You are absolutely right. What do they plan to use the increase for? This government needs to be answering tons of questions from Nigerians everyday because they've completely lost track of their final destination.

whytediamond:
The evil government hasn't bothered to tell the people that voted them into power what they intend to use the almost 50% increase in tax revenue for.

How do they expect startups and small businesses to survive?

There is much work we have to do in this country. By the statistics we have @ had presently, I think the Federal and State Government have to go back to the drawing board and plan for this new sets of people coming into Nigeria even from Libya.

The nations population is exploding every minute, every hour and every day; and there is little or no adequate plan to put both our human and natural resources to use.
PoliticsRe: Tribunal Affirms Alimikhena’s Election, Throws Out Idiake’s Petition by Adecodedstar(m): 2:06pm On Sep 10, 2019
Ctorch:
he Edo State Election Petition Tribunal has upheld the election of Senator Francis Alemikhena of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the Edo North Senatorial District election in Edo State.
Abubakar Momoh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had approached the court to declare him winner of the election on the grounds that Alimikhena did not score majority of lawful votes, over voting and that Alimikhena was not qualified to contest the election as he did not have the requisite qualification.
He alleged that the election was fraught with irregularities and non-compliances with Electoral Act and therefore should be declared winner.
The tribunal, in its ruling read by Justice S. M. Kibo, held that the petitioner did not prove his petition beyond reasonable doubt and therefore dismissed the petition for lack of merit.
The tribunal, however, dismissed all the grounds of the petition as well as reliefs sought by the petitioner.
In another judgment, the tribunal threw out the petition filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Esan West/Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Patrick Idiake, for lack of merit.
Hon Joe Edionwele was declared winner of the election after which Idiake approached the tribunal to declare him winner since, according to him, the election did not hold in Unit Nine, Ward Nine of Esan West local government area and that the election of Edionwele was invalid by reason of non-compliance with the Electoral Act.
But, the three-man tribunal in a unanimous judgment, said the petitioners did not prove allegations of corrupt practices beyond reasonable doubts.
The tribunal averred that the evidences of the witnesses called by the petitioners were not credible and could not substantiate their claims.
The tribunal upheld that there were indications that the witnesses called by the petitioners were tutored and gave no details of action incidences.

PoliticsRe: Women’s Day: Buhari Praises Nigerian Women For Roles In Nation Building by Adecodedstar(m): 9:18pm On Mar 08, 2019
Gistpeeps:
President Muhammadu Buhari has praised women across the country for the invaluable roles they play in building homes, and by extension, the nation.

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, he commended their lofty contributions in both the public and private sectors of national life.

“This election season we are in has brought out in bold relief, once again, the crucial role women play in our lives as a people,” the President was quoted as saying on Friday in a statement by his spokesman, Femi Adesina.

He added, “They have stood up to be counted as aspirants, candidates, mobilisers, and voters. Indeed, what can we ever do without our women in all phases of our lives?”

President Buhari recalled diverse positions being held by women as ministers, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, chief executives of agencies, permanent secretaries, directors-general, special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, and many others.

He stressed, “Hand in hand with our women, we will build the country of our dreams, where there will be equal opportunity for all.”

According to the President, the fact that some of the government’s most important policies and programmes are headed by women is indicative of the worth and value the government places on them.

He highlighted the policies and programmes to include the pensions system, Social Investment Programme (SIP), diaspora engagements, energy solutions, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among others.

“On a day like this, I hereby extol and appreciate them, on behalf of all other Nigerians,” President Buhari affirmed.

International Women’s Day is designed to celebrate the potential, progress, and accomplishments of women across the world.

It is also a day set aside annually to highlight the utmost importance of creating a world that presents equal opportunities for women and men.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Balance For Better.

You who condemned your very own woman to the other room in the public for political advantage could mutter such words that women play an indispensable role in national building. I pity this nation and the people who elected you because you are a double edged sword.

PoliticsBreaking: APC NWC Panel Cancels Ongoing Primary Election In Lagos by Adecodedstar(op): 5:03pm On Oct 02, 2018
The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has said there was no primary election in Lagos state, Premium Times.
It was gathered that the panel said it had not sent anyone to the local governments to monitor the primaries.

As results of the voting had been announced at several wards in the state, the panel urged the public to disregard such announcements.
It was earlier reported that the chairman of the Lagos governorship electoral panel, Chief Clement Ebri, on Tuesday, October 2, reportedly said accreditation and voting were yet to commence at the various centres.

This is as various news sites including the electronic media carried clips of the exercise and interviewed critical stakeholders and one of the aspirants.

The electoral panel said the election had not started as at 1pm. The panel, in a statement, urged the public to be mindful of the reports flying around.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who arrived his ward in the Alausa area of the state earlier, said the party had decided against Ambode. He noted that he brought Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to the party and assisted him to become governor. He, however, said the situation was now beyond him.

Right now, Facebook is investing on some structural changes in order to adapt to emerging issues and complaints arising from its users. It has a promising future (as a result of it's numerous revenue streams which we don't completely know about) and its surely going to bounce back and recover all its loses.
If you do a thorough research on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube and the likes, you would ask a very intelligent question which is "how do they make money". You answer will just be they make money simply from Ads which is wrong. They are all into shared economy businesses. They are just online platform that act as brokers between seekers and owners. Consumer minded individuals see social media as just for fun.

A secret I want you all to know today is that " We are the products they are selling not the consumers". All your personal information that you updated on Facebook are sold to different organizations who need them for research works such as educational, political, economic and social research e.g. the recent Cambridge analytical scandal. They also sell your preferences (e.g. your interest in politics or a product as shown in your profile) to companies or politicians who need them in order to target you with ads that will influence you and make you have interest in their products in the market.
Facebook charges a service fee from all service providers because Facebook helps them to make you purchase more data thereby increasing their revenue also.

These and many more are the ways Facebook and the likes generate revenue. This is a virtual business that promises high returns. Sometimes it may flunctuate but its always on the increase.
Businesses (Online) like this are going to take over the world soon because they are destructive innovations that are displacing traditional methods (i.e. physical buying and selling)of doing business.

You can also study more about how Facebook generates revenue because there are numerous ways.

Let's all open our eyes and do our research well on SHARED ECONOMY BUSINESS MODELS.

Stop criticizing and turns problems around you into business opportunities.

PoliticsAnalysis Of Ekiti State Election In Relation To Our Economy by Adecodedstar(op): 12:07am On Jul 18, 2018

The Masquerade Festival

1 Dollar = 360 Naira.
A vote = 4000.00, 5000.00 and 10000.00 at different wards.

Buyers =APC and PDP.

While international poverty monitoring group ranked Nigeria as the poorest nation on earth, they returned 80 millions of our population to living below a Dollar per day.
I guess what happened in Ekiti election day on the 14th of July 2018, showed us all that the monitoring group were very generous with their figures. If living below a Dollar per day, majority of our people fall into this category.

And if our population is 200 millions people, then I will submit 120milions of us live above the threshold of poverty.
Average take home for those employed let say 75,000.00 Naira monthly. After tax and cost which will naturally take 50% of income, you are left with 37100.00 Naira.
Let us further brake down affordable income per day. 37100 .00 ×12 ÷365 days = 1220.00 Naira
The figure arrived at for an average worker in Nigeria is only 1,220.00 Naira per day.

Who is an average worker? Every worker with a mean income of 900,000.00 Naira per annum.

How many Nigerians are within this bracket?

Many Nigerian worker are between 18,000.00 and 40,000.00 Naira per month. You can work that out too.

Except you win the lottery or you take bribe, or pad contracts or demand % upfront. Hardly can any worker in Nigeria be corruption free.
Our so called leader knows this, it is to their advantage to keep us all in between this poverty threshold.
So when I saw the video of young and old breathlessly running from ward to wards to sell votes for the max their vote can attract, I do understand. The Ekiti election brought home the reality we all live in.

But questions must be asked, where are all these money came from. APC as a party proclaimed blocking all avenues of corrupt practices in his government. Dr Fayemi is only a minister, where did he get all the billions he bought the seat at the state House?

Where did Fayose got all the money he spent to install his deputy to the state House?
It will be foolery to think APC chose corruption fighting as arrow head of his administration, and a minister bought governor seat for Billions. And no questions asked.

For all of us that keep fighting other people's fight, I hope the picture is cleared now that you read this. You either increase income or reduce inflation, anything otherwise, we are all just making noise.
The masquerade festival will soon come to an end, in Ekiti, professional beggars will soon hit the streets, the prostitutes will resume their runs. 419, robbers and kidnappers will dust their guns to resume duty. Even at the seat of government, the occupiers will be busy recouping their harvest.

Soon another 4 years and we will start allover again.

God spare our lives, we will all be alive to remind ourselves.
