. Ize-Iyamu will not repeat the mistakes of Obaseki. Ize-Iyamu will take Edo State to the next level.

“Obaseki pretended for almost eight years, while he did not believe in what I was doing as the governor.

“In 2007, Ize-Iyamu stepped down for me. In 2012, he was the Director-General of my re-election campaign organisation and we won in all the 18 local government areas of Edo. I will work for the election of Ize-Iyamu.”

Lieutenant General Tukur Buratain and the current Chief of Army Staff, has declared that ‘Nigeria is presently safer than five years ago’.

Buratai made this disclosure during a sit-out with soldiers who were injured doing their duties against rebellion and receiving medical attention at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna. He further commended the soldiers for being patriotic.

He said,

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole has vowed to do everything within his scope of influence to have incumbent governor Godwin Obaseki removed from office in the soon to come governorship election in the State.

This Oshiomhole said when he spoke to a crowd of APC supporters who received him on his arrival from Abuja at the weekend.

According to him, although he threw his weight behind Obaseki, just so in wins in 2016, he has however become a snake , started fighting party members by destroying their properties and arresting them unwarrantedly.

Oshiomhole said he has only come home for a project , he noted that he isn’t going back to Abuja until his work is completed.

“I have come home for only one project. I am not going back to Abuja until the project is completed. I came back home not to rest, but to work,” Oshiomhole said.

“The governor was demolishing the houses of our members while some were being jailed for trump up charges; these are the people who fought for him to become governor.

“I begged those who were being persecuted to take it easy, that they shouldn’t burn the house we all laboured to build because we want to smoke out the snake. Now, the snake has been smoked out of the house.

“A few weeks earlier, the snake said APC was his house and that he was not leaving. Less than 72 hours after saying this, he left.

“If we had burnt the house because the snake was giving us a problem, we would all have been homeless by now,” he added

The Federal Government has dimissed the proposed increment of license fee for courier services by the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST.

The minister of communication and digital economy, Isa Pantami, in a tweet Saturday morning, insisted that the increase was not part of the regulation he approved for the agency on Friday, July 24.

“Our attention has been drawn to an increase of licence fee, which was not part of the regulation I earlier approved for you,” he stated.

He added that NIPOST chairman and Post Master General “were yesterday (Friday) contacted to put the implementation on hold and send a report to our ministry by Monday.”

NIPOST’s proposed increase as announced, has generated huge outrage in the public.

The new charges introduced by NIPOST are expected to cause an increase in the cost of courier services and delivery goods.

According to NIPOST, companies which provide international courier services like DHL, UPS and FEDEX, are expected to pay N20m for a new licence and N8m annually while those who offer national services are expected to pay N10m for licence and N4m yearly for renewal.

A woman who gave birth to triplets has cried out on television begging for help to feed her babies.
A new mother of triplets, Mary Tago has begged fellow citizens to help her feed her adorable babies.

The woman who lives in an uncompleted building is a resident of Sarpeiman at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region. She has been hit hard with the challenge of providing for her kids.

The mother of triplets’ poor background has also compounded her current situation.

Speaking about her depressing condition in an interview, Mary, a trader, told Kofi TV she was selling rice water before she delivered her triplets.

Not only is Mary burdened with the responsibility of providing for her children, but she and her kids also face an immediate problem of eviction from the incomplete building by their landlord.

In the recent interview, Mary also bemoaned the plight of her husband who is jobless. She said her husband is a trotro driver but he does not have a car at the moment.

According to her: ‘‘He sometimes gets out to look for job early dawn but he comes home with nothing, he is really going through hardships.”

Mary lamented about their ordeal and the unbearable burden of fending for the kids after she gave birth to her triplets.

The People’s Democratic Party(PDP), the major opposition party to the ruling All Progressives Party (APC), has demanded the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over reported cases of corruption in agencies at federal level.

National chairman of the opposition party, Prince Uche Secondus, made the call in an ongoing media parley in Abuja.

He cited ongoing corruption investigations of the NDDC, MIC, NEDC, NSITF, EFCC and others, stating Nigeria, under Buhari’s watch, was on ventilator gasping for breath.

Secondus said corruption has become a way of life among Nigerians while Buhari plays the ostrich.

He accused Buhari of abandoning his promise to fight corruption during electioneering campaigns in 2015 and 2019.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have welcomed more defectors from their main rival, All Progressives Congress (APC) and other parties.
The Publicity Secretary, Chris Nehikhare, made the disclosure yesterday in an online statement.

He said: “PDP leaders in Edo State have held more sensitisation and strategic meetings. They have welcomed more defectors from the APC and other parties in the 192 wards and 18 local governments.

“At Ekperi wards 6, 7 and 8 of Etsako Central Local Government, over 1,000 people attended the meeting. Addressing the crowd, the Edo North Senatorial Coordinator for PDP Campaign Council, Mr. Pascal Ugbome, spoke about the sterling qualities of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

“Ugbome also spoke about the need to support Governor Obaseki, while receiving favourable responses and commitments from the attendees. They resolved that Ekperi was satisfied with Governor Obaseki and promised to deliver over 80 per cent of the registered voters to PDP. They disclosed that only a few APC members were left at Ekperi.”
