Ginger I love ginger and so do the Asians who have been using it for centuries. However, our local ginger has a plethora of benefits for everyone; men or women, young or old. Whether it be for health purposes or beauty reasons ginger has got you covered in one way or the other. I am fond of taking ginger particularly because it makes the eyes sharp and clears the cataracts if it is caused by excessive moisture. And majorly because ginger increases libido, boosts sperm count and sperm production in males. Some other benefits are; • Carminative i.e. it expels gas from the stomach and intestines. • Clearing of moisture from the head and throat. • Digesting heavy food and helping the stomach. • Laxative; it expels faeces. • Helping the liver. • Regulating the menstrual cycle in the women. • Reducing scarring due to its toning properties. • Protecting against skin aging. • Improving skin elasticity. • Strengthening the hair and stopping hair loss. And there are so many ways to use ginger, with tea, milk or honey. Whichever it is that ails you, there is sure to be a ginger combination to help with that. My favourite way is with honey, for strength and libido baby! What is yours?

Black Seeds and Honey reverses HIV status In 2004, a 27 year old pregnant woman was diagnosed during her ante natal care with having HIV but she couldn't commence the antiretroviral treatment because her CD4 count was above 200 cellls/~L. So she consulted a herbal therapist who commenced her on Nigella Sativa and Honey therapy (60:40 respectively) of 10ml thrice daily from her third trimester for a year. Since 2005, her HIV tests were negative with undetectable viral load and she went on to have three (3) more children in (2007, 2010 and 2012) that she breastfed without any of them having the HIV infection. Another proof that "black seeds cure all diseases." Prophet Mohammed Research: SERONEGATIVE CONVERSION OF AN HIV POSITIVE SUBJECT TREATED WITH NIGELLA SATIVA AND HONEY, 2015, Dr A. Black Seeds and Type 2 Diabetes Researches indicate Nigella Sativa is good for diabetes management. Research findings suggest nigella Sativa (Black seeds) supplementation is a suitable choice in managing type 2 diabetes. Another research also finds a reduction in blood sugar levels without weight loss, liver or kidney damage among other positive results after taking about 2 grams of Black Seeds a day for 3 months. However both researches indicate more data is needed before black seeds can be effectively used as an effective treatment for diabetes. Remembering Dr Adadevoh We join the rest of the world in remembering a great woman whose efforts saved Nigeria from an Ebola virus epidemic after it was first introduced here in 2014. Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh correctly diagnosed patient zero (Patrick Sawyer) of the Ebola virus infection despite his insistence of "a bad case of malaria", she kept him in isolation despite diplomatic pressures from the Liberian govt to release him for a conference in Calabar, she created a quarantine area for the patient despite the lack of safety equipment and all the while Nigerian doctors were on strike at the time. She educated staff about the virus, provided protective gear and quickly contacted relevant officials. As a result of her report, the Nigerian government declared a national public health emergency and the Nigerian Ministry of Health set up an Ebola Emergency Operations Center. WHO declared Nigeria to be Ebola-free on October 20, 2014. Dr Adadevoh succumbed to the Ebola Virus Disease whilst in quarantine and passed away on the 19 August 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria. The film "93 Days" is dedicated to Dr Adadevoh and tells the story of the treatment of Patrick Sawyer by Adadevoh and other medical staff at First Consultant Medical Center.

Turmeric If there's a herb that should always be available at hand, at home and everywhere you go? It is turmeric! Turmeric is argued by many to be the most powerful herb on the planet at fighting and potentially reversing disease. And it is useful for just about anything. Whether it's in your food or for your teeth, skin, health and beauty turmeric has a benefit for all these if you know the proper application. For your food: Turmeric powder is packed with super-nourishing curcumin and heaps of healthy properties. It delivers an earthy flavour like no other, complete with subtle notes of orange and ginger. Adds distinct and delightful flavour (and stunning yellow-gold glow) to cuisine from every continent. Perfect for flavouring rice, vegetable dishes, curries, stir-fries, soups, broths and much more. For your health: A highly effective and 100% natural anti-inflammatory. This helps to protect our joints, maintain overall flexibility and protects the body from oxidative stress. Helps maintain liver and biliary system health and promotes a good appetite. Turmeric powder also facilitates the digestion in various ways, improving the breakdown of fats, stimulating digestive fluid production and generally promoting greater digestive comfort. For your skin: Turmeric is an antioxidant that fends off free radicals that cause premature aging. To make a face mask, Mix a few tablespoons of Turmeric + honey or milk + 2 drops of lemon in a bowl Add water and stir to form a smooth paste. Apply on freshly washed skin. Leave this mask on for at least 20 minutes, rinse off with water. Turmeric face masks soothe skin blemishes and heal acne scars to rejuvenate your skin. Fenugreek for Men Fenugreek has been used in arthritis and sexual dysfunction treatment for men in Indian traditional medicine for ages. It may also increase sexual arousal and testosterone levels and enhance athletic performance. However, it's best to consult a physician before using natural remedies for treating illnesses, just to make sure it would be safe for you. Studies have shown that fenugreek extracts have a significant influence on sexual arousal, energy, and stamina and helps maintaining a normal testosterone level. There has also been so many libido enhancing supplements produced from fenugreek that claim to increase sexual desire and performance. Many research articles have also been written claiming that fenugreek significantly increases performance in weightlifting, reduced body fat, increased muscle strength, body composition, power output and increase testosterone levels in men. The inflammatory prevention property of fenugreek has shown that it is beneficial in preventing heartburn as well for those seeking alternative therapy. So from my research at least I can say that fenugreek is tremendously beneficial for men. Side Effects: There is this fear of men growing boobs and even lactating from fenugreek use. I doubt it. However always start small and always pay attention to your body. If your pecks and glute muscles seem to be getting bigger just work out those areas to tone them up. You'll only end up looking awesome.
|
To gain weight using fenugreek is easy because it is already very nutritious, but whenever you consume fenugreek just drink lots of water. Doing this will put the fenugreek to work on your stomach which will increase your appetite and make you consume more foods. Just be sure to eat mainly energy-rich foods. And don't worry about indigestion, fenugreek has been known to improve digestive problems in the stomach and it also helps with eating disorders resulting in better nutrition for your body. To further increase your weight gaining chances drink fenugreek tea. You can buy some or make your own. Just add slightly crushed fenugreek seeds/fenugreek powder to boiled water, leave to seep for about 3 - 5 minutes, strain the resulting water into a cup then add honey or tea as desired. Drink hot or cold. For breastfeeding women, fenugreek is also known to increase a woman's breast milk supply. But please start small because some women have been known to be allergic to fenugreek. Some women have also claimed to have increased their breast and hip size by ingesting fenugreek seeds (or capsules), or by simply rubbing fenugreek oil or applying fenugreek paste (mixed with olive oil and saw palmetto) to it. For MEN also supplementing with fenugreek has been shown to have a significant increase in lean mass, muscle gains including upper & lower body strengths. This is because fenugreek helps to release energy in the body which allows more workouts and exercises to be carried out during bodybuilding. Fenugreek Side Effects However, when ingested it sometimes causes gas, bloating and diarrhea. So always test with a small quantity first.
