betabread: Ur using d wrong pesticide, ddforce(ddvp ) has a vapourising effect, it is better used in an enclosed environment for fumigation
Another thing to look at is epidemology of army worm, When ur maize farm us surrounded by so many other maize farms, u dont even know if ur neighboring farmers are treating for pest......
If ur neighbour does not treat for army worm, the pest will simply migrate to ur farm when the effect of the pesticide u use wears off......
In my own experience when u farm off season, when every tom dick and harry cant farm maize is when one can evaluate the efficacy of most pesticide I learnt along the line I used the wrong pesticide. But I used the dosage of the applied pesticide to also quantify the resilience of Maize |

betabread: What qty of ginger and tumeric did u use per acre or per knapsack Just about to put that to test this week. But I noticed after using heavy concentration of DD force multiple times, Maize is resilient. This taught me that Maize could witstand a lot. I applied so much peesticides after fall army worm almost ruined 95% of my labour |

betabread: Did u try d ginger and tumeric on maize I am going to use them this September-November window. I already researched it and farmers overseas are also turning to them. I am even turning to cultivating Spices in large volume next year |

betabread: Neem extract yes
But dont go ginger and tumeric unless it has been documented and tried
Dont use ur farm for experiment, no body will emboss u d money lost I experimented with my last produce too late. I had the most infected farm in my entire village but turned out top three in terms of produce. I hardly fail with my experiments. When I reared broilers are regular drugs weren't working and they were dying, I switched to my formular. Guess what, none died of diseases cause anymore. When I mean none, none in around 400 pieces. Only few deaths after my experimentations were from stampede |

casualobserver: This is my problem with agriculture in Nigeria. We keep using toxic pesticides on our food chain that have been banned in other countries.
Atrazine, Paraguay and glysophhates are banned in many countries but they are in widespread use in Nigeria no wonder cancer in on the increase and our exports are banned from entering some countries. Suggest alternatives to any toxic substances you notice and you can motivate us to make changes. Example I am switching to Ginger, Garlic, Tumeric and Neem Extract to take care of pests and insects |

Ameboperoo2: Don't stop drying it until it's completely dry. My maize is super dried after almost five days of sunshine. Taking to my solar drying next to continually improve the dryness |
