I refuse to come down to your level. Believeintruth: Try and have sense. Igbos did not create any law that abolished secession. During the Lancaster independence discussions, the british gave as a precondition of independence that the borders of colonial Nigeria must not be touched, Awo, Zik and Sardauna all signed that agreement. This was why the british overruled Awolowo in the secession clause. Make una take am easy to dey lie. How can one man overrule more than 20 delegates present in the meeting? Try and have sense once again. |

Properties › Re: House Rent And Agent Issue In Abuja by Actuarydeji(op): 7:07am On Jan 09, 2025 |
I have been looking for a two bedroom apartments in Abuja for the past 3 months now, these agent will connive with the landlord to increase the rent upward. An apartment that supposed to be within the range 900k they would advise the landlord to increase it to 2m because of their own commission. Admin, please kindly push this to the frontpage Namaster: House Agents in Nigeria are the THIRD-BIGGEST criminals in Nigeria after politicians and the Nigerian Police.
ALL of them are CRIMINALS. And it's NOT just in Abuja. It's EVERYWHERE!
I have searched for accomodation in 3 states across TWO geopolitical zones. ALL the agents I dealt with were SLEAZY, UNEMPLOYABLE dolts that could only eke out a living in an UNDER-REGULATED sector like agency.
They are USELESS and SUPERFLUOUS when you consider the fact that MOST of them are responsible for houses staying VACANT over long periods of time.
On one occasion, I explained in COPIOUS details the kind of apartment I was looking for. Yet this elderly man took me to an an upstairs apartment with NO windows or doors.
On another occasion, I explained to the housing agent that I needed a SINGLE or TWO bedroom apartment in a particular area.
This CRIMINAL took me to a gigantic THREE bedroom apartment with HOLES in every room.
Another WICKED thing they do is to act as "agents to other agents".
By that, I'm referring to a situation whereby one agent will collect "inspection fees" for an apartment he does NOT have. Then he'd take you to ANOTHER agent who DOESN'T have it either but knows ANOTHER agent who does.
That's how you'll end up inspecting a SINGLE apartment with 3 different agents. All of them USELESS.
This "acting as agents to other agents" is why apartments of #400k per annum would be advertised qs #700k Total Package.
Governments need to BAN all of the JOBLESS criminals masquerading as housing agents.
House letting should be CONSOLIDATED into the hands of a few highly REGULATED and appropriately LICENSED companies. |

It is high time the Federal government started checkmating some agent here in Abuja, things are somehow hard and the agents are also creating more issue by influencing the upward review of house rent in order for their own commission to increase. They how charged 20% in Abuja. This is absurd! |
