In other prevent further atrocities to Ibadan people by the top Civil servants manipulating the Governor, I wrote to the President to explain the situation of things in Oyo State. See the attached letter and the courier receipt for tracking. https://odualeadership.com/adebowale-to-governor-makinde/ I have always copied the Chief Ladoja any letter I write to the Olubadan and Governor Seyi Makinde. To my surprise I have not received any reply. It will be good enough if members of the public and well wishers of Ibadan can advice Governor Seyi Makinde not to allow the Civil Servant mislead him like they did to Governor Ajimobi. Thanks

Chief Rasheed Ladoja, the current Osi Olubadan is one of the few uncommon Nigerians. He was unjustly impeached as a Governor of Oyo State making him to lose about a year in favour of an Ogbomoso man, Alao Akala. He spent three years while Alao Akala spent five as a Governor through the help of Lamidi Adedubu. And when Adedubu died, Akala stopped Government executives of Oyo State from using Government money to pay obituary advert. Their was a time he said in the news paper “There is nothing like Ibadan people” The top civil servants from Ogbomosho and others packaged a serious corruption case with the EFCC against Ladoja. Thank God for the Judgment. If he had lost it would have been a serious disaster. Our enemies would have been taunting Ibadan indigenes that the Osi Olubadan is corrupt. A whole third in command to the Olubadan. May God forbid bad thing. Ladoja believes in thoroughness almost to a fault. Considering the political terrain in Nigeria, he is not supposed to join politics. Chief Ladoja was very very successful before going into politics unlike professional rouges who use public monies to acquire houses in Dubai, USA, UK, Ibadan, Ajah, Victoria Island and other places. Ladoja studied Chemical Engineering in Europe and Secure a big Job with Total Petroleum Company abroad and was sent to Nigeria. When he left Total, he became a shiping magnate. It was the head office of his Shipping Company in London that temporarily served as NADECO office during the turbulent period of June 12. Committed crusaders of June 12 issues like Senator Bola Tinubu were always gathering there to formulate strategies. Read more here :https://odualeadership.com/new-ibadan-indigene-governors/

Sarah20A:The fight for the creation of Osun State Nigeria started in the 1950s. At that time, the current Osun State was under the Ibadan District Authority. The representatives of Osun West, East, and Central, submitted the petition to the British Colonial Government. They wanted to create an autonomy for Osun State. Moreover, they even proposed Oshogbo as the autonomy headquarters. The leaders of Osun State pursued this agenda up to 1951. Only the colonialists headed by H.L. Butcher, managed to settle down the leaders of Osun State. H.L. Butcher granted an autonomy for Osun District Towns on April 1st, 1951. After that, the leaders of Osun State had to wait more than 40 years for the creation of their state! Thanks |
One Mr. Ayandotun Ayanlakin who is being referred to as the occupier of the office London Royal Ambassador wrote an article in the Nigerian Tribune of February 3rd 2008 page 42 concerning Olubadan and Alaafin. For any Alaafin to equate himself to the Olubadan or aspire to level up with the Olubadan is not only a mistake but also sacrilege. There are two types of ego. One is child ego while the other is parent ego. It is unfortunate that over many years now, extravagant bragging bourn out of unwarranted empty ambition is evident. With the royal highness. It is high time to straighten things out so that the mind of the present generation of Yoruba children are not polluted with exaggerated and falsified history in a bid to launder the -image of an individual out of desperation. The most unfortunate thing is that some supposedly independent traditional rulers are being coerced or oppressed by making them to undermine their positions in order to re-write history to favour an individual. It is not their fault. When I read the communiqué on page 27 of Nigerian Tribute February 9 2008 I quickly remember: a quotation of A. C Gab that says ‘If you don’t know where you are going in this life, people will lead you to where they are going”. The Alafin of Oyo has no crown at all. Ade lafi nmo Oba. Thecrown being used now was granted by Adeoyo (Balogun Akinlagun), father –in-law to my great grand father who was also a Balogun of Ibadan. The crown was not fortified accordingly because the Kabiyesi, Ogunola the Baale and final arbiter in Yoruba Land, the Emperor of Ibadan Empire refused to grant real crown for the fact that he saw Alaafin as someone that would eventually grow wings. Many people who know the History of Ibadan vis – a- vis the authority the Baales displayed over their fore fathers, still harbor resentment against Ibadan of today. The Oke-Ogun Obas, people and Alaafin are in the same camp. Ibadan Indigenes of today are loving, accommodating, and very Godly. Please read more here: https://odualeadership.com/alafins-crown/
