Vincent Obianodo Reveals How He Built His 'The Young Shall Grow' Transport Empire

The name Vincent Obianodo may not ring a bell to you instantly. But that of his business surely does. He is the owner of The Young Shall Grow, one of the leading long distance (Luxurious transport Company) in Nigeria. He owns a fleet of over 500 luxurious buses plying major cities in Nigeria and even the West Coast. So visible are his buses that you are bound to see one on every major long distance route you take. Although he is also into other business, he ranks among one of the richest transporters in Nigeria.

The story of this wealthy business man is quite an inspiring one as he started from a very humble beginning way back in the Northern part of Nigeria where he spent most of his teenage years. Chief Vincent Obianodo hails from Umueze Nneni, Anambra State. Married to Ifeoma, the union is blessed with 5 kids. He is the largest employer of Ndi Neni and a great philanthropist. He is the brain behind YSG group of Companies, a wholly owned private Nigerian conglomerate comprising of viable subsidiaries in the Transport, Hospitality, Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Dredging & Quarry, and Rural Market Development Sectors.

The parent Company, Young Shall Grow Motors Transport Limited was found in 1972 by the Chairman, Chief Dr.Vincent Amaechi Obianodo MON (Member Order of the Niger), a business Mogul with a Midas Touch. He is the Chairman of YSG Transport, Rockview hotels, YSG Dredging, Vineegas, Vineeoil, and YSG properties. He was the co-owner of Cellcom Telecoms, a Fixed CDMA Telecommunication Company which was later sold to Visafone in 2006. He has provided mass employement in the rural areas, and also invested enormously in Rural Market Development by building and subletting shops and stores. One of such notable edifice is the ultra modern urban market in Onitsha located opposite famous Onitsha main market in Eastern part of Nigeria which is presently the biggest market in West Africa with about 3,000 shops, ware houses and banking hall, (Land mass 10 acres) managed by YSG properties Ltd, a real estate company as well as a rural and urban market development company. He is the present Managing Director of YSG Transport Ltd, Rockview Hotels, YSG Dredging Ltd, YSG Properties Ltd, YSG Travellers'Lodge Ltd, Vineegas Ltd and VineeOil Ltd.

Vincent lived most of his early years in Kano where he worked hard to make ends meet as a young and hardworking youngman. Among the numerous menial jobs he did, one that he allegedly became popular with was his ability to repair punctured Tyre. He was said to have been a vulcaniser for a long periiod of time before he developed interest in transport business. He started from the scratch in the business, as he was alleged to have been a bus conductor also before his dogged determination and diligence saw him setting up his own Inter State transport business which has today become one of the biggest in Africa. He commenced business in 1972 as a mini-bus Transport operator plying Enugu-Onitsha in the East -Central state of Nigeria. By 1973, the company moved its main operational base from Onitsha to Lagos and expanded into urban commuter bus business which Blossomed from a fleet of two (2) locally built Mercedes Benz 911 buses to over 40 within a period of seven (7) years.

PoliticsIs President Buhari A Tribalist?: An Analysis by Adelaide2(op): 8:28pm On Jul 01, 2015
IS PRESIDENT BUHARI A TRIBALIST?

Clearly, from the body language of PMB and his latest appointments, I may be forced to conclude that we now have a tribalist as the President of Nigeria. If I am from the north, honestly I will distance myself from this government of the north, by the north/SW, and for the north. It is morally wrong and against the federal character system.

I will because the south, if they are united, can ensure that power does not return to the north ever again, if this is what they will always get from any northern President whenever they get to power. The north alone can not vote a northerner into power, like wise the south (I must add).

Interestingly, the North often claim they are educational disadvantage zone. If they are educational disadvantaged, it clearly shows that people from the south would be more inclined to managing the affairs of this country proficiently and prudently. It means that for the nation to move forward, the President must pick their best ten from the zone that are educational advanced. In a country where the north claim to be educational disadvantaged, how come whenever a northerner is in power, they tend to pick the best ten from the same north that is educational backward? It is either they are not educational backward but collecting the subvention of educational backward people or they are indeed educationally backwards and therefore not the best qualified to hold these positions. I have some northern colleagues and they are on fire educationally. So perhaps the time we start changing some of this lies the military imposed on us is now. And if they insist they are educational backward in order to continue benefitting from all the benefits accrued to educationally disadvantaged zone, they should relinquish the position that is meant for put best 10. They must settle for one.

I am not even worried about the ranting that would follow this post. I am not the one that referred to them as being educationally disadvantaged; the constitution they created did.

I was never a fan of PMB. His recent appointments further support why I won't change my stand anytime soon. He has failed to adhere to the federal character system with his appointments and no one is talking. The Yoruba media are silent to avoid been a laughing stock to other parts of the south because the monster they imposed on Nigerians in the name of change is beginning to bite back.

Now, they have resorted to fighting Saraki. But what they failed to understand is that Saraki is a Fulani man, Buhari is a Fulani man....do they think that a Fulani man would fight for the downfall of another Fulani? In fact, a Fulani man is ready to kill a whole village if one of their cattle went missing, let alone allowing the position of senate president to slip from them. So if anything happens to Saraki, serious conflicts may be witnessed between the Fulanis and the Yorubas. Thus, the Yorubas should recall their attack dog, Sowore, and channel their energy towards 2019 because clearly, they are holding the short end of the stick in this power game.

Therefore, the earlier they stop fighting Saraki, they better for them.

I have tried to be as objective as I can possible be; but I am angry over recent political developments since the APC take over.

1. DANGOTE has the intention to buy Arsenal football club of England. Value to Nigerians ZERO. Used part of the money to build a $600 million cement factory somewhere in Africa.

2. IFEANYI UBAH is currently developing an 18,000 seating capacity mini stadium of international standard in Anambra state that would be the home of his football club "IFEANYI UBAH FC". Value to Nigerians IMMENSE

Francis5:
1: He will rule Nigeria quasi-democractically. This means that he will single-handedly make many of the decisions without consulting the parliament, his deputy, his party, or other advisers. Today we hear that he disallowed his deputy from a security meeting. The parliament under this regime will be mostly lame-duck with little if any significant achievements.
2. He will make very few public announcements and will not be seen on TV granting too many interviews, especially for local media
3. He will surround himself mostly with ''gerontocrats''. He will not trust with sensitive matters anybody he is not peers (age/profession wise) with. This means that young people will be sidelined considerably
4. Old retired military boys with whom he is ''buddy buddy'' will once again loom large in the national affairs
5. He will not make any significant achievements such as with Boko Haram, job creation, improvement in health and education, etc
6. He will attempt to jail many people but he will only be partially successful as his own corrupt people (those who brought him to power) will be trapped in the bubble
7. He will surround himself mostly with northerners
8. Buhari will lead for 8 years
9. There will be severe austerity that will ramify from federal to state and local governments
10. Under this long regime, there will be a pervasive sense of tiredness and resignation among many citizens.
I concur. This regime is gonna be a disastrous outing

Police were called to a home in Bear, Delaware, early on Thursday and found Adeyinka Adebamiro stabbed

Paramedics pronounced him dead about an hour later and the Delaware Division of Forensic Science ruled Adeyinka’s death a homicide, according to the News Journal.

The husband, Adebamiro, their two children and a nanny had been living at the home for two years.

Adebamiro, 35, and the victim had been married for more than ten years, although she told police he had physically abused her while she was pregnant, cheated on her with several women and sent her to Nigeria on multiple occasions.

She said he last sent her to Nigeria over Christmas so he could spend it with the nanny's daughter.

Detectives determined there was a verbal argument that led to a physical altercation.

The argument allegedly began after the victim found photos on Adebamiro's cellphone that she had taken of pictures he had stored on his mobile phone.

At some point after the argument, a single stab wound severed the victim's carotid artery and jugular vein.

Adebamiro's story about what happened changed several times and she suggested that her husband killed himself as well as mentioned a power outage that never happened.

She did not ever admit to the killing, but investigators felt there was enough evidence to charge her.

In addition to murder, Adebamiro was charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.

She was arraigned and committed to the Delores J Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution where she is being held without bail.

Evidently, from the excerpt below, it was a broad discourse but was sensationalise for the purpose of controversy.
Soyinka noted, adding humorously that the Igbos are probably the only group of Nigerians that you can predict with great accuracy whom they will vote for in an election, because they tend to put their votes where their stomachs take them; suffering as it were, from incurable money-mindedness, as they would stop at nothing in their quest for personal financial gain
So he said those, right?
