I added 4gb RAM to the system to make it 6gb, now it's super fast and doesn't lag irrespective of whatever programs I'm running.

Lest I forget, the rating jumped to 5.4 straight up

Not bad, Buh for that price, I reckon you make a bit more research to see if you can get a better machine/price tho

Very true, there's usually a limit to which one can upgrade the hardwares of certain laptops. Check the laptop's data sheet just to be on the safe side

Bro, just shut down the laptop, remove the battery, and ensure that it is not connected to power, then remove the chassis and locate the c-mos battery, remove it and leave the system that way for about 30mins. Returned the c-mos battery to it's slot and couple the chassis, power on and the password would have been cleared.

What's DDR3

There are different types of RAM bro, u have DDR, DDR2, DDR3 etc, the ram slots for laptops are different, just as those for Desktops are different as well, the RAM slot in Samsung Ativ Book 2 is only for DDR3. Yo dig?

Bro, it's not 4GB RAM it's actually 2GB (1.7GB usable). But it's a great laptop though, I've been using it for like three weeks and it has taken everything thrown at it pretty well. And I mean some heavy games and graphic designs app. I got it on Jumia for what I can only describe as a bargain price

It's light, slim and super efficient I'll give it a 4 Star Rating.

Very true, UTME is easier. The list is a lot more than that of DE, you have a better chance of being given a wide range of courses aside from the one you applied for, unlike DE where ur initial qualification has already limited you to a fair few related disciplines. Also with DE, your chances depend hugely on the qualifications and grade of those who applied for the same course as you, and since there is limited space available, chances are quite slim (especially in the competitive departments), even with Distinction/First Class, chances are that some might have a higher CGP than you.

All in all, it's always worth a try, congrats to those who got in, remember, always look at the number of folks who didn't as a source of motivation, so don't lose focus. That's my two penny.

People should just forget about this 'list' and let's proceed with our lives. If you are not given admission today, u may get it on next trials if u don't relent. D only person whom UI should have just considered against all odds for admission is ME because of wat I've been thru...but since it hasn't worked dat way, it's for a reason...life just has to continue.

Lest I forget, my time here has given me d privilege to meet PERSONS that I would have loved to relate with one on one. People like Sigolisis, Adegab, Oluwooo, hormolorlah, hysobright, callmebeauty, shadexbabe, alaoabiodun, Gideonaire, Gbengem, brainwavy etcetera...but for d fact dat God knows best, we only propose...there's absolute decorum on this thread...so many mighty people have been affected badly.

So it seems to me that all Engineering aspirants are up for the conjecture that the list has not been posted and/or still been uploaded.

I honestly think that's highly unlikely, however, as long as the door has not been closed. Let's all keep hoping, hope they say, is the last thing to leave a man. So let's keep the hope alive!

Also I tried interchanging the parameters, still same. I even tried to generate a random Jamb reg. no and a random PIN (hoping to get sumfin lyk "sorry u did not apply for ui... or sumfin in dat region). All na same o.

Guys, mine is saying "User Account Parameters (UAP) is/are not valid" o. I rep Engineering.

Just one theory, as it is now, I think it's only those that's been admitted are able to see their admission status. But I seriously hope that's not the case o.

Hi UI direct entry aspirant, am happy to tel u dt d list is going to be paste by nextweek. because our transcript is already in each department.... For computation as listed below:-
1. ND,NCE,cambrige,or A'level result is 50%
2. O'level is 30% from ur five relevant subjects
3. UR school standard is 10%
and finally
4. If ur formal course is correspond to the one u ar proposing for is 10% bt if nt is zero percent..
All equal to 100%. Dis is from a reliable source. One more thing especially for all engineering aspirant, UI jst need 4 candidates in each department for direct entry admission 2014/2015 session. May ALmighty Allah let d list favour us ...... AMIN

How about the Nigeria of tomorrow? It's not like he's getting the degree today is he, it will probably be in 4-5years time. However a first degree in Biology Education is a very good foothold and he can certainly make a career out of the degree in various fields of human endeavour. My grudge with him tho is that instead of coming to Nairaland to ask such **** question, he could have gone to Google to search and see how much of a career one can make out of a degree in Biology Education as oppose to having to sample people's opinion here. If most people were to say 'with a degree in biology education, you'll defo be a teacher' and he doesn't like teaching, will he turn down the offer?

Make the guy just decide if he's going to accept the offer or not.

Moving on to UI matters.

How many set of list do UI release for DE?

Guys, why the panic/hurry? The list will be out when the school deems it fit, until then there's nuffin anyone can do abt it other than hope for the best. So keep calm, God is in control and we'll surely be victors.

I suggest you go ahead and pay the acceptance fee if money is not an issue provided u lyk d course u r given. I fink Tasued's acceptance fee is #20k (if it hs nt bn increased sinx 2008), dat will guarantee that u won't lose d provisional offer. Then u can kip ur fingers crossed and hope for d best from UI. That's my two penny's worth of advise, coz until UI release d list officially, no one can really answer when.
