Why cant we call a spade a spade in Nigeria. I pity all those speaking for these herdsmen o
Adeniyi A.:
i begin to wonder if anyone is safe anywhere in nigeria
n this forum. So its until they turn the long bridge into Jos before we know they great danger they pose? Look, this Fulani guys are terrors, and that was why they were dealt with in Yewa,Ogun state. Their usual trademark is stabbing, arrow shot, rape, slitting of throats and etc. To be fore warned is to be fore harmed.

I don't know why some people on this forum would be sympathetic to terrorist? Who else would shoot an arrow and stab? And listen, you sympathizers of Fulani, what is the distance between the long bridge and the cattle market near Ogun river? Instead of us all to speak in one voice against terrorism, some souls here are being sympathetic to perpetrators. I pray you solicitors of the herdsmen one day wouldn't eat the bitter pie of their evil deeds

Car Talk / Re: Big Daddy Camry (2003 - 2006): Why Don't People Like It? by adegorilla(m): 8:38am On Jun 08, 2012
I don't know why people say a lot of negative things about cars they probably never used.
As for me, the Camry big daddy is one of the best the best cars i've ever used. I still have my old Camry 2000 (fish light) and
one can never compare their handling. The big daddy has a superior traction control and as for the engine, 'i'm loving it'.
This car's engine is fitted with VVTi technology for less fuel consumption with better performance. It is faster and smoother than the fish or tiny light.

The only thing is that the car needs more careful handling, e.g. stuffs like frequent removal of battery could pose a Big problem. As per maintenance cost, its marginally higher and not a day and night thing

Education / International Education Exhibition In Lagos by adegorilla(m): 1:06pm On Oct 24, 2008
Dear All,

Please be informed that our team of international education consultants will be in Nigeria first week of November, 2008.

We're representing Top World Class Institutions of learning and focused countries for interested candidates for now would be; Malaysia. Singapore and South Africa. All featured universities run top UK, US, Canadian and Australian Universities programs. The advantages of running for instance, a UK degree in these Asian Universities includes:

1.To save cost of running the same program in the UK (approximately spending just 40% of what you would spend in UK and this inclusive of accommodation and feeding)

2. There is an opportunity to transfer to the main campus in UK. Students are normally required to go to the UK for their final year. In the case of US/Canadian programs, its 2years in Asia, 2years in US/Canada. Another good news here is that getting UK/US visas is way easier than from Nigeria. I feel this should be an exiting opportunity for genuine students who are aspiring to succeed

I attended LASU for my undergraduate and The National University of Singapore(NUS) for my Masters. Coming to Singapore has changed my life, I now work for one of Fortune Global 500. And seriously speaking, Asia is fast catching up with the western nations, living in Singapore is like living in the US, this I can confirm I finished in 2005 and 've visited more than 7 countries including USA & UK despite an history of several visa refusals in Nigeria

As soon as our team arrives, we'll give you more information on meeting them. But know that our office is located in G.R.A. Ikeja, Lagos.

Do not hesitate to contact me at: oladosu20002000@yahoo.com should you require further information.

Kind regards,

Ola
Education / Re: Nigerians In Singapore by adegorilla(m): 6:58pm On Jul 19, 2008
I wouldn't say the Singaporeans are racist as such, but they are very strict with their rules. If I may ask, where did you do your masters & bachelors? Nigeria or overseas.

Frankly speaking with a Nigerian certificate its almost impossible to get into any Singaporean university most especially NUS. I've seen them refused even their citizens with western qualification admission.

But you can try your luck, at PhD level it could be different but I'll advice you to do a serious job on your methodology.
Education / Study Opportunity In South Africa by adegorilla(m): 9:59pm On Jul 17, 2008
I was in South Africa two weeks ago and met this college proprietor, an European whose school is in Cape Town. The College is very beautiful and they run Diploma and ACCA courses. He explained his interest in getting students from overseas and asked me to conduct a survey in this respect on Nigeria.

He gave details of courses ranging from Business, Engineering, Management to IT and on completing the course; students will proceed to year 2 in their prestigious partner universities in the UK, US, Netherlands, Australia and New- Zealand to finish their Bachelors degree (please note most undergraduate degrees are three years in these countries).

On the ACCA part, students can obtain a Bachelors degree in Applied Accounting and be a chartered accountant in three years. 100% of their ACCA graduates, according to them are employed 6months after graduation.

Also, internship (to gain work experience) and leadership program (with certificate) are available to students at no extra cost. This will increase their chances of getting top jobs any where in the world. Entrepreneurship courses are made mandatory for all students so as to learn the art and skill of jobs creation.

The proprietor went further that quality education is still lacking in Africa and its one of the reason for the high level of poverty. No wonder aside South Africa, no African university featured in the global top 1000 universities.

Careers advisory, counseling, mentoring, moral studies are offered. Accommodation is superb.

COST:
It’s not very pricey and exclusively for the super rich. I think its price is comparable to what some good private universities charge but not as much as some top private secondary school in Lagos. It cost less than doing similar course in UK/US.
In comparing the facilities available to the cost I suggest it’s very reasonable. All classes are climate controlled, comfortable seating, good library, computer labs and etc. The accommodation area has a gym, football field and swimming pool. Frankly speaking, the quality of classrooms, offices, accommodation and etc is very amazing.

Note: Cape Town is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in South Africa. Majority of the population are Whites, followed by Asians and security is very tight with frequent police and private security patrols.

Please for more info, email oladosu20002000@yahoo.com (serious people only) PLEASE NO PAYMENT IS DEMANDED. This is only a survey and if the response is encouraging, the man will visit Nigeria soon.

Visa seekers should please go elsewhere.
Romance / I'm Confused by adegorilla(m): 8:19pm On May 05, 2008
Hi All,

I'm in a kind of dilemma right now and don't know exactly what to do.

Shortly before I left Nigeria in 2004, I got engaged to my girlfriend of about 5years. She is a very sweet and caring lady. We agreed she 'll come over to Canada as soon as I settle down. My Uncle facilitated my coming to Canada by securing admission to do a professional engineering program. But two months after i arrived the man changed completely. He refused to pay my outstanding fees and so I had to cough out part of the remaining balance myself. In short, i was completely bankrupt in less than five months.

Then life became really hard. I always shuttle between work and classroom almost everyday and scared of going back home to avoid problems with my Uncle and his wife. I remember times I had bread and orange juice all day. Sometimes rice and chili (concoction). My reason for this modest lifestyle is to enable me to be able to save up for my fees.

After about 10months, I met this white lady. i must confess, this woman is a rear catch. She also studied in the same universityand from a very well to do home. Initially we were very good friends, we go see movies together and so on. I told her I don't want a relationship because of my financial situation but to my surprise, she offered to pay my fees balance. Before i knew what was happening I was living in her apartment. She provided EVERYTHING i needed. She got my car loan (for which I only pay the monthly installments). Later I met her parents, they mentioned their reservation about Africans, but they still accepted me. One of their family friends specifically commented that Nigerians are not reliable.

Her father helped me in securing a good job as a design engineer in a multinational company. Right now we've bought our own house. I went to Nigeria last year, bought a land and a car for my parents. They kept discussing about marriage to my fiancee. I know the girl has been very helpful and they really like her. I tried to hint my mum about the white lady but seems she doesn't want to be a party to it.

The lady in Nigeria is now pressurizing me that we must get married this year. Her family keep calling me everyday about my plans for their daughter.
To be candid, I had to change my lifestyle to suit Nigerian girl because of her family background. I had to give up drinking, friends, no partying talk less of clubbing and she always want this crowd thing. No privacy as such, we seldom go out alone which implies me spending a lot. The Canadian lady on the other hand is very understanding. I'm always myself with her and she accepted me for whom i am. She loves me naturally although I'm not disputing the love of my fiancee.

Please i need GOOD advice. who should I dump? I love the white lady more.
