Pascalville: so nobody has a solution to this in this large forum.. no sentiments but for a new redmi note 7 that i have barely used for a week..i am disappointed in Xiaomi.. i swear i could have gotten a samsung or hauwei instead.. my proximity isn't functioning at all and most of you all telling people to buy xiaomi RN7 now can't even fix this shît.. thank God i aint the only one. Online people have the same issue. Now i have to do a kernal flash on my rom. I hate china fones..who wanna buy this piece of crap.. i am tired.. whenever i am on call the screen doesnt turn blind and my ear accidentally keeps pressing the Device while i place the device on my ear while on call
Sell it...rubbish...nobody forced you at gun point to buy it...
Born2smile: The explanation from omotolsy seems plausible. MKBHD only commented on what he saw with his two korokoro eyes. Others too stated what they have seen with their own eyes. In the end, everybody is correct in one way or another.
It may just be a software glitch that causes it to produce horrible pictures in some situations. That can be corrected in a firmware update.
Someone on the thread said he experienced similar issue only when light is coming directly into the camera...they said it cant be corrected with a software update and thats how the pop up mechanism is....their words not mine o..hehen.
Doesn't look biased to me....he praised the features that we expected... That guy uses a high-end device so his bar is pretty high... Anyone else and it will be a great buy
Segzyboy1: Well, some 2 months ago, it went off before I woke up. I tired turning it on all to no avail. I left it alone and tried it again, then it showed low battery, meanwhile I charged it full overnight. So when I got to work, I plugged it and it showed full battery, then I pressed the power button and it came on. It kept going off frequently since then but these past three days have been strange- it goes off anytime and will choose not to power on. Sometimes it goes for an hour before it comes on again.
sureteeboy: Hello gurus in the house Grandmufti Gptech adamix jboixxx and co. Kindly assist on this. My redmi note 5 has an issue of ghost image retention which I learnt can be corrected by rooting the phone and adjusting the screen rgb values with an app (Kernel Aduitor). Now I've rooted the device and I've installed the app, only to discover that the screen settings page where I'm supposed to make the adjustments in the app is nowhere to be found. I checked XDA for someone with similar issues, and the response was that someone needs a kernel that supports KCAL. I don't understand those ones again. Is it something I can easily flash?
Yes it needs a kernel that supports kcal...which rom are you on? Try to reach me on tg
Segzyboy1: Well done, guys. I'm having serious issues with my phone (Redmi Note 5). I bought it last year October. Some days/weeks now, the phone will just trip off and refuse to power on when I press the power button. Please help out ASAP as if it goes off now, I don't know when it'll come back on. Thanks!
